Oxygen breathing apparatus. The present invention relates to an appropriate for protection against poison gases serving oxygen breathing apparatus with practically completely separate airways and consequently absolute circulatory breathing.
The previous devices of this type have only a partial separation of the breathing paths and a partial circuit, since the breathing valves of the device are installed behind the breathing hoses in a closed valve box. This has the disadvantage that with each inhalation of the wearer of the device, the used and carbonic acid-laden exhaled air in the breathing tubes is returned to the lungs as the first breathable air. The harmful effects of carbonic acidic air on the human organism are well known; the critical moment occurs at a carbonic acid content of 4%. The exhaled air is known to contain 4% carbonic acid.
The above-mentioned disadvantage is intended to be eliminated by the present invention. The oxygen breathing apparatus according to the invention is provided with a so-called lung demand valve set up for periodic feeding with oxygen, which is connected via two independent lines provided with breathing valves to a breathing set (mask or mouthpiece) to be placed by the wearer of the device that when the device is in operation, the wearer of the same can inhale fresh air from the luncheon machine via one line, while the other line is used to
the breathing air from the wearer of the device is fed back to the lung demand valve via a regeneration device for the purpose of refreshment with oxygen.
This oxygen breathing apparatus is characterized according to the invention in that the breathing valves are installed in front of the breathing lines, specifically directly in a connecting element used to establish the connection between the breathing lines and the breathing set; for the purpose on the one hand to reduce the dead space in the device to a minimum and on the other hand to facilitate the accessibility of the valves.
On the accompanying drawing, an embodiment of the subject invention is shown.
Fig. 1 shows in a schematic manner, with the protective cover removed, the assembly of the oxygen breathing apparatus; FIG. 2 is a side view of the oxygen breathing apparatus associated with FIG. 1, but with the protective cover in place; Fig. 3 shows respectively in side view. in longitudinal section a connection piece serving to produce the connec tion between the breathing tubes and the breathing fitting to be attached by the wearer of the device; Fig. 4 is a vertical section through a dosing device connected to the lung demand valve; Fig. 5 is a vertical section through a manually operable oxygen inlet valve, and Fig. 6 shows in vertical section a part of the exhalation line with a cooperating with this pressure relief valve of the regulator.
According to Fig. 1 and 2, 10 is a position for establishing the connection between a breathing line 11 and an exhalation line 12 independent of this on the one hand, and on the other hand a breathing set (mask or mouthpiece), not shown, to be placed by the wearer of the oxygen breathing device (mask or mouthpiece), 13 a regeneration cartridge switched on in the exhalation line 12, for example an alkaline cartridge, 14 a so-called Lun genautomat of a known type, in whose breathing bag 15 the exhalation line 12 opens, while from this the inhalation line 11 leads to the connector 10, 16 an oxygen bottle,
From wel cher from the breathing bag 15 in the operating state of the oxygen breathing device via a constant and automatically acting Do siervorrichtung 17 for the purpose of refreshing the oxygen taken from this bag from breathing air. The parts listed so far form the main parts of the oxygen breathing apparatus shown in FIGS. 1 and 2; they are, with the exception of the connecting member 10 and the un indirectly adjoining this inhalation and exhalation lines 11, 12 surrounded by a two-part protective housing.
To explain important details of the oxygen device according to FIGS. 1 and 2, various parts of the same are shown on a larger scale and mainly in section. So you can see, for example, from the longitudinal section of FIG. Exhalation valves 18 and 19 are installed. The installation and construction of these valves 18, 19 is so simple, as can be seen from the section according to FIG. 3, that there is no need for further explanation in this context. In addition, these valves can be any type; It is only important that the same are installed in front of the breathing lines 11 and 12, specifically directly in the connection piece 10.
As a result, not only the dead space in the device is reduced to a minimum, but the valves 18, 19 are more easily accessible and can therefore be checked with less effort than was previously possible.
The compressed oxygen in the oxygen bottle 16, which is provided with a closing valve 20, is reduced to a working pressure of 1.5 atmospheres by an adjustable reducing valve 21 (FIG. 1), so that the metering device 17 shown in vertical section in FIG dosed quantities of 1.6 l / min. the breathing bag 15 to be constantly supplied.
This dosage is based on the results of the oxygen demand of a person with medium work performance (marching speed 6 If, however, this dosage is not sufficient during the greatest exertion and thus with the greatest oxygen demand of the gas diver, the regulator 14 works as follows: So - soon the gas diver converts more air for breathing than the amount of oxygen supplied by the dosing device 17, the breathing bag 15 empties when inhaling.
The bag walls collapse and press on the free ends of two sensor organs 23 arranged in a horizontal plane, pivotably mounted at 23b, which are in the spread position in the normal operating state of the breathing device and in Fig. 4 only for the purpose of better illustration of their one valve 22 facing th, when thumb 23a formed ends were assumed to be lying in a vertical plane. As can be seen from Fig. 4, the two thumbs 23a are arranged to each other so that when caused by the action of the falling bag walls pivoting movement of the sensor elements 23 inward in the sense of opening the valve 22 on a threaded end part of the valve stem 22a screwed on cap piece 22b act.
As a result, oxygen flows into the breathing bag 15 under a pressure of 1.5 atmospheres and fills it. Now, however, the sensor organs are also relieved and are returned to their spread position by the pressure of a helical spring 24 arranged between the cap piece 22b and a clamping nut 25, the valve 22 being closed again at the same time. The tensioning force of the spring 24 can be regulated by means of the tensioning nut 25 to which a counter nut 25a is attached.
If the most extreme case should arise that, despite the additional supply of the breathing bag 15 through the valve 22, the oxygen is insufficient for whatever reason, the gas diver has the option of using a manually operated oxygen supply valve 26 (FIG. 1), whose construction can be seen from Fig. 5 to allow oxygen to flow into the breathing bag 15 in any mass. This subsequent flow of oxygen takes place in that the oxygen flows around the metering device 17 via two lines 28 and 29 (FIGS. 1 and 5) through pressure exerted on the valve button 27a, for example with the thumb, so that it flows directly into the breathing bag 15 reach.
The valve 26 is expediently attached to body straps serving to carry the device so that it can be easily reached by the gas diver.
Since the breathing bag 15 is periodically fed with oxygen, it is conceivable that overpressure is created in the device. To avoid this, a pressure relief valve 30 (FIG. 6) is installed in the wall section of the breathing bag 15 opposite the exhalation line.
The arrangement of this valve 30 is such that when the breathing bag 15 fills up tightly, the corresponding, bulging bag wall presses a button of the double valve 30 on the exhalation line, whereby the valve is opened. It follows from this that exhaled air escapes from the device until the pressure in the same reaches its normal value again.
Finally, it should be pointed out that the oxygen breathing device has a double-finimeter 31. This control and measuring instrument enables the gas diver not only to control the contents of the oxygen bottle, but also to control the dosage of the breathing bag 15. check.
