Method for driving a motor vehicle with a hydraulic transmission. The invention relates to a method for driving a motor vehicle with a hydraulic transmission, consisting of a liquid converter and liquid coupling.
When using a mechanical change gear for power transmission, measures are known with which a damaging load on the engine by long-term driving with Spitzengeschwin speed, eg. B. on motorways is avoided. For this purpose, for example, the direct gear of the transmission is selected so high that the engine cannot reach full speed and therefore the car cannot drive its maximum speed in direct gear. The engine therefore only develops its maximum output in the next lower gear.
If this overdrive method is used in a hydraulic transmission with a liquid clutch, there is the disadvantage that the car can never be driven at maximum speed because the engine does not reach its peak speed.
In contrast, the method according to the invention consists in that the power transmission takes place either directly or in overdrive, both in the converter and in the clutch operation of the hydraulic transmission. This can be achieved by means of a transmission gear whose gears consist of a direct gear and a high-speed gear. The converter and the clutch of the hydraulic transmission's rule can consist in a known manner P either separately from two circuits or combined from one circuit. If the converter and clutch are separate aggregates, the transmission gear is switched on before the fluid clutch is geous.
In this arrangement, the clutch works on the one hand due to the increased speed of the pump impeller and on the other hand by reducing the torque to be transmitted with better efficiency. The transmission gear is expediently designed as a gear change gear and switched in the usual way by a shift lever.
A suitable gearbox for executing the process is illustrated in the drawing. As an exemplary embodiment, a hydraulic transmission with a transmission gear arranged in front of the fluid coupling with direct gear and high speed gear is shown in vertical section.
The hydraulic transmission based on the Föttinger basic principle is composed of a fluid flow transmission in the form of a converter 1 and a fluid coupling 2. The Drehtnömentwandler 1 be available from a pump wheel 3, a turbine wheel 4 and a stator 5, the Zel len a self-contained liquid circuit K bring about. The pump wheel 3 is connected at 6 to the drive shaft 7 of the Mo sector and the turbine wheel 4 at 8 to the output shaft 9 of the converter. The shaft 9 is mounted in the housing 1 () at 11 and on a journal of the drive shaft 7 at 12.
The fluid coupling 2 BE consists of a pump wheel 13 and a turbine wheel 14, the cells of which also bring about a closed fluid circuit K. The pump wheel 13 of the fluid coupling 2 is fixed at 15 on an inter mediate shaft 16 and the turbine wheel 14 at 17 on a shaft 18. The inter mediate shaft 16 is mounted at 19 in the shaft 9, at 20 in the housing 10 and at 21 on a pin of the shaft 18. The output shaft 18 of the clutch is mounted in the housing 10 at 22. On the shaft 9, a gear 24 is attached at 23, which wreath 25 carries a claw. Another gear 26 is arranged on the intermediate shaft 16 in a groove guide 27 axially displaceable and also carries a claw ring 25 '.
Parallel to the intermediate shaft 16, a countershaft 30 is rotatably mounted in the Ge housing 10 at 28, 29, on which two interconnected gears 31, 32 run. During the journey, only part of the hydraulic transmission (converter or clutch) is in operation. In the other part, the liquid is drained from the circulation cells, so that the pump and turbine wheel of this part run empty. The drive shaft and the output shaft of the converter BEZW. the fluid coupling must then be connected directly or mechanically to one another.
For mechanical coupling of the shafts 7 and 9, a coupling sleeve 33 is used, which is axially displaceable on shaft 7 in a groove guide 34 and on the groove guide 34 'of the shaft 9 can be pushed. A bolt 35, which is attached to a shift rod 36 arranged in the hollow shaft 7, guides the coupling sleeve 33 in a slotted hole 37 of the hollow shaft 7. The shift rod 36 is moved by a shift sleeve 38 slidable on the shaft 7 by means of a bolt 35 '.
For mechanical coupling of the shafts 16 and 18, a claw coupling sleeve 39 is arranged axially displaceably on the shaft 18, the claw ring 40 of which can engage in the claw ring 40 ′ of the turbine wheel 13. As soon as the load torque can be applied directly by the drive motor, the fluid coupling is used for power transmission, since the maximum efficiency of the coupling is greater than that of the converter.
The position of the gear 26 shown corresponds to the idle gear of the transmission. If the gear 26 is pushed forward, the dog rims 25, 25 'of the gears 24 and 26 come into engagement, and the shafts 9 and 16 are immediately kup pelt.
In this state, the car can be driven at its top speed. If you want to drive the car at high speed for a long time while protecting the engine as much as possible, the gear 26 is engaged in the gear 32 and thereby the speed of the intermediate shaft 16 is increased compared to the shaft 9. DBr Mntnr is then, work the gearbox in clutch or converter operation, its speed is reduced by the smaller overall power transmission and not exposed to any harmful permanent load.
This overdrive method is also advantageous for other driving conditions, e.g. E. Slow city travel, because the fluid clutch works significantly more grippy as a result of the increase in speed and keeps the engine in a quiet gear at low speeds.
