  Verfahren zur Herstellung einer     quaternären        Ammoniumverbindung.       Gegenstand vorliegenden     Patentes        ist    ein  Verfahren zur Darstellung einer     quaternären          Ammoniumverbindung,    dadurch ,gekennzeich  net,     dass    man     N-Dimethyl-dodecylamin    durch       Einwirken    von     o-Chlorbenzylchlorid    in     N-Di-          methyl    - N - (o -     chlorbenzyl)

      -     dodecylammo        -          niumchlorid    überführt.  



  Das so erhältliche Produkt bildet eine  gelbliche harzige Masse, die sieh in     Wasser     und Alkohol leicht löst. Es soll als     Desinfek-          tions-    und     Konservierungsmittel    Anwendung  finden.  



  <I>Beispiel:</I>  213     Gewichtsteile        N-Dimethyldodecyl-          amin,    erhältlich .durch Umsetzung von     Dime-          thylamin    mit     Dodecylbromid    als farblose  Flüssigkeit vom Siedepunkt     120-121'    bei  7-8 mm Druck, werden mit 161 Gewichts  teilen     o-Chlorbenzylchlorid    12 Stunden auf    <B>100'</B> erwärmt.

   Nach dem Erkalten erhält man  das     Dimethyl    - N -     (o_        chlorbenzyl)    -     ,dodecyl-          ammoniumchlorid    als     sehwach    .gelbliche, har  zige Masse, die sich in Wasser und in Alko  hol leicht löst.

PATENTANSPRUCH: Verfahren zur Darstellung einer quater- nären Ammoniumverbindung, dadurch ge kennzeichnet, dass man N-Dimethyldodeeyl- amin durch Einwirken von o-Chlorbenzyl- chlorid in N-Dimethyl-N-(o-chlorbenzyl)- dodecylammoniumchlorid überführt. Das so erhältliche neue Produkt bildet eine gelbliche harzige Masse, die sich in Wasser und Alkohol leicht löst.
