the flask is inserted, bright red. When pumping, which takes place with moderate heating, this substance turns blue because of the degree of dryness that occurs and this color remains until the piston is damaged later, which means that air enters the interior, whereupon the indicator substance is extremely brief Time inevitably turns bright red and it can thus be seen that the piston is damaged and no longer usable.
The color change to light red can be perceived even better if the display material is applied to an indifferent blue background; If air enters the flask, the water vapor will react with the indicator substance, so that a light red spot on a blue background can be seen.
It is particularly important that the indicator material does not interfere with the light-permeability of the bulb. For this purpose you can use the substance z. B. attach to the support frame of the lamp, as indicated in the figure.
The figure, which shows only one exemplary embodiment, shows a conventional incandescent lamp.
The piston 2 is attached to the sleeve 1. The incandescent body 4 is carried by the support wires through the support frame 3 on which the indicator material is attached at 5. When ready for use, this has a blue color if a cobalt compound is used as an indicator. However, if air enters the lamp in any way, this bruise turns light red in a very short time, which means that it can be seen that the bulb contains air and the gas it contains can no longer be used in the manufacture of lamps .
PATENT CLAIMS:
1. Electric incandescent lamp or discharge tube with a gas filling mainly containing krypton, xenon or both gases or with a filling with similar valuable gases, characterized in that the bulb contains an indicator substance which changes color when it reacts with a component of the atmospheric air.
