Description

Skis with metal edges. The subject matter of the present invention is a ski with metal edges, in which metal rails are arranged in recesses in the ski side surfaces and are held movably in their longitudinal direction by means of cover plates on the ski.

The drawing shows as Ausführungsbei game of the subject invention in Figure 1 on a larger scale, a ski in section; FIG. 2 shows a partial view of the assembled metal edge with cover plate, seen from the side, and FIG. 3 shows a partial view of the metal rail which forms the edge.

The metal rail 1 is on the side surfaces of the ski 2 in recesses is arranged. 3 represents an existing protective edge made of synthetic material, which expediently extends over the entire length of the ski. The cover plate 4, which is attached to the ski by means of screws 5, forms together with the wood of the ski side a guide in which the metal rail can move in its longitudinal direction.

The metal rail 1, which has a rectangular profile in the exemplary embodiment, can be provided with slots 6 at certain intervals to reduce the resistance to bending of the ski, and the holes 7, which are used to pass through the screws 5, can have an elongated shape, to allow displacements between the metal rail and ski wood. The cover plate 4 can be divided into short pieces. Means can be provided which prevent the cover plate from resting firmly on the metal rail.

The profile of the metal rail need not be rectangular; In particular, the metal rail can be provided with longitudinal webs which engage in corresponding recesses in the cover plate.
