La fig. 1 représente une coupe longitudi nale de l'appareil, pourvu d'une seule cap sule de massage; La fig. 2 représente une variante de l'ap pareil pourvu de deux capsules de massage; Les fig. 3 et 4 représentent des variantes d'exécution dans lesquelles l'intensité des vi brations peut être réglée par un moyen méca nique.;
The object of the present invention is an alternating current vibrator apparatus comprising an electromagnet, the vibrations being produced by the combined action of the alternating magnetic flux and of an antagonist spring on a plunger core whose movement axially is directly transmitted to the massage capsule by a rod integral with the plunger core.
The drawings. appended hereto represent, by way of nonlimiting examples, embodiments of the object of the invention.
Fig. 1 shows a longitudinal section of the device, provided with a single massage cap; Fig. 2 shows a variant of the device provided with two massage capsules; Figs. 3 and 4 show variant embodiments in which the intensity of the vibrations can be regulated by mechanical means;
Fig. 5 shows an alternative embodiment in which the intensity of the vibrations can be regulated by electrical means and by mechanical means, FIG. 6 shows the electrical coupling diagram in. that case; Fig. 7 shows an external view of the apparatus in an embodiment provided with a switching device which allows use at two different voltages, the electrical coupling being made in this case according to the diagram shown in FIG. 8.
In fig. 1, the box 1 is seen in section, made of metal or of molded material. By a recess provided in the handle 2 arrive the conductors 3 which bring the native alternating current to the coil 4 of the electromagnet. The latter is surrounded by a magnetic shielding 5, which carries on one side the fixed core 6.
The ferromagnetic metal plunger 7 moves axially inside a paramagnetic sleeve 8; it is integral with a rod 9, to the end 10 of which is attached the massage capsule 11. The sleeve 8 has a partition 12 which serves as a guide for the rod 9 and at the same time as a fulcrum for the coil spring. 13 and a stopper limiting the stroke of the core 7. A non-metallic washer 14 is interposed between the core 7 and the stop 12, and in this way dampens the noise of the vibration.
The air gap between the plunger core 7 and the opposite core 6 is delimited by the frustoconical surface of the end of the plunger core and by a corresponding shaped recess in the end of the opposite core.
The operation of the device is as follows: The spring 13 acts as an opposing force of the electromagnet and pushes the core 7 against the stop 12. At each pulse of the alternating current, the electromagnet attracts the core , which starts to vibrate. The vibration of the nucleus is in synchronism either with the frequency of the current, or with a sub-multiple thereof.
Fig. 2 is an exemplary embodiment in which the plunger core 7 is provided with a second rod 21 of paramagnetic metal, which passes right through the fixed core 6 and exits the casing 1 on the side opposite the sule cap. massage 11. At this end is attached a second massage capsule 22 which, for example, could be in the shape of a ball.
It is often desirable that the intensity of the vibrations of the vibrating device be adapted to the region of the body where the massage is applied. Indeed, the massage should obviously be gentler on the face, for example, than on any other part of the body. To this end, various devices have been provided which allow the intensity of the vibrations of the massage capsule to be adjusted.
In the exemplary embodiment shown in FIG. 3, the apparatus is provided with a threaded sleeve 31 having a stop 32 on which the opposing spring 13 rests, on the one hand, and the washer 14, on the other hand. This socket is screwed into a barrel 33 integral with the electromagnet and can be operated from the outside using the knurled knob 34. By acting on the socket 31, the length of the air gap between the plunger core is modified. 7 and the fixed core 6, without changing the tension of the antagonist spring 13. An increase in the air gap determines an increase in the reluctance of the magnetic circuit, hence a reduction in the magnetic flux and in the attractive force of the electro- magnet on the plunger core.
This results in a decrease or an increase in the intensity of the vibrations of the latter depending on whether the sleeve 31 is moved away or, on the contrary, pushed in.
Fig. 4 relates to a device for adjusting the intensity of the vibrations by a means similar to that of FIG. 3, but in which the variation of the air gap is obtained by the displacement of the right-hand core 41, previously designated as the fixed core. The core 41 is threaded and screws into the non-threaded AC 42 integral with the magnetic shield 5 of the electromagnet. It can be operated from the outside thanks to the mo lete button 43 and after adjustment its position is ensured in a stable manner by a locking nut 44 also provided with a mo lted crown.
In the exemplary embodiment shown in FIG. 5, the intensity of the vibrations is adjusted by two devices, one acting on the electric circuit, the other on the tension of the antagonist spring, and which can be adjusted either separately or simultaneously to achieve the desired effect. An ohmic resistor 51 disposed circularly in a suitable housing of the casing 1 is interposed on one of the core conductors born of current in series with the coil 4 of the electromagnet as shown schematically in FIG. 6.
A cursor 52, made integral with the external button 53 by the axis 54 can move circularly on the resistor 51 and thus modify the value of the resistor interposed in the electrical circuit, from which an adjustment of the attractive force of the electromagnet on the plunging core 7 and an adjustment of the intensity of the vibrations.
It may be advantageous to adjust the tension of the spring 13 so multaneously, so as to adapt its antagonistic force to the attractive force of the electromagnet in order to have a regular movement and without noise. For this purpose, a threaded sleeve 31 is provided, arranged in a manner similar to that of FIG. 3, which can be displaced axially thanks to the thread executed inside the barrel 33. The movement of the stop 32 acts only over the length of the spring 13 which is thus either compressed or relaxed, depending on whether the knurled knob 34 is turned in one direction or the other.
The damping washer 14 is based on a threaded ring 55 blocked inside the barrel 33; the stroke of the plunger core is therefore in this case always delimited by a fixed stop.
Fig. 7 is the exterior view and FIG. 8 the electrical diagram of an alternative embodiment of the invention, in which the apparatus is intended to be used at two different voltages, for example at two standardized voltages of 125 and 220 volts. The coil 4 of the electromagnet consists of two main windings 81, 82 each having n.1 turns and two auxiliary windings 83, 84 each having n2 turns, the ends of which are connected. to the contact pads 85, 86, 87 and 88. An external knurled button 71 carries on its insulating axis 89 two contact fingers 90 and 91 isolated from one another.
In the position of the contact fingers 90 and 91 shown in solid lines at the ends (fig. 8), the main windings 81 and 82 are connected in series through the contact pieces 87, 90 and 86. The auxiliary windings do not are traversed by no current, the pads 85 and 88 being separated from the rest of the circuit. In this position, the apparatus can "be supplied with the higher voltage U2 (220 volts, for example).
In the second position of the contact fingers, shown in dotted lines at 90 'and 91', the main windings are each connected in series with an auxiliary winding, these two groups being connected in parallel with one another. The device can then be supplied with the lower voltage U (125 volts, for example).
The magnetic conditions of the electromagnet are the same in both cases if we have the proportion:
EMI0003.0024
If the two envisaged voltages are in the ratio of 1 to 2, the auxiliary windings 83 and 84 reduce to zero and at the lower voltage, the main windings are connected directly in parallel. The auxiliary windings 83 and 84 can also be omitted when the two voltages envisaged are in a sufficiently close ratio of 1: 2 so that the difference in excitation of the electromagnet at the two voltages, with windings in series or in parallel , or without appreciable influence on the intensity of the vibrations.
It is obvious that the various devices described with reference to FIGS. 2 to 8 of the appended drawings can be used either separately or in combination with one another on the same apparatus without the apparatus departing from the scope of the present invention.
