Le dessin annexé représente, à titre d'exemple, quelques dispositifs suivant l'in vention.
Clamping device intended to be placed around a limb. The present invention relates to a positive clamping device intended to be placed around a limb in order to exert a certain pressure on a part thereof, while leaving free a part of the clamped section of the limb.
The device forming the subject of the present invention consists of a hollow ring of elastic material inside which is housed a relatively rigid segment and substantially affecting the shape of a V.
The accompanying drawing represents, by way of example, some devices according to the invention.
Fig. 1 shows a dirty cross section of a ring; Fig. 2 is a section on A-A of FIG. 1; Figs. 3 and 4 are sections relating to rings of different sections; Fig. 5 shows a wristband made in accordance with the present invention. The device shown in FIGS. 1 and 2 consists of a hollow ring 1 made of rubber (or other elastic material), the interior cavity 3 of which contains over part of its extent a segment 2 which is relatively rigid and substantially in the shape of a V.
This segment can be made from an elastic metal, but it can also be constructed from a malleable material such as aluminum or annealed brass, which allows it to be easily deformed to bring it to the correct shape.
In fig. 2, there is shown a ring having a substantially elliptical section. We could also adopt a semi-elliptical section, such as that visible in fig. 3 or a circular section as shown in fig. 4.
The elastic ring can be made, for example, from a strip of unvulcanized rubber which is applied in a mold, the interior cavity of which has the desired circumference for the ring. The segment 2 is placed in the protruding part of the outline and the two longitudinal edges of the rubber band are brought together so as to form a tubular ring. The vulcanization is then carried out and the ring is ready for use.
A variant consists in using a mold the cavity of which has an exactly circular contour, the segment then having the shape of an arc of the same radius. The longitudinal edges having been brought together after positioning the segment, and the assembly having been subjected to vulcanization, the metal segment is given the desired shape by deforming it either by hand or by means of a press. appropriate.
The clamping ring can also be obtained by starting from a vulcanized rubber tube. A length of this tube is cut equal to that of the contour of the ring to be obtained and the two ends of this tube are threaded on the two branches of the segment, so that they apply against each other. at the top of the segment. The joint is subjected to vulcanization, which welds the two ends of the tube together.
The device which is the subject of the invention is capable of multiple applications. It can in particular be used in medical and orthopedic practice to exert a tightening on a limb, while under-milking under pressure a part of the tight section of this limb, for example an artery, a vein, a varicose vein, a wound, a ca nal, etc.
In particular, the device according to the invention can be placed around and at the base of the penis in order to exert elastic pressure on the periphery of this organ while at the same time clearing the urethral canal. Such a device can thus be used to promote erection and consequently fertilization.
Likewise, the device according to the invention can be used as a garter to maintain a stocking or a knee-high without compressing the saphenous veins, thus preventing the formation or aggravation of vagaries.
Whatever the intended application, if the segment is made of malleable material, the opening angle of this segment can easily be modified to obtain the appropriate clearance or to vary the tightening exerted by the flexible part of the ring. .
By way of example, there is shown in FIG: 5 a wrist band executed in accordance with the present invention.
This device comprises a hollow rubber ring 4 which is placed around the wrist and having a projecting part 5 inside which is housed a relatively rigid V-shaped segment. This protruding part has the effect of clearing the artery which is thus protected against any tightening.
It is understood that the invention is not limited to the embodiments shown, which have been given only by way of example and that it is possible "to make modifications of detail without departing from the scope. framework of the invention, in particular, the inner segment providing the desired clearance could have any angular or rounded section.
