lylit internal pressure vessel. The invention relates to a container consisting of a lower and upper part, which can be opened by lifting the two parts from each other, in the interior of which a certain overpressure is to be generated and maintained, as is the case in particular with steam pressure cookers. Its purpose is to improve the sealing and locking device present in known pots of this type.
In the design of the container according to the invention, its sealing closure consists of an automatically sealing closure ring, without the need for pressing means such as screws, pressing levers and the like. According to the invention, this can be achieved in that between the upper and lower parts of the vessel there is attached an elastic sealing ring which is supported against the liftable part, which can be locked in its detaching movement from a detachable stop,
which automatically blocks the passage of pressure through the joint between the interlocking edges of the upper and lower part. The sealing method of this locking ring, which is pressed against the joint by the internal overpressure, makes it possible to construct the container in such a way that the part that can be lifted up to the point at which it locks the lift-off movement can have play as the pressure increases When the lid lifts, the locking ring is lifted accordingly by suction while maintaining its sealing position.
Excessive pressure that is created can escape through pressure relief openings in the container in the form of a ring. which are kept closed by an elastic sealing ring.
In the drawing, the invention is explained by way of example embodiments. It shows Fig. 1 partly in view, partly in section, a pressure cooker; 2 and 3 illustrate the enlarged sealing arrangement before and after the action of the steam pressure: FIG. 4 shows a diagrammatic representation of a pair of connecting cramps that limit the movement of the lid: FIG. 5 shows an embodiment in section.
in which the one clamp part is attached to a ring that can be rotated around the pot lid: FIGS. 6 and 7 explain a further embodiment of the closure device. and FIGS. 8 and 1) of the safety device. In the case of the vessel shown in FIG. 1, the upper part, the cover hood, is guided. with its beaded edge b finite some play in the bulged edge c # of the lower part of the saucepan d.
Steam vent holes e are also provided in this edge. Below the edge 1) there is an elastic sealing ring f, which touches the edge c over its entire U mfana.
On the lid a and pot d hook-like staples r and corresponding counter staples h are attached in places. that in the case of staples standing on top of one another, the lifting movement is blocked after a short distance has been covered in the illustrated embodiment.
The mode of operation of this arrangement is as follows: The lid a is placed on the pot d. The clamps g, h are then brought into an overlapping position by rotation. The grooves of the Kra.nipen g are at the ends by different bolw -IN connecting webs i. h: closed.
The higher webs i form stops for the rotary movement when the pot is closed. : The webs are dimensioned so that the opening rotary movement is only possible when the cover is in its lowest position. that means the pot is not under pressure. After turning the lock, take the individual parts first. the one in Fig. respectively 6 shown mutual position.
If, as a result of the heating, the pressure inside the (@ e- drum is increased, the latter lifts the lid a until the clamps g stop against the counter clamps li.
At the same time, the sealing ring f is also lifted by the suction effect exerted on the ring by the lifting cover. The ring f keeps the parting line between the lid and the pot closed and remains in this position shown in FIGS. 3 and 7. in wel cher a further lifting of the lid by the stop g. b is locked while standing. than the internal pressure of the vessel is able to hold the lid in this position. If the pressure inside the vessel continues to rise.
so he tries to force the Picbtungsring f into the parting line between the edges b and c. Due to the deformation occurring thereby. Relocation of the sealing ring, the blow-off holes P are exposed (see dotted position of the sealing ring f in Fig. 3 and 7). Appropriately, this security can be achieved using a sealing ring f with a rectangular cross-section. by giving the edge b an outwardly sloping surface b.
The sealing ring ver may then with increasing pressure in a favorable manner, as shown in dotted lines in Fig. 7, in the funnel-shaped expanded joint between edge b and c is tilted zii. The vessel is thus protected against a dangerous increase in pressure inside.
The overpressure safety device can, however, also be attached separately from the explained closure seal. for example. by providing a hollow handle knob 1 on the cover plate cr, in whose neck the blow-off holes e are attached and are covered from the outside by a rubber ring m.
Such a hoop acts like a whistle when the pressure inside the holes rises, so that the fuse also serves as an alarm signal that audibly announces that a certain internal pressure has been reached. Such a ring can be provided with handle parts for easier handling, so that an undesirably high pressure inside the vessel can be easily removed by hand at any time by pulling on the handle.
In the Ausfüh tion shown in Fig. 9, the existing elastic closure structure from a rubber ring is still me-metallic, reinforced by a spring ring o pulled over the rubber ring.
In order to keep wear effects away from the sealing ring when the upper and lower parts are turned into the final position, either the staples g or the staples h can be attached to a rotatable, but not transversely displaceable, to upper or lower part. Attach the lower part of the tire p so that only this ring needs to be rotated during the closing and opening movement, while the upper and lower part remain at rest and thus no sliding movements are caused on or with the sealing ring.
Fig. 5 shows such an embodiment in which the staples g are attached to a ring p which is rotatable about the upper part a and is provided with handles q.
Instead of the releasable lift-off stop shown in the exemplary embodiments explained, other locks can also be used. for example to Ober- respectively. The lower part is attached with a joint and can be brought into and out of the closed position by folding it down and using staples.
