Process for the production of non-bleeding-through and non-smear-through rub-through ink coverings on substrates such as copy paper, copy-through forms and the like. The subject of the main patent is a process for the production of carbonless color coatings on carriers such as carbonless papers, carbonless forms and the like that do not strike through and do not smear.
The method is characterized in that a base color is applied to a carrier which only weakly adheres to it and is at least essentially free of oils, fats, waxes and wax emulsions, and a further layer is applied to this base layer which bonds with the base layer and thereby causes the transfer of the latter to the underlay when writing through and thus forms the through-writing color coating together with the base layer and at the same time acts as a protective layer for the base layer.
It has now been found that such carbonless ink coverings can be produced on substrates of particularly good quality according to the process of the main patent in that a mixture of 10 to 15 parts of the substances, about 2 parts of an organic adhesive, is used to produce the base layer is practically free of oils, fats, waxes and wax emulsions,
and 20 to 35 parts of a solvent for the latter and an emulsion containing about 3 parts of potash and 2 parts of tricresyl phosphate of 10 parts of wax in 20 to 30 parts of water to produce the top layer.
These layer compositions have the advantage that they allow the layers to be applied to the carrier material by the offset and gravure printing process, in addition to other known methods such as painting, spraying, stenciling and rolling, it being advisable to use the composition of the To choose layer masses accordingly, some examples of the compositions of such layer masses are given below:

<tb> Tricresyl phosphate <SEP> 200 <SEP> "One of the color layers according to a, <I> b </I> or c is applied to the carrier and covered with the top layer.
The above compositions are particularly suitable for application using the offset printing process.
With regard to the technical implementation of the process, reference is made to the angals of the main patent, whereby it should be noted that the application of the layers by offset or gravure printing is only one preferred embodiment, and that the layers of course also by any other suitable methods applied to the carrier who can.
Here, too, as in the main patent, the applied base layer only becomes the actual carbonless color covering with the desired properties through the interaction with the layer applied over it. Due to the weak bond between the base layer and the carrier, the significant technical progress is achieved that the transfer of the base layer to the substrate is almost completely and very easily when copying through.
A slight pressure when copying is sufficient to produce a large number of superimposed, sharp and easily legible copies. even after the forms have been stored for a long time, while with the previous carbonless ink films that adhere well to your carrier, a large part of the carbonless ink binds to the carrier and penetrates it,
As a result, only a fraction is transferred to the substrate when copying through and consequently a larger amount of ink is required to facilitate the same copying effect and a greater pressure when copying to enable the production of less sharp copies, which is still a great ability due to storage is greatly reduced.
The new process also saves a considerable amount of carbonless ink, since the latter does not penetrate the paper and is, so to speak, completely transferred to the base, so that a thin layer of ink is sufficient to achieve useful copies. It is also possible to use paints whose binder is soluble in water. In addition, paints can be used whose binders are soluble in any other solvent, for example alcohol, gasoline and the like.
It is essential that the ink used only adheres weakly to the carrier after it has been applied and is either completely free of oils, fats and waxes or wax emulsions, or that such substances are only used in minor quantities, such as those required to achieve the necessary printability used with such colors are present. For example, carbon black, Milori blue and any tar paints can be used as colorants.
The properties of the carbonless papers obtainable according to the method of the present invention in terms of storage stability, the clarity and sharpness of the copies, the non-bleeding and non-smearing are even better than those obtained according to the method of the main patent.
