Description

  

  Verfahren zur Herstellung eines     Azofarbstoffes.       Im Hauptpatent ist die Herstellung neuer       Monoazofarbstoffe    beschrieben, die in der  Weise erfolgt, dass man in an sich bekannter  Weise auf     1,7-Aminonaphthole    in saurer Lö  sung     Diazoverbindungen    einwirken lässt, die  frei von wasserlöslich machenden Gruppen  sind. Die so erhältlichen     Monoazoverbindun-          gen    besitzen eine gute Affinität zur     Baum-          wollfaser,    so dass sie besonders geeignet für  die Herstellung von     Azofarbstoffen    auf der  Faser sind.  



  Es wurde nun gefunden, dass man     Mono-          azoverbindungen    ebenfalls guter Affinität  zur pflanzlichen Faser erhält, wenn man bei  dem Verfahren des Hauptpatentes das     1,7-          Aminonaphthol    durch seine     N-Alkyl-    oder       N-Aryl-Substitutionsprodukte    ersetzt.  



  Gegenstand des vorliegenden Patentes ist  ein Verfahren zur Herstellung eines     Azo-          farbstoffes.    Das Verfahren besteht darin, dass  man     diazotiertes        2-Nitranilin    mit     1-Methyl-          amino-7-oxynaphthalin    in saurer Lösung  kuppelt. Der neue     Monoazofarbstoff        4-(2'-          Nitrobenzolazo)        -1-methylamino-7-oxynaph-          thalin    ist in Wasser unlöslich, löslich in ver-    dünnten Alkalien und besitzt gute Affinität  zur Faser.  



  <I>Beispiel:</I>  In eine     eiskalte    Lösung von 182 g 1     Me-          thylamino-7-oxynaphthalin    in verdünnter  Salzsäure     wird    die in bekannter Weise aus  138 g '     2-Nitranilin    hergestellte     Diazolösung     eingerührt. Bei schwach kongosaurer Reak  tion tritt schnelle     Farbstoffbildung    ein. Der  in Wasser unlösliche braunrote     Monoazo-          farbstoff    4 - (2' -     Nitrobenzolazo)    -1-     methyl-          amino-7-oxynaphthalin    wird in üblicher Weise  isoliert.



  Process for the preparation of an azo dye. The main patent describes the preparation of new monoazo dyes, which is carried out in such a way that diazo compounds which are free of water-solubilizing groups can act in an acidic solution on 1,7-aminonaphthols in a manner known per se. The monoazo compounds obtainable in this way have a good affinity for cotton fibers, so that they are particularly suitable for the production of azo dyes on the fiber.



  It has now been found that monoazo compounds that have a good affinity for vegetable fibers are obtained if, in the process of the main patent, the 1,7-aminonaphthol is replaced by its N-alkyl or N-aryl substitution products.



  The present patent relates to a process for the production of an azo dye. The process consists in coupling diazotized 2-nitroaniline with 1-methylamino-7-oxynaphthalene in acidic solution. The new monoazo dye 4- (2'-nitrobenzolazo) -1-methylamino-7-oxynaphthalene is insoluble in water, soluble in dilute alkalis and has a good affinity for fibers.



  <I> Example: </I> The diazo solution prepared in a known manner from 138 g of 2-nitroaniline is stirred into an ice-cold solution of 182 g of 1-methylamino-7-oxynaphthalene in dilute hydrochloric acid. In the case of a weak Congo acid reaction, rapid dye formation occurs. The red-brown monoazo dye 4 - (2 '- nitrobenzolazo) -1-methyl-amino-7-oxynaphthalene, which is insoluble in water, is isolated in the customary manner.

PATENTANSPRUCH: Verfahren zur Herstellung eines Azofarb- stoffes, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass man diazotiertes 2-Nitranilin mit 1-Methylamino- 7-oxynaphthalin in saurer Lösung kuppelt. Der neue Monoazofarbstoff 4-(2'-Nitro- benzolazo) -1- methylamino- 7 -oxynaphthalin ist in Wasser unlöslich, löslich in verdünnten Alkalien und besitzt gute Affinität zur Faser. PATENT CLAIM: Process for the production of an azo dye, characterized in that diazotized 2-nitroaniline is coupled with 1-methylamino-7-oxynaphthalene in acidic solution. The new monoazo dye 4- (2'-nitrobenzolazo) -1-methylamino-7-oxynaphthalene is insoluble in water, soluble in dilute alkalis and has a good affinity for fibers.
