Elektrischer Schalter.
Electric switch. The invention relates to an electrical switch with arc extinguishing by compressed gas. It consists in the fact that a switching tube surrounding the movable switching pin is provided, which consists of a gas-emitting material under the action of the arc. One end of the switching tube is closed by a chamber that holds the fixed switching contact ent and is only filled with air, whereas the switching pin emerges from the other end of the switching tube during the shutdown process. so that when the switch is open between the sem end of the interrupter and the tip of the switch pin there is an air separation section.
This switch has the advantage of greater simplicity and operational reliability over known similar switches that hold a release chamber filled with a switching fluid.
An exemplary embodiment of the invention is explained below with reference to the drawing. 1 shows a view, partly in section, while FIG. 2 shows the arc extinguishing device on a larger scale.
1 with a wall frame is referred to, on which the two post insulators 2 and 8 are attached and on which the switching isolator 4 is rotatably mounted. The insulator 2 carries the extinguishing device. This consists of the interrupter 12 from a material that emits gas under the action of an arc, one end of which is closed by the metal capsule 5, which encloses the fixed switch contact 10, which consists of several lamellae and is held together by a coil spring 11 closed to form a ring, and is only filled with air is.
The interrupter 12 encloses the free end of the movable switching pin 6, the other end of which is ausgebil det as a guide rod 7 and is moved by the switching isolator 4 with means of the fork 8. The guide rod 7, which preferably consists of flat rails, is guided straight through the sliding contact 9, which is fastened to the insulator 3.
When switching off the tip of the switching pin 6, which is in the switched-on position, as can be seen from the drawing, with the fixed switching contact 10 in engagement, leaves this, an arc is drawn in the switching tube 12, and consequently a lot of extinguishing gas cleared and brought to high pressure, so that at the latest when the switching pin 6 emerges from the switching tube 12, a strong gas flow that extinguishes the arc arises.
Hartg ummi can be used as the gas-emitting material for the switch tube. This has the advantage over the substances otherwise used for this purpose that it not only gives off gas easily under the influence of the electric arc, but is also unhygroscopic. However, as experience has shown, sufficient gas development can only be achieved even with small cut-off currents if the clear diameter of the interrupter made of hard rubber is kept very small and air spaces are also avoided in the contact chamber closing the interrupter on one side.
With regard to the switching pin 6, this has the consequence that the pin diameter must also be kept very small. When using copper as the switching pin material, the pin is likely to cope with the switching stresses in electrical, but not mechanical, and can easily bend, making the switch unusable. It is therefore useful to make the switching pin from an electrically conductive material of great mechanical strength, in particular tool steel. Such a switching pin proves to be robust in every respect.
However, steel has the undesirable property of melting pearls forming at the base of the arcing. If these melt pearls, which later harden, protrude beyond the cross section of the pin, there is a risk that the considerably softer gas-emitting material of the interrupter will be torn during the subsequent activation.
For this reason, it is advantageous to make the tip of the steel switch pin made of another metal that has proven to be particularly suitable in terms of melting pearl formation when interrupting large currents, such as copper or corresponding alloys such as copper Tungsten.
Thin switch pins designed in this way have proven themselves well for the transmission of current during the switching operations. For the transmission of the continuous current, however, a special pair of contacts 21, 22 is expediently provided, the contact 21 being attached to the outside of the contact chamber 5, while the contact 22, which is, for example, knife-like, is rigidly connected to the guide rod 7 is. When switching off, the contacts 21, 22 open earlier than the switching contacts 6, 10.
If no permanent contacts are to be used in addition to the actual switching contacts, it is necessary to execute the switching pin 6 with a larger diameter. However, as already stated above, difficulties arise with regard to reliable arc extinguishing when small currents are interrupted because of the The drawn arc is not so strong that it comes into such intimate contact with the walls of the switching tube surrounding the switch pin that the amount of compressed gas required to extinguish the arc is generated.
This fact can be remedied by that one, as indicated in Fig. 1 in dashed lines, connects the con tact chamber 5 with a line 13 for an additional pressurized gas blowing. The arcs of small currents are extinguished by the compressed air introduced via the line 13, whereas this additional blowing is not necessary when large currents are interrupted.
In order to prevent the switching gases from flowing off to this additional compressed gas source and contaminating the connection line made of insulating material and reducing its insulation strength with these higher shutdown powers, where the pressure generated by the arc in the extinguishing arrangement 5, 12 outweighs the pressure of the additional compressed gas source A check valve 14 is provided in the connecting line 13 close to the contact chamber 5.
In the execution example shown in the drawing, the generation of the additional union pressure gas takes place in a cylinder provided on the switch itself, in which a piston 15 is moved by a crank 16 mounted on the switch shaft.
