2:3a in Verbindung steht.
Centrifugal switch for switching devices on the braking systems of fast-moving railway vehicles to regulate the braking effect according to the driving speed. The invention relates to centrifugal power switches that are used in modern rail vehicles traveling at high speeds.
The centrifugal switch according to the invention is characterized by the fact that centrifugal masses or centrifugal weights that are exposed to centrifugal force are each arranged in a housing attached to the end face of an axle journal, where they are under the influence of springs, counteract and counteract the effect of centrifugal force where they are only able to act on the contact pins when they approach one another as a result of the decrease in the rotational speed of the axle journal.
The effect of the centrifugal masses on the contact pins results in an interruption in the current, where the switching device influenced by the current influences the braking effect in the sense of a reduction. Another essential feature of the centrifugal switch according to the invention can be seen in the fact that the contact pins are released from the flywheels when they move away from one another under the influence of the centrifugal force and therefore do not cause any destructive,
with increasing speed see increasing forces. are exposed.
Since the force of gravity affects the centrifugal masses at a very low speed of the stub axle or when it is at a standstill in such a way that, under certain conditions, it could cause an undesirable influence on the contact pins, it is useful. a balance of gravity in relation to the flywheels, the centrifugal force regulator to bring about, z.
B. in that the spaces in which .the centrifugal masses are, are filled with 01 and are connected to each other through channels in such a way that the gravitational action of one centrifugal mass He generated the fluid pressure of: the effect of gravity, which counteracts other centrifugal masses.
The drawing illustrates an exemplary embodiment of the subject matter of the invention, namely: Fig. 1 shows a vertical longitudinal section through the centrifugal switch attached to the stub axle of a vehicle, with reference to the axis from the side; Fig. 2 shows an end view of the scarf age with partial longitudinal section; Fig. 3 shows the view of a switch housing from above; Fig. 4 shows in section the arrangement of the means provided to compensate for the effect of gravity.
A middle part 2 as a support for the regulator housing is fastened to the stub 1 by means of the visual surfaces. This middle part is designed so that on two of its opposite sides the cylindrical housing 4 and 5 can be fastened by means of the 'screws 6.
In an axial bore of the central part 2, a sleeve 7 made of insulating material is inserted; it is in the butt 1 screwed to the axis, i.e. with this central part running around \? stored with ball bearings 8 and 9 and is held by the cables 10 and 11, which are fed through the wall 12 of the axle sleeve.
The cable 10 or a pin connected to it is passed through the longitudinal bore of the insulating bushing 7 up to a metallic, ie current-conducting pin 13 located therein, on which the inner race of the ball bearing 9 is located. The cable 11 is closed to the inner, so fixed race of the ball bearing .8.
A metallic, electrically conductive pin 14 establishes the connection between the outer, with the fastened to the stub axle 1 th middle part 2 circumferential race of the ball bearing 9 and an in an insulating layer 15 of the middle part attached me metallic .Stift 16 from. A spring 18 located between a collar of the pin 16 and a collar of a contact pin bridges the space between the pins 16 and 17 and seeks the pin 17 to press the contact piece 19 fixed in the housing 4.
A cylindrical swing weight 20 encloses the contact pin 17 by means of an insulating bushing 21 which can be displaced on the latter and is under the action of the spring 22, which tries to push the swing weight 20 towards the center of the axis. In the cylindrical housing 5 there is an identical flywheel 20a, which is under the action of the spring 22a and with the insulating sleeve 21a around the contact pin 17a; the spring 18a separates the pins 17a and 16a, and the latter is connected to the outer race of the ball bearing 8 by the pin 14a mounted in the insulating material.
The operation of the centrifugal switch described is as follows: If the number of revolutions of the axle is butt above a certain value (more than about 45 km / h), the flyweights 20 and 20a assume the position shown in FIG. The contact pins 17 and 17a are completely free of their influence and are pressed by the springs 18 and 18a against the contacts 19 and 19a fixed in the housings 4 and 5.
Assuming that the cable 10 is connected to the positive pole and the cable 11 is connected to the negative pole of the power source, there is then the following current-carrying connection between the cables 10 and 11: from the cable 10 via the pin 13, the ball bearing 9, the pin 14, the pin 16, the spring 18, the contact pin 17, the contact 19 fixed in the housing 4, the housing 4, the screws 6, the housing 5, the contact 19a, the contact pin 17a, the spring 18a, the pin 16a, the pin 14a, the ball bearing 8 to the cable 11.
If the speed and thus the centrifugal force acting on the flyweights 20 and 20a has decreased so much (45 km / hour and below) that the springs 22 are able to push the flyweights back, they counteract the contact pins 17 and 17a the springs 18 and 18a with and interrupt the current, whereby in a known manner the changeover of a switching device, not shown, takes place, which causes a reduction in the braking effect.
So that gravity cannot pull the flyweights down when the axle journal rotates slowly or when the vehicle is stationary, the device shown in Fig. 1 is made, according to which the cylinder space surrounding the flyweights 20 and 20a is filled with 01 .ge and the each outer cylinder space for one of the flyweights with the inner cylinder space for the other of the flyweights. 2: 3a is in communication. A sinking of the swing weights into the lowest position is then impossible.
