Description

Device for improving combustion in heating systems. The present invention relates to a device for improving combustion in heating systems. This is characterized according to the invention in that in a flat, hollow metal body which is heated by the fuel flame, transverse walls extending from one side wall are installed alternately, which form chambers without touching the opposite side wall All in such a way that the incoming fresh air can be heated as it flows through the individual chambers.

By supplying strongly heated additional air into the combustion chamber, the result is that oxide gases burn instead of escaping through the smoke outlet. This reduces smoke formation to a minimum and prevents the build-up of soot. This better combustion can result in fuel savings of up to 20%, provided that the arrangement of the devices in the combustion chamber is correct. The drawing illustrates an exemplary embodiment from the subject of the invention.

Fig. 1 in section along line d-B in Fig. 2, and through Fig. 2 in side view.

The A-metal body 1 has the air inlet opening 2. The transverse walls 3 each output from a side wall of the metal body 1. Since the transverse walls 3 do not extend to the opposite side wall, the passage openings 4 arise between the individual chambers 5. The heated air can pass through these until it reaches the last chamber. The air is heated more and more from chamber to chamber until the last chamber is reached. In this last chamber, the radial, appropriately inclined bores 7 are arranged in the wall of the outlet opening 6 at about 45.

These holes ensure that the heated air enters the combustion chamber in a well-distributed manner in order to promote combustion by mixing with the oxide gases. Depending on the size of the heating system, one or more such devices are built into the train or trains. The air inlet opening 2 is expediently connected to a pipe which opens into the fresh air outside the flues. As a result of the existing negative pressure in the trains, a fresh air flow is created through the said pipe and the metal body 1, which enters the train in the heated state at the openings 6 and 7 and promotes combustion.

It is also useful to provide different sizes of the device in order to improve the combustion in the various heating systems by arranging the device appropriately.
