<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>
<Desc/Clms Page number 5>

"Device for the production of high voltage current pulses, in particular for meadow fences".
The object of the present invention consists of a device, suitable in particular for the fences of meadows, intended for the production of high voltage current pulses, with a periodic switch inserted in the primary circuit of a transformer.
The invention is based on the fact that the current switch having a spring-operated rocker member is in movement connection with a connecting rod, which carries an armature lying in the field of the magnetic flux of the transformer core, which armature is placed under the influence of an elastic force acting against the tensile force which can be generated magnetically, a member acting as a pneumatic shock absorber being arranged for the retardation of the switching movement of the connecting rod.
In the drawing, there is partially shown schematically an embodiment of the object of the invention.
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
The fig.l shows the device in longitudinal median section; fig.2 is an illustration on a larger scale of part of the switch, and fig.3 shows another part of the switch in enlarged axial section.
The frame or chassis of the device is represented by 1, and carries at its upper part a plate 2 of insulating material.
In this frame is arranged the transformer with an iron core 3, a primary winding 4 and a secondary winding 5. The central core part has a longitudinal bore 6 and, below and concentrically to the latter, a recess 7.
Through the borehole 6 of the iron core is passed a connecting rod 8, to which is fixed, at its upper end, projecting through a hole in the / plate 2, a coil-shaped driving means 9. This driver passes through a slot adapting to its narrowed central part, slot provided in a leaf spring 10, fixed at one end, to the insulating plate 2. Below this spring 10, are fixed, in the plate 2, the ends of the branches a second leaf spring 11, in the form of a fork and arranged approximately parallel to the first, and of which the free middle part 11 'connecting the branches, is provided with a movable contact head 12, directed towards the top.
Above this movable contact member, a fixed contact head 15 is mounted on a lamel 14 held in place by a bolt 13 between the medial part 11 'of the leaf spring carrying the movable contact, and the front free end of the leaf spring 10, a U-shaped leaf spring 16 is tensioned so that the ends of its legs, being bent outwards, embrace edges of springs 10 and 11 and keep their free ends at a distance, above or below one another, so that by pressing down or upwards the r es - exits 10 pa.r through the driver 9 of the rod 8, after the symmetrical mean position of maximum tension of the U-spring 16 has been reached, the ends of the leaf springs 10 and 11 will be pushed back,
by the relaxation of the spring 16, in the direction

opposite to each other, causing a sudden rocking movement of the spring 11 carrying the contact head 12.
To the lower part of the connecting rod 8 projecting out of the borehole of the core, is fixed, by means of nuts 17, a reinforcement 18, in the form of a blade, movable upwards and coming into engagement from below with the outer branch 3 'of the transformer. Above the upper fixing nut 17 of the frame, a helical spring 31, resting in the recess 7 of the central core part, is arranged on the rod 8, this spring acting to re - push the armature of the branches 3 'of the core. The lower end of the connecting rod 8 passes through (fig.3) a central opening 19 of a lo-. gement fixed to the lower part of the frame 1 of the device, and consisting of two screwed halves, said end having a reduced threaded end 8 '.
A resilient membrane 21 is firmly clamped, hermetically, between the screwed together sealing flanges of the housing portions 20 'and 20 ". Through a concentric opening of this membrane, the portion is passed. collar, internally threaded with a nut 22 screwed onto the threaded end 8 'of the end of the rod. On the threaded end 8', on the upper side of the membrane, is then mounted a disc 23 having a borehole corresponding to fit on the end 8 'and the collar part of the nut 22, said disc resting on the membrane by means of a concentric bead provided at the lower part.
Opposite this packing of the disc 23, on the lower side of the diaphragm 21, is arranged a ring 24, which is pressed from below against the diaphragm 21 by means of a lamellar spring 25, in the form of a cross, fixed to the nut 22. The central part of the mambrane, which is limited by the ring 24, is also pierced with air passage openings 21 '. The lower housing half 20 ", forming the fixed limitation on the pneumatic chamber 26, has a concentric opening 27, in the form of a nozzle and conical, extending downwards, into which the part engages. with corresponding conical shape, with a bolt 29 screw-

se in the corresponding thread hole of the caliper 28.
The tip 29 'of the threaded bolt 29, provided with a rotation button 30, abuts against a central fixing screw of the leaf spring 25 and can, with a view to locking the connecting rod 8, be screwed until it comes into contact with the locking rod 8.
The primary circuit supplied by a dry battery or with ac- comulators, is brought above the switch contacts 12 'and 15. At one end Z of the secondary winding, is connected, in a known manner. fence to be loaded, while the other end of the high voltage winding is brought to the earth through line E. At an auxiliary closing point of the high voltage winding, a capacitor C to prevent sparking at switch contacts 12 and 15.
The mode of operation of this device is as follows: by unscrewing the threaded bolt 28 by means of the pressure button 30, which is located outside the housing of the device, not shown, so as to move it out of position stop shown in fig.l, the connecting rod is released for an axial sliding movement pushed down under the action of the spring 7. ' This communicates, through the trainer 9, a tilted. ment towards the bottom of the leaf spring 11, this by qupi the branches of the U-spring 16 are pushed towards each other.
As soon as, after the maximum tension of the spring 16, the neutral position thus reached, of the leaf spring 10 has been exceeded by a further movement of the driver 9, the U-spring 16 switches into the aut- be oblique position and the spring 11 switches, as a result of pos. Ability to relax, sharply upward until the contact head 12 abuts against the fixed opposite contact 15, whereby the primary circuit is suddenly closed.
By a downward movement of the rod 8, the air is forced out of the chamber 26 by the membrane arranged at its lower end through the nozzle 27 opened by screwing the bolt 29 back into its cone, this
<Desc / Clms Page number 5>
whereby, depending on the position of the threaded bolt, the movement of the connecting rod 8 controlling the switch can be delayed, so that the number of switchings per unit of time can be adjusted at will. The magnetic flux induced in the iron core 3 by closing the primary circuit, attracts the armature 18 and, at the same time the connecting rod 8 and, immediately after their return in position, there is an interruption of the primary current following the triggering of the reverse movement of the switch device 9,10,11 and 16.
By the lifting movement of the diaphragm 21 caused by the rod 8, there is an underpressure in the pneumatic chamber 26, whereby the beaded edge of the disc 23, by the flexibility of the leaf spring 25, rises. membrane so that air, for pressure uniformity, can enter chamber 26 through holes 21 'in the membrane.
The device described for the production of high voltage current pulses is distinguished by low fragility in use, thanks to the fact that parts subject to wear are omitted in the switch, which ensures great strength. The particular embodiment of the switch device makes possible a space-saving construction of the object of the invention, and free adjustment of contact intervals during switch-off time. - switch by means of a single adjustment member, thus resulting in lower current consumption and relatively long use of the battery used, for example, as a current source.
