Description
Escalier repliable.
Folding staircase. The object of the invention is a folding staircase for garrets, comprising two protrusions with multiple elements carrying between them the staircase steps; the two shears are connected together by the steps, the ends of the shears being fixed on the one hand by a control device to the ceiling of a room that is to say under the floor of the garret to which you want to have access, on the other hand to traction members allowing the staircase to be opened or closed.
The accompanying drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the object of the invention.
Fig. 1 shows a side view of the closed or open staircase; Fig. 2 shows a plan view. The staircase 1 comprises two multi-element snips 2, provided between them with supports for receiving the staircase steps. The two shears are connected together by the steps. The ends of the stair shears are fixed, on the one hand, to the ceiling of a room, that is to say under the garret floor to be made accessible; on the other hand, they are connected by traction members 5, for example cables, guided on rollers 6, fixed to the floor, and attached to a winding roller with springs 7, mounted in the ceiling.
The springs are arranged so that their action on the cables 5 at least partly compensates for the weight of the stairs. The roller 7 carries two end parts 8 with a diameter greater than that of its central part, facilitating the management of the stairs. On these larger diameter parts are attached the cables, which are rolled up if the staircase is closed, and unrolled if the staircase is open. The purpose of the central part of the smaller diameter is to reinforce the action of the springs when they are relaxed. The staircase is fixed by its upper part in the floor of the ga letas, the opening of which must be sufficient to accommodate the closed staircase. To close or open this opening, an upper cover 9 and a lower cover 10 are provided.
The upper cover 9 is fixed to the frame 11 of the opening by a hinge 12, the lower cover 10 by a hinge 13 to a cross member 14, simultaneously holding the roller 7. The two covers 9 and 10 are connected by connecting rods 15 and 16 and a lever with two arms 17, having an axis of oscillation 18, fixed in the frame of the opening. The two covers are substantially balanced, which allows them to be kept in any position, and also in the closed position. The lower cover is provided with a stop allowing the staircase, in its open position, to rest on this cover, thus giving more rigidity to the staircase.
