La fig. 1 est une élévation, en coupe par tielle, d'une voiture à carrosserie transfor- mable montrant une forme d'exécution de la commande de l'arbre d'actionnement des di vers organes; La fig. 2 est une vue de détail en coupe montrant une première forme d'exécution des organes d'actionnement du couvercle du ré- ceptacle arrière et du déplacement de la par tie mobile de la carrosserie; La fig. 3 est une perspective du véhicule vu de l'arrière, le couvercle du réceptacle ar rière étant enlevé; La fig. 4 est une vue de détail, à plus grande échelle, montrant le dispositif de com mande de la man@uvre du couvercle du ré ceptacle arrière et de la partie mobile de la carrosserie;
La fig. 5 montre en coupe une variante de réalisation des organes d'actionnement du couvercle du réceptacle arrière et du déplace ment de la partie mobile de la carrosserie; La fig. 6 est un profil partiel de la fig. 5 vue de l'arrière; La fig. 7 est une vue de détail du dispo sitif d'entraînement à chaîne interrompue représenté aux fig. 5 et 6;
(fig.
Un inverseur manuel 86 et trois inverseurs automatiques 87, 88 et 89 sont prévus pour réaliser automatiquement la suite des opérations suivantes, le moteur étant supposé tourner dans le sens convenable: 10 Levée du couvercle 6 du spider 5 par mise en action de l'embrayage magnétique 76 et mise hors d'action de l'embrayage ma gnétique 75; 20 Amenée de l'élément mobile 1 dans le spider 5 par mise hors d'action de l'em brayage magnétique 76 et mise en action de l'embrayage magnétique 75; 30 Abaissement du couvercle 6 du spider 5 par mise hors d'action de l'embrayage ma gnétique 75 et mise en action de l'embrayage magnétique 76;
Convertible bodywork for motor vehicles. The present invention relates to a transformable bodywork for mobile vehicles, characterized in that a movable element of the body, consisting of the roof and lateral parts integral with this roof and forming with it a rigid assembly, is movable. by a movement consisting mainly of a translation to be returned to a receptacle placed at the rear of the vehicle body.
The accompanying drawing, given by way of example only, shows various embodiments of a convertible bodywork established according to the invention.
Fig. 1 is an elevation, in part section, of a convertible body car showing an embodiment of the control of the actuating shaft of the various components; Fig. 2 is a detailed sectional view showing a first embodiment of the actuators of the cover of the rear receptacle and of the movement of the movable part of the body; Fig. 3 is a perspective of the vehicle seen from the rear with the rear receptacle cover removed; Fig. 4 is a detail view, on a larger scale, showing the device for controlling the operation of the cover of the rear receptacle and of the movable part of the body;
Fig. 5 shows in section an alternative embodiment of the actuators of the cover of the rear receptacle and of the movement of the movable part of the body; Fig. 6 is a partial profile of FIG. 5 rear view; Fig. 7 is a detail view of the interrupted chain drive device shown in FIGS. 5 and 6;
Fig. 8 is a perspective view of another embodiment of the device for controlling the movement of the movable part, a damping device being removed; Fig. 9 is a longitudinal section thereof; Fig. 10 shows in perspective a variant of the form shown in FIGS. 8 and 9; Fig. 11 is a sectional view thereof; Fig. 12 is a diagram of the electrical connections.
In the embodiment shown in FIGS. 1, 2, 3 and 5, the movable element 1 of the bodywork comprises the roof proper as well as the side parts 2 and the rear part 3 located above the body itself 4 of the bodywork. The rear receptacle 5 commonly called spider is normally closed by a cover 6 articulated around a shaft 7 parallel to the axis of the axles of the vehicle. The lifting of the cover 6 is obtained with the aid of two groups of links arranged on the sides of the cover.
The rod 8 is articulated, on the one hand, at 9 to the cover 6 and, on the other hand, to the end 10 of a crank arm 11 wedged on a shaft 12 supported by bearings 13 fixed to the side members. 14 of the vehicle chassis - for example. Springs 15, arranged around the articulation shaft 7 of the spider cover or in any other suitable place, on the articulations of the rods for example, ten dent to fold the cover 6 to close the spider. Lateral 16 and central 17 guide ramps are fixed to the body 4 and to the longitudinal members 14 of the vehicle, for example.
Rollers 18 are mounted idle on pins fixed on lugs 19 integral with the rear part 3 of the movable element 1 of the coach and are arranged so as to roll respectively on the upper and lower faces of the guide ramps 16 and 17. These ramps 16 and 17 have corresponding profiles established so that the movable element 1 of the bodywork comes to be placed in the spider 5 of the vehicle. The relative position of the various rollers 18, rolling respectively on the lateral and central rams 16 and 17, is such that at all times this movable element 1 is perfectly guided and maintained without risk of tilting.
Stops can be provided at the end of the stroke to support the convertible part when it is in place in the spider, so as to prevent this movable element being supported only by the guide rams 16 and 17 during the running of the vehicle. vehicle. Stops 19a are, on the other hand, provided at the lower end of the ramps 16 and 17 for the rollers 18. The displacement of the movable element 1 of the series body is obtained, for example, using 'a chain 20 secured to said movable element 1 and which moves parallel to the guide ramps. This chain 20 is guided by rollers 21 mounted idle on pins fixed to the central guide ramps 17.
This chain 20 meshes with a pinion 22 integral with a toothed pinion 23 which meshes with a toothed sector 24 wedged on a shaft 25 journalled in appropriate consoles or bearings supported by the frame or other fixed part of the vehicle. A chain pinion 26, integral with the toothed sector 24 is controlled by a chain 27, the ends of which are fixed, in the example shown, to the ends of the cables 28. These cables are guided by rollers 29 and their movement is controlled. using all appropriate means. For example, the free ends of the cable are fixed to a chain 30 engaged with a pinion 31 driven in rotation by means of a crank 33 and a gear reduction wheel and worm 34.
One could also use an electric motor or the engine of the car by using a gear change device and, further, in the case of using the engine of the car, a suitable clutch.
On the control shaft 12 of the cover lifting links is wedged a toothed pinion 32 which meshes with the toothed sector 24. Assuming that the toothed sector follows in engagement with the pinion 32, as shown in FIG. 4, we see that, if we rotate as indicated above, the toothed sector 24 of sufficient amplitude A. B to cause a suitable rotation of the shaft 12, and as a result of the links 8 and 11, the cover 6 rises and opens the spider 5. During this first movement and as a result of the arrangement of the sector toothed 24.1e pinion 23 is not rotated and therefore the movable element 1 of the body remains in place.
At the end of this movement, the toothed sector engages the pinion 23. During the second movement of amplitude BC, this pinion 23 is dragged in rotation and, as explained above, it causes the displacement of the movable element 1 to bring it into the spider 5. At the end of this movement, the toothed sector 24 again engages the pinion 32 and a rotation of this sector of amplitude CD = AB </ I > causes the spider to close. The rods 8 and 11 come in the position shown in dotted lines in FIG. 2 of the drawing if we assume that at the beginning they were in the position drawn in solid lines.
A rotation in the opposite direction of the toothed sector 24 results in a similar operation: or opening of the spider, reinstallation of the movable element 1 on the body 4 of the carriage, closing of the spider.
In the embodiment of the control device shown in FIGS. 5, 6 and 7, the principle of the device remains the same, only the arrangement and the mode of actuation of the various organs differ. The shaft 12 for controlling the movement of the cover 6 of the spider 5 is placed towards the free end of this cover in other words at the upper part (see spider 5. The arrangement of the rods 8 and 11 remains the same as before, except that the length of the connecting rods is greater at the equal vee of the cover 6. The chain sprocket 26 is idle on the shaft 23a comprising the pin 22 in engagement with the chain 20 for actuating the movable element 1 .
Each of the ar bers 19 and 23a comprises three pinions 35, 36 and 37 for the shaft 12, 38, 39 and 40 for the ar ber 23a arranged opposite one another. The pinions 35, 37, 38 and 40 are idle on their respective shafts, but the pinion 38 is joined to the chain pinion 26; the pinions 36 and 39 are respectively fixed to the shafts 12 and 23a. On these two groups of pinions is mounted a chain 41, the middle strand of which, in engagement with pinions 36 and 39, is interrupted so that it is only engaged at any time with one of these pinions ( fig. 7).
When the pinion 38 is driven through the pinion 26 in the direction of arrow f, it drives the chain 41 which rotates the pinion 36 by a sufficient amount to cause the lifting of the spider cover 6, the chain 41 then comes into engagement with the pinion 39 which it drags to cause the movement of the movable element 1 of the body, then it again drags the pinion 36 to close the spider. Operation in reverse produces a similar result, namely: or spider opening, vehicle recapotage, spider closing.
In the embodiment shown in FIGS. 8 and 9, we will only describe the means used for moving the movable element 1 and only the parts of the mechanism if killed on one side of the car, it being understood that these parts are reproduced identically on the other side.
Two rigid levers 40 and 41 are articulated respectively, on the one hand, at 42 and 43 on the side wall 2 of the roof and, on the other hand, at a fixed point 44 of the body and around a shaft. 45. Points 42, 43, 44 and 45 constitute the vertices of an articulated quadrilateral. In the case where the displacement of the roof is a geometrical translation, this quadrilateral becomes a parallelogram but, in practice and due to the shape and the arrangement of the spider, it is necessary that the roof tilts slightly towards the rear. , the word translation being taken in a more extended sense than its purely geometrical sense, which requires the points 42, 43, 44 and 45 to be somewhat displaced with respect to the vertices of the parallelogram.
On the lever 41 and at an intermediate point is fixed a pin 46 on which is mounted a toothed pinion 47 integral with a chain pinion 48. The toothed pinion 47 in granulated with a fixed toothed sector 49. A chain pinion 50, wedged at the end of the shaft 45, drives in rotation, by means of a chain 51, the pinion 48 and consequently the pinion 47. On the shaft 45 is wedged a helical wheel 52 engaged with an endless screw 53 wedged on the shaft of an electric motor 54 mounted on a cross member 55 of the vehicle chassis for example.
A damping device is mounted between a point 56 located on one of the levers and a fixed point 57 of the body or other fixed member. This damping device consists of a cylinder 58, articulated at 56 on the lever 41, in which a piston 59 moves, the rod 60 of which is articulated at a fixed point 57. A spring 61 is interposed between the piston 59 and the base. 62 of the cylinder located on the side of the articulation 57.
It can be seen that, in this way, when the roof is either in place on the bodywork as shown in solid lines in FIG. 9, or in the spider as shown in phantom in this figure, the spring 61 is compressed and therefore tends to promote the movement of said roof at the start of the movement. The operation of the device is as follows: The motor 54 can turn in both directions and an appropriate control device is provided to determine this direction of rotation according to the position of the mobile roof 1.
Assuming the roof in place on the body of the body, the motor is started to drive the shaft 45 in the direction of arrow f; the pinion 48 rotates in the same direction and it can be seen that the lever 41. (fig. 9) rotates in the direction of clockwise, driving the movable element 1 to drive it in the spider.
By rotating the engine 54 in the opposite direction, the vehicle recovers. It is obvious that the device for automatically reversing the direction of travel to the extreme positions can be absolutely any conch.
In the embodiment shown in FIGS. 10 and 11, the movement of the movable element 1 is also obtained using levers 40 and 41 whose points of articulation 42, 44 and 43, 45 form the vertices of one. articulated quadrila. But in this form of execution, one of the groups of levers only has a single lever 41 which is arranged in the axis of the width of the movable element 1 and the operating means act on this single lever. .
These maneuvering means consist of a screw 65 movable in rotation but axially abutment. This screw 65 engages in a threaded nut 66 mounted in articulation on the median lever 41. The screw 65 is mounted by a universal joint 67 at the end of a shaft 68 at the other end of which is keyed. a chain pinion 69. This pinion 69 is driven in rotation by a chain 70 meshing with another chain pinion 71 wedged on the secondary shaft of a suitable speed reducer 72, so as to obtain a high reduction and therefore to use an ordinary electric motor of low power.
The primary shaft 73 of this reducer is driven by an electric motor 74 with two windings 92 and 93 (fig. 12), by means of a magnetic clutch 75. The electric motor 74 with two directions of rotation controls , on the other hand, by the intermediary of a magnetic clutch 76 and a reduction gear 77, a toothed pinion 78 which meshes with a toothed wheel 79. This wheel 79 is wedged on a shaft 80. This shaft 80, which extends over the entire width of the series body, carries, at each of its ends, a crank plate, one of which can be constructed, as shown in FIGS. 10 and 11, by the toothed wheel 79.
Each of these crank plates carries a crank pin 81 on which is articulated a connecting rod 82, the other end of which is articulated at the end of a lever 83 ft voted at 84 on the body 4 of the bodywork. The other end of the lever 83 is articulated to the cover 6 of the spider by means of a rod 85.
A manual reverser 86 and three automatic reversers 87, 88 and 89 are provided to automatically carry out the following operations, the engine being supposed to turn in the correct direction: 10 Lifting of the cover 6 of the spider 5 by actuation of the clutch magnetic 76 and disabling of the magnetic clutch 75; Feeding of the movable element 1 into the spider 5 by disabling the magnetic clutch 76 and actuating the magnetic clutch 75; 30 Lowering the cover 6 of the spider 5 by disabling the magnetic clutch 75 and activating the magnetic clutch 76;
40 Automatic cut-off of the supply circuit of the electric motor 74 and change of the connections of the circuit of this motor to obtain the running in the opposite direction during the following operation which will occur when the user closes the circuit again. 'supply of said motor 74. This new operation producing the same operations as in the previous case except that the supply of the movable element 1 in the spider is replaced by the supply of this movable element 1 of the spider on the body 4 of the vehicle.
One embodiment of these electrical circuits is shown, by way of example, in FIG. 12 in which the same reference numerals denote the same bodies as in FIGS. 10 and 11. The automatic reverser 87 or general limit switch inverter changes the direction of rotation of the motor 74 by closing, using. relay 90 or 91, one or the other of the circuits of the inductors 92 and 93, the operation of the reverser occurring at the end of the closing stroke of the cover 6 of the spider. This inverter 87 is in series on the two circuits coming from the pads of the manual inverter 86 in two directions, the other pad of which is connected to the positive pole of a current source 94.
The inverters 88 and 89 are both placed in series on the two circuits mounted in parallel with the magnetic couplings 75 and 76. A contact 96 is provided, on the other hand, on these circuits and is actuated by an electromagnet whose winding 95 is bypassed across the armature of the motor 74, so that the contact 96 is closed when the motor 74 is running.
The inverter 88 operates at the end of the opening stroke of the cover 6 of the spider, while the inverter 89 operates at the end of the movement of the movable member 1 of the body.
The following operations will be obtained, assuming first that the car is hooded: a) opening of the spider, the inverter 88 operates, b) movement of the movable element 1 to bring it into the spider, the inverter 89 operates, c) closing of the spider, the reverser 87 operates, then by operating the manual reverser 86, we have: d) opening of the spider, the reverser 88 operates, e) displacement of the mobile element 1 to put it back in place on the body 4 of the bodywork, the inverter 89 operates, f) closing of the spider, the inverter 87 operates.
The letters indicated in the diagram correspond to the position of the inverters during the operations listed above and indicated by the same letters.
This diagram has been given only as an example; the operation of the automatic reversers can be controlled either by shooting the control shafts for the movement of the spider cover and that of the movable element 1 of the bodywork, or from the movable members themselves.
In the various embodiments, elastic devices can be provided which dampen the movement of the movable element 1 when it is placed in the spider 5, these elastic devices aiding movement when it is put back in place. of this movable element 1 on the body 4 of the coach, as shown in particular in FIG. 9.
Appropriate locking devices, of known type, can be provided to fix the movable element 1 of the bodywork on the uprights of the front window, for example, and, in the case where the actuation of said movable element 1 is obtained from an electric motor, a switch, mounted on the circuit of this motor, is combined with these fixing means to prevent any wrong operation and automatically cut off the motor circuit when these locking devices are in action; said switch, not shown, would be placed, for example, in series on the circuit of manual inverter 86 between the latter and the current source 94.
Force limiting devices can also be provided on the control members to prevent them. rupture in the event of a wrong move.
Suitable sealing devices are provided to prevent any infiltration of water at the location of the joints, between the movable element 1 and the body 4 of the body for example.
