Electric light bulb in the shape of a candle flame. The invention relates to those electric incandescent lamps which by and large have the shape of a candle flame.
Such lamps could not be produced in a usable form with a bulb made of translucent, so-called opal glass, although a diffuse light, which is similar to the candle flame, would be desirable with these incandescent lamps, since they could only be produced as vacuum lamps and therefore for They tend to blacken quickly, which means that lamps with opal glass bulbs take on a dirty gray color after a short burning time.
In turn, these lamps could not be filled with gas because the bulb wall becomes much too hot due to the heat conduction of the gas.
The lamp according to the invention is an incandescent lamp in the form of a candle flame with a bulb. Made of opal glass, wel che has a helically wound incandescent body, a gas filling made of krypton and a gas pressure of more than 200 mm mercury column. An amount of argon or nitrogen or both gases can be mixed into the krypton, which is less than the amount of the krypton.
The purpose of adding nitrogen is to prevent arc discharges in the lamp. The lamp can be made cheaper by adding argon, since the desired effect does not necessarily require 100 Kry = pton, but only such an amount of krypton that is greater than the amount of all other gases.
The more than 200 mm mercury gas pressure exceeding krypton filling makes it possible to create a gas-filled flame shaped like a candle. to produce electric light bulbs whose walls do not get excessively warm without going beyond the dimensions of the candle lamp that are common today. The gas filling and the resulting reduction in blackening make it possible in turn to use a bulb made of opal glass and in this way to produce a lamp with purely diffuse light.
In addition to the above-mentioned advantages, the lamp described also has the known advantages of krypton filling, etc., the increased economy and service life, as well as the much whiter light. With the invention, the quality of the lamp reaches that of normal lamps, so that the more manageable shape is combined with good quality and enables the designated incandescent lamp to be widely used.
The bulb of the lamp can consist of opal flashed glass in a manner known per se.
