Process for the production of an azo carbon. It has been found that azo dyes with very good fastness properties are obtained if diazotized bases with pyrazolones of the following constitution are used
EMI0001.0008
in which R and R1 are aryl radicals, at least one of which should contain one or more water-soluble groups, for example sulfonic acid or carboxyl groups,
clutch.
The new dyes dye wool from an acid bath in yellow to red shades with very good fastness properties. In particular, the dyes are distinguished from the analogous pyrazolone azo dyes, which are substituted in the 3-position of the pyrazolone nucleus by a methyl, carboxylic acid or carboxylic acid ester group, by an improved wash and boil fastness.
If one uses those dye components which have chromable groups, for example a hydroxyl, carboxyl or arylsulfamino group in the o-position to the diazo group of the base used, or the grouping of a group in o-position to a hydroxyl group Contain carboxyl or arylsulfamino groups <B> ETC, </B>,
This leads to wool dyes which, after treatment with chromium-releasing agents, are characterized by fastness properties that even surpass those of the non-chromed dyes.
The present patent relates to a process for the production of an azo dye, which consists in that diazotized sulfanilic acid with 1- (2'-chloro-4'-sulfophenyl) -3- (4 "-carboxyphenyl) -5-pyrazo - lon couples.
<I> Example: </I> <B> 17.3 </B> parts by weight of sulfanilic acid are mixed with 300 parts by weight of water and 25 parts by weight of hydrochloric acid of 20 B6 and with 6.9 parts by weight of sodium nitrite as a .2N solution at 12 to 15 diazotized. The diazo solution is left at <B> 10 '</B> in a soda-alkaline solution of 40 parts by weight of 1- (5'), '- chloro-4'-sulfophenyl) .3- (4 "-carboxy-phenyl) -5-pyrazolone enter.
The dye, salted out with common salt, is filtered off and dried.
It is a yellow powder that dyes wool from an acid bath in red-embroidered yellow shades with good fastness properties.
