Device for joining cigarettes with tail ends. The invention relates to a device for combining cigarettes with mouthpiece approaches by means of a connecting strip that is placed around both of them by rolling between perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the cigarette against zuein other movable surfaces at the junction of the mouthpiece and cigarette part. The device is characterized in that the mutually movable surfaces in pairs in a conveyor, for. B. a drum, arranged parts are provided.
The parts provided with rolling surfaces are advantageously leaf-shaped and be useful in a direction that intersects the upper surface of the conveyor, with a drum-shaped conveyor preferably in the radial direction, the mutual movement of the two parts is advantageously different from the movement of the conveyor, so the conveying speed and thus the throughput of the machine is not tied to the speed of the rolling process, so that with the appropriate dimensioning of the machine, the rolling process can be carried out so slowly that the cigarettes are largely protected.
If a drum is used as a conveyor, the rolling movement of the parts can be carried out to about s% 4 of the rotation of the drum, so that the pressure exerted on the connection point lasts so long that the connection is given the possibility of sufficient solidification . The pressure can be very gentle so that the tobacco filling is not damaged.
The conveyor can have guides that keep the parts provided with the rolling surfaces flush with the surface of the conveyor or underneath the surface of the conveyor during the placement of the union band and the cigarette part, and then for the purpose of applying the union bands on both sides to the mouthpiece secured against lifting. and push out cigarette parts evenly and then cause the parts to move in opposite directions to complete the wrapping.
The term “mouthpiece” includes round filter pieces with and without a casing as well as tubes that are not provided with filter material. The term "cigarette portion" includes cigarettes of normal and shorter length and cigarette rods that are longer than the usual cigarettes.
The drawing shows an exemplary embodiment of the subject matter of the invention, in which two cigarette parts are combined with one at the same time.
Fig. 1 and la show the upper and lower part of an elevation; Fig. 2 is partly a side view, partly a section along the line II-II of the part of the device shown in Fig. 1; Fig. 3 shows a detail; Fig. 4 shows a conveyor wheel partly in perspective, partly in section; Fig. 5 is a section on the line V-V of Fig. La; Fig. 6 is a section along the line VI-VI of Fig. La;
FIG. 7 relates to a variant of a part of FIG. 1.
In the device shown, the cigarette parts of a Vorratsbe container 1 provided with two compartments, not shown, are placed in pairs at some distance from one another in grooves 2 a of a drum 2. Mouthpieces or mouthpiece material that is wrapped in paper, which have the length of three double mouthpieces, who put the of a storage container 3 in grooves 4a of a drum 4 (Fig. 2 and 3) and of knives 5 and 5a acting in succession in mouthpiece parts of double length divided. These are conveyed during the movement of the drum 5 in grooves 6a of a support disk 6, which moves more slowly than the drum 4 and a larger number of grooves, namely 36, than the drum 4 (with 11 grooves) has.
The grooves 6a of the disc 6 are wider than the grooves 4a, so that the transition of the mouthpiece parts from the grooves 4a to the grooves 6a when the grooves come to lie next to one another is facilitated (FIG. 3). The transfer of the mouthpiece parts into the grooves 6a is effected by pusher 7 (FIG. 2) with the aid of springs 7a and rollers 7b, which run on a fixed curved strip 8. The step 8a of the guide bar 8 corresponds to one of the positions in which the grooves 4a and 6a lie next to one another. A stop disk 6b determines the position of the mouthpiece parts in the grooves 6a.
The disc 6 sits on a shaft 9, which is seen ver with a gear 9a, and the drum 4 on a sleeve 10 which is provided with a gear 10a of slightly smaller diameter. The two gears 9a and 10a are connected to one another via the gears 9b and 10b seated on the same shaft, so that they move in the same direction, but at slightly different speeds. For example, the drum 4 can perform 12 revolutions and the disk 6 only 11 revolutions per minute. The mouthpiece parts are held in the grooves 6a by fixed guides 11 ge, out to the point where they are conveyed into the grooves 12a of a disc 12 who the. The transfer into the channels 12a is effected by the fixed guide 12b (FIG. 1).
The mouthpiece parts pass from the disc 12 into grooves 2a of the drum 2, between the two cigarette parts. The groups formed in this way are transferred from the drum 2 to a conveyor wheel 13.
Immediately after the groups have reached the conveyor wheel 13, the parts forming the groups are pushed together under the action of guides 14, 14a which act on resilient fingers 13a (FIG. 4). One of the guides, for example the guide 14a, is arranged to be flexible and adjustable, so that the pressure with which the parts of the groups are pushed together in the axial direction can be adjusted.
The groups are then held on the conveyor wheel 13 in grooves on arms 13b with suction pressure, which acts through channels 13e (Fig. 4) which are connected via suction channels 13d to a hood 15 which leads to a suction line 15a (Fig. 1 ).
The groups pass from the conveyor wheel 13 to the drum 16. The hood 15 is designed in such a way that the suction through the channels 13c ceases at the point at which the groups are to leave the suction wheel. Before the point at which the groups are fed to the drum 16, a strip, e.g. B. made of cork, the width of which increases the length of the mouthpiece part by twice the addition required for attachment to the cigarette part, provided with adhesive, supplied in such a way that the group comes to rest with the mouthpiece part in the middle of the strip.
The strip is held by suction, exerted by the channels 16a, 16b (Fig. 5), a hood 17 and a suction line 17a, and cut by a rotatable knife 27a on the circumference of the drum 16 into the required lengths. The knife is at such an angle and is operated in such a way that the strip 27 is cut through at right angles during the rotary movement of the drum 16. In the drum 16 pairs of sheets 19, 20 (Fig. 5 and 6) respectively by means of sliders 19a. 20a guided radially.
The sliders 19a, 20a work respectively by means of rollers 19b. 20b with fixed guides 21, 22 together. The blades 19, 20 have in the middle slots 1.9e, 20c for the rotating knife 23, by which the groups are divided. The sheets @ 19, 20 also have slots 20d, so that the middle and the outer parts of each sheet are flexible to one another in order to accommodate irregularities in the diameter or in the shape of the mouth piece parts.
The guides 21 and 22 are shaped according to FIG. 1 a so that the sheets 19 and 20 are completely in the drum 16 during the feeding and cutting of the cork strip until the groups are brought from the conveyor wheel 13 to the drum 16, so that there is an uninterrupted, smooth surface for receiving the strip. When the mouthpiece and cigarette subgroup is placed on the strip by the conveyor wheel 13, the two blades 18, 20 move outwards almost simultaneously, so that the strip is placed on the group on both sides.
While the group is now held in place with the help of resilient fingers 24b, which sit on an endless chain 24a guided by fixed guideways 24b, the sheet 20 is pushed completely outwards, whereupon the sheet 19 also moves outwards moves while the sheet 20 moves back again. In this way the group is rolled between the sheets and the folding of the strip is completed. Before the sheet 20 begins to move inwards again, the sheet 19 is pushed outwards - so that the group moves a little further away from the drum surface.
According to FIG. 7, a spring plate 24e is arranged, which wraps the strip further around the group before the sheet 20 is pushed outwards, so that stamp 24d is used in place of the fingers 24b on the chain 24a can be.
During the further movement of the drum 16, the sheet 19 moves inwards, and the sheet 20 can be pushed outwards again, so that a rolling movement of the group is effected in the opposite direction. When the group arrives at the knife 23, the group lies again on the drum 16 with the seam, advantageously on the blade 20, so that it is held by this blade during the cutting process. This prevents the seam from opening under the influence of the cutting process.
Between the .Messer 23 and the last receiving drum 25, the sheet 20 is withdrawn into the drum and the sheet 19 is pushed out. The finished pair of cigarettes is conveyed into a channel 25a of the drum 25, in which it is fed to a conveyor belt 26 which forms part of a stacking device.
In order to separate the divided cigarettes from one another before they are transferred to the conveyor belt 26, rollers 29 are arranged which are rotated in the opposite direction.
The described rolling movement can also be repeated during the rotational movement of the drum 16 in order to strengthen the seam of the strip even better.
Instead of laying the strip on the circumference of the drum 16, it could also be cut to the required length and, provided with glue, brought into contact with the groups when the latter is on the conveyor wheel 13. In this case, the drum 16 can work medium without suction. For example, the conveyor wheel 13 can move the groups away from the drum 2 and bring them into contact with the adhesive-coated band, which is held by suction by a special feed drum. At the moment when a group comes into contact with the band, the suction is switched off so that the band adheres to the group and is fed to the drum 16 with it.
The tape is then placed around the group on both sides through the protruding parts of the sheets 19, 20.
Instead of the drum 16, an endless chain could also be arranged. Then the scroll blades would move back and forth in planes perpendicular to the strand of the endless chain. The back and forth movement could then also be effected by fixed guideways.
If one of the movable surfaces were formed by a conveying device, the operating speed of the device would be limited, because in order to avoid damage to the cigarettes, the rolling speed must only be low. With such an arrangement the strip could also stick to the conveyor that brings it into contact with the group; be it that the suction that is used to hold the strip is unge. want to last a long time or be it that static electricity acts on the tape. Furthermore, the seam of the strip is only subjected to an external pressure for a very short time, so that it is often not sufficient to fix the seam.
The result is that the seam comes off easily, especially if mouthpieces twice as long have to be cut after the strip has been put around.
Devices are known in which the rolling device, in which the strip is laid around the joint, is arranged on a conveyor. In these Vorrich lines, however, the rolling device is formed by a nest of rollers, which is considerably more intricate in its design than the be written, be made of leaf-shaped parts, Rollvortriebtung.
