Porriehtang for embossing the folding edges of folding closures on containers made of paper or the like. It is known to produce sleeve-like containers made of paper or similar materials from a paper blank, in which on the part that should form the closure to be folded - folded edges have been embossed are.
A method for producing folded edges is that one introduces the already sleeve-like wound and glued container with its wall between rotatable embossing members and lets it run between these folding members in the circumferential direction. It has also been proposed to introduce a folding block into the prepared loading container, which only partially fills the interior of the container, in particular its closure part.
By placing the container wall against this folding block by means of pressing jaws brought in from the side, not only should the folds be pre-pressed, but the wall parts to be folded should also be partially pre-broken in order to facilitate the closing of the container after filling.
The required introduction of a form block into the container body, the use of a special folding block for the closure part and the application of several pressing jaws acting as male molds to the folding block forming the die make this process awkward, time-consuming and expensive.
In contrast, the aim of the invention is to create a simple embossing device having a male mold and a female mold, which is suitable for providing a sleeve-like container with the folding edges required for the closure part to be folded.
This goal is achieved in that the embossing members, which can be moved in the axial direction against each other, are provided with elevations and depressions which are brought into engagement during embossing by displacement against each other.
With such a device, it is possible to switch on the embossing of the folding edges for the folding closure in the operations of the container production taking place on a turntable, for example, without the machine, which does the winding and gluing of the sleeve, inserting the bottom, and filling and folding the clasp becomes much more cumbersome. On the other hand, a special embossing device, wel che provides the paper blank with folded edges before the actual container production, is saved, and the overall work is simplified.
The device according to the invention can be designed for containers that are conically narrowed towards the closure part, for cylindrical containers and for containers that widen conically towards the closure part. In all cases, the hollow body forming the die does not need to be divisible, since the embossing takes place solely through the axial insertion of the male die. Of course, nothing stands in the way of making the die divisible, for example for cleaning purposes.
In the drawing several Ausfüh approximately examples of the subject invention are shown.
1 shows a device for conically narrowed containers in an axial section; Fig. 2 is half a plan view of the empty die according to Fig. 1 and the other half is a section through the male and female molds according to II-II of FIG. 1; 3 shows a container embossed with the device according to FIGS. 1 and 2 after the folds have been laid; Fig. 4 shows a device for cylin drical container in an axial section;
Fig. 5 is a section along V-V of Fig. 4; Fig. 6 shows. a container embossed with the device of Figures 4 and 5; 7 shows a device for flared containers in an axial section; Fig. 8 is a section on VIII-VIII of Fig. 7; 9 shows a further device for flared containers in an axial section;
Fig. 10 is a section along X-X of Fig. 9; FIG. 11 shows in an axial section a die similar to that of FIG. 9 for the production of folding edges; Fig. 12 is a plan view of Fig. 11;
13 shows the die according to FIG. 11 with the male mold inserted into it and the container located in between in the embossed position, the male mold in the view and the female mold and the container being shown in an axial section; 14 and 15 show a perspective representation of a container provided with the device according to FIGS. 11 to 13 with folding edges before the folding respectively. after laying the folds corresponding to the folding edges.
In all of the exemplary embodiments described below, one has to imagine means, which are not shown, by means of which the male and female molds can be moved against one another and the elevations and depressions on them can thereby be brought into engagement.
The device according to FIGS. 1 and 2 has embossed members designed as a male mold 1 and a female mold 2 in the manner of compression molding members.
The male mold is designed in the shape of a truncated cone and can at the same time serve as a winding mandrel for the container 3, which is conically narrowed towards the closure part.
The male and female molds have elevations and depressions, namely the male mold 1 is provided with four folding rulers 4 'to 7' and the female mold with four corresponding grooves 4 "to 7". Furthermore, the male mold has two grooves 8 'and 9' and the mold has two corresponding folding rulers 8 "and 9".
If the male mold 1 with the sleeve 3 located thereon is now inserted into the female mold 2 by means of the movement mechanism (not illustrated) or, conversely, the female mold 2 is pushed over the male mold 1, the folding rulers are shifted parallel to the corresponding folding grooves and these are approximated to they, pressing the container wall between themselves, interlock. Here, folding edges are stamped into the container sleeve, namely those
those that come to lie on the outside on the finished closure (folding edges 4 to 7), and those that come to lie on the inside (8, 9). The closure part can easily be folded up by hand or with the aid of appropriate locking tools. The lower delimiting edges 10 to 12 of the fold are formed by themselves. However, special means can also be provided for forming lower delimiting creases of the fold, which will be described later.
The device according to FIGS. 4 and 5 corresponds essentially to that according to FIGS. 1 and 2, but is used for embossing zy-cylindrical containers. The male mold 13 is a cylindrical body which is stepped down at 14 so that the lower part has a slightly smaller diameter. On the remote part it is provided with longer folding rulers 15 and shorter folding rulers 16, which protrude only so far that they cut off with the peripheral part of the cylinder 13 not set off.
Correspondingly, the die 17 is set off in its lower part at the edge 18 inwardly projecting, and in this inwardly projecting surface grooves 19 are formed in which the folding rulers 15 and 16 can be inserted in the longitudinal direction. So that the container shell with the patrix can be easily pulled out of the Ma trize again, it is useful to form the folding rulers only on the patrix and to provide the die with grooves.
In this way, only outwardly protruding fold edges are formed on the container casing 20, while the finished closure has both outwardly protruding fold edges 21 and inwardly protruding fold edges 22 (FIG. 6). The inwardly protruding folding edges 22 form the self when folding the accordion-like folding closure. The un tern delimitation bends 28, 24, 25 of the folded surfaces either form themselves, or special With tel can be provided for this purpose, which will be described elsewhere.
The device according to FIGS. 7 and 8 corresponds essentially to that of FIGS. 1 and 2. However, since it is intended for loading containers which expand after the closure part, the folding rulers, for. B. 22, and. Grooves, e.g. B. 23, not at the lower, but at the upper end of the male mold 24 and the female mold 25 formed.
In the device according to FIGS. 9 and 10, the folding rulers and grooves are replaced by outwardly projecting and inwardly receding edges of the patrix 26 and the die 27, the longer edges of which 28 th to form the outwardly projecting the folded edges and their shorter ones Edges 29 are intended to form the inwardly protruding folded edges of the closure. The edges on the male and female molds are formed by flat embossing surfaces 31, 32, 33 that are inclined at different angles to one another.
These embossing surfaces can gradually or after a kink edge 30 merge into the conical jacket surface.
In order to be able to insert the male part 26 with the sleeve 34 into the female part 27 and out of it again, the diameter d, the male part 26 at the lower ends of the edges 29 - with regard to the associated diameter of the female part - must not be smaller than the diameter d2 of the template at the point at which the curved circumferential surface transfers into the stepped surfaces.
The male mold 35 and the female mold 36 in FIGS. 11 to 13 are both with edges formed by embossing surfaces 37 for imprinting the outwardly protruding fold edges 38, as well as with folding rulers 39 and associated folding grooves 40 for embossing the inwardly protruding fold edges 41 of the Be container 42 is provided.
The embossing surfaces 37 of the male mold 35 and the corresponding surfaces 43 of the female mold 36 are designed in such a way that their arcuate boundary edges 44 'and 44 "protrude a little or a little over the curved peripheral surface of the male mold 35 Form recessed areas in the die 36.
This ensures that the container 42 (FIGS. 14 and 15) holds weak kinks 44 that are free of tension due to their arcuate shape.
The number of folded edges to be produced is of course arbitrary, since it depends on the shape of the container as well as on the number of corners, type and shape of the folding closure. When producing containers with a rectangular or polygonal cross section of the container body, the folding edges can optionally be embossed in the entire length of the container. Sharp edges at the transition points should be avoided on the male and female molds so that the paper is not damaged.
