Apparatus for loading and unloading containers for compressed and liquefied gases. The invention relates to an apparatus for loading and unloading containers for compressed and liquefied gases.
The invention consists in that a shut-off valve and an adjustable pressure reducing and safety valve are provided, which are connected to one another in such a way that when the apparatus is operated, the shut-off valve opens before the reducing valve and closes later than the reducing valve.
An embodiment of the invention is shown on the accompanying drawings Darge.
The figure shows the apparatus in a vertical section with the valves open. The apparatus has a valve housing 2 which is to be screwed onto a conventional container 1 for compressed and liquefied gases. In the valve housing 2 from a closing valve body 3 is screwed by means of the thread 3a. In the lower part of the closing valve body 3 from an ebonite pack 4 is arranged. Parts 2, 3 and 4 form the shut-off valve B.
In the lower part of a hollow valve rod 6, a cylindrical transverse pin 34 is attached, which carries a movable coupling member 5. The lower end of the coupling element 5 can slide in a groove 36 which is provided in the shut-off valve body 3. A rotary movement of the valve rod 6 is transmitted to the valve body 3 by means of the coupling element 5.
Above the coupling member 5, a ring 35 is screwed in the lower cavity of the valve rod 6, on which a Fil ter 33 rests.
The valve housing 2 has at the top an externally threaded neck 2a, onto which a screw cap 7 is screwed. A sealing ring 8 is arranged between the inner bottom surface of the screw cap 7 and the end surface of the neck of the valve housing 2.
A sleeve 9 is screwed onto the external thread of the screw cap 7, which carries a shoulder 10 on each side parallel to the central axis. These lugs 10 reach through the wall 37 seated on a hub 37a of a setting sleeve 11 serving as a handwheel. If the sleeve 11 is rotated ver, will. . The approaches 10 and there with the sleeve 9 taken along, and they are also moved in the axial direction. The hub 37a has a square bore for the appropriately designed. middle part of the valve rod 6.
The wall 37 rests with the mediation of rings 12, on the upper, end face of the socket 7 and is pressed by a spring 13 ge down. The upper end of the spring 13 is against; a bushing 14 which is provided with a shoulder which is screwed onto the upper end of the valve rod 6 with a packing 15 interposed.
An outer, stronger spring 16 is net between washers 17 and 18 angeord. The disk 17 rests on the projections 10, and therefore follows any axial displacements thereof. A flexible cap-shaped septum 21 is clamped at its outer edge against an inner shoulder of the adjusting sleeve 11 by a cover 19 ge.
The upper, pierced part of the septum 21 is clamped between a shoulder of the socket 14 by a nut 20 which is screwed onto the upper part of the socket 14.
A cap 22, which runs conically at the top and is guided on the nut 20, rests on the partition wall 21. One end of a rocker arm 23 rests on the cap 2.2 on each side of the central axis. The other ends of these rocker arms are hinged to the nut 20 and are held in position by a nut 24.
The nut 24 is screwed onto a piston 25 which is widened on the part sensitive to the socket 14 and carries an ebonite pack 261. This lower end of the piston 25 is pressed against the end of the bore in the valve rod 6 by a spring 2.7. The end of the valve rod and the widened part of the piston 25 located in the socket 14 form the reducing valve A.
The valve housing 2. has a Stut zen 2.8 on which a cap 30 is screwed with the interposition of a seal 31, in which a pressure gauge 29 is attached.
The mode of operation of the apparatus is as follows: When the apparatus is closed, the shut-off valve body 3 of the shut-off valve B sits tightly on the seat 38. The upper reducing valve A is also closed by the piston 2: 5 being pressed onto the tip of the valve rod 6 by the spring 2.7. The spring 27 is calculated in such a way that it can withstand the greatest boost pressure for the container 1. The spring 16 is stronger than the spring 217.
If gas is to be loaded into the container 1, the manometer 29 is removed and a high-pressure charging tube is screwed into the .stutzen 2,8, 30 in its place. Then the adjusting sleeve 11 is rotated so many turns that the shut-off valve body 8 is lifted from its seat 38, while the additional tension of the spring 16 that occurs at the same time is not sufficient to open the upper reducing valve A as well.
The shut-off valve B and the valve A, which serves as a pressure reducing and safety valve, are connected to one another in such a way that, when the device is operated, the shut-off valve B in front of the reducing valve A opens and @ y) earlier than the reducing valve A closes.
When the gas charged into the container 1 has reached the required pressure, which is determined by the strength of the spring 27, the valve A opens and the gas escapes through the channel 32 in the cover 1.9. The shut-off valve B is then closed. and the pressure gauge 29 is screwed in again. The opening and regulation of the pressure reducing valve A are carried out by regulating the tension of the spring 16 by means of the adjusting sleeve 11 by the lugs 1-0, which are carried along by the wall 37 of the adjusting sleeve 11 seated on the hub 37a, the spring 16 Press more or less together depending on the setting of the socket.
The pressure reduction and the automatic closing of the reducing valve A is brought about by the piston 25, which is under the influence of the two springs 16, 27 and the flexible .Sscheidewand 21, which are influenced by the adjusting sleeve 11.
If gas is to be removed from the container 1, the lower shut-off valve B is opened by turning the adjusting sleeve 11 accordingly. During this rotation of the adjusting sleeve 11, the lugs 10 of the sleeve 9 raise the washer 17, as a result of which the spring 16 presses against the flexible partition 21. By this pressure, the cap 22 is lifted and the lever 23 is rotated in such a way that the nut 24 together with the piston 25 are raised against the action of the spring 217 and valve A is opened.
As indicated by arrows in the figure, the gas flows from the container 1 through the vertical central channel of the valve housing 2, through two small inclined channels of the closing valve body 3 into the cavity surrounding the coupling member 5, then through the filter 33 into the axial bore of the valve rod 6 and around the lower part of the piston 25 into the space containing the spring 27, then through holes in the nut 20 into the He'araum the cover 19 and from there into the channel 32.
The button of the lid 19 containing this channel 32 can be connected to a hose which contains a dispensing valve for the delivery of the gas. If no gas delivery is desired, the dispensing valve of the hose is closed, whereby the pressure on the upper surface of the flexible Caheide wall 2.1 increases until it reaches the. Pressure of the underlying spring 16- overcomes and the reducing valve A closes.
