Dans ce dessin, 1 et 2 représentent res pectivement deux conducteurs de distribu tion sur lesquels on superpose, par tout pro cédé connu, un courant de fréquence audible ou musicale, au moyen d'un générateur 3 branché sur ce réseau par l'intermédiaire d'un condensateur 4; 5 est un enroulement qui, avec le condensateur 6 est accordé sur la fré quence du courant engendré par le généra teur 3; l'enroulement 5 est monté sur le cir cuit magnétique 7, de préférence polarisé et excite une lame vibrante 8 également accor dée sur la fréquence du courant superposé;
9 est un organe de liaison, formé par un cli quet, entre la lame vibrante et une roue à rochet 10; mais on peut employer d'autres moyens connus (marteau ou levier intermé diaire) pour transformer les vibrations de cette lame en un mouvement de rotation; la roue à rochet 10, entraînée par le cliquet 9 dans le sens de la flèche 12 sous l'influence de la vibration de la lame 8 est elle-même solidaire du planétaire 11 d'un différentiel;
Par ailleurs, le train d'engre nages 14-15 attaque un arbre 32 sur lequel est montée une came 33; cette came 33 porte un doigt 34 dont la course est limitée par deux butées fixes 35 et 36; . un levier 37, mobile autour d'un axe 38, porté directe ment-par cette came 33, est au moyen d'un ressort 39, appuyé sur un doigt 40 porté par cette même came33, le levier 37 est réalisé de façon à pouvoir soulever le levier 29 quand l'arbre 32 tourne dans le sens de la flèche 41 et, au contraire, à échapper, par conséquent, à ne pas soulever le levier 29, quand l'arbre 32 tourne en sens inverse; l'ar bre 32 porte une deuxième came 42;
Au dessin, l'appareil est représenté en position d'arrêt, le contact 68 étant fermé. Le fonctionnement de l'appareil .décrit est alors le suivant: Le générateur 3 est connecté à la ligne 1-2 sur laquelle on superpose un courant de fréquence déterminée pendant un temps t,-, le circuit électrique 5-6 accordé sur cette fréquence est traversé par ce courant et ex cite la lame 8 qui entre en résonance, comme connu; les roues 10 et 11 sont entraînées dans le sens de la flèche 12 ansi que l'axe du satellite 13, car le planétaire 16 reste fixe, le moteur 18 n'étant pas alimenté; l'ar bre 32 est alors entraîné dans le sens de la flèche 41;
A ce moment, l'arbre 32 est bloqué et, par conséquent, il en est de même de l'ar bre du satellite 13; ce dernier, tournant sur son axe, entraîne alors le planétaire 16 en sens inverse du planétaire moteur 11, le @cli- quet 71 permettant au planétaire 16 de tour ner dans ce sens, bien que le moteur 18 soit arrêté; la came 42 est entraînée en même temps que la came 33 et, dans sa rotation, elle fait tourner le levier 43 autour de son axe 44, par l'intermédiaire du doigt 45; le doigt 46, porté par le levier 43 soulève alors la pièce 47, ce qui a pour effet der fermer les contacts 49 et 53 et de venir faire ap puyer le bec 50 sur la périphérie de la came 59;
les manoeuvres de débrayage des pignons 24 et 25, d'une part, et de fermeture des con tacts 49 et 58, d'autre part, peuvent être effectuées simultanément ou dans un ordre quelconque; une fois qu'elles ont été effec tuées, le moteur 18 mis sous tension par la fermeture des contacts 49 et 53 a pour effet d'entraîner, d'une part, avec le ralentisse ment voulu l'arbre 54 revenu;
au début de la manoeuvre, à sa position de départ et, d'autre part, par l'intermédiaire du cliquet 71., le planétaire 16 à une vitesse déterminée de telle sorte que, pendant toute la durée de l'émission de courant sur la ligne 1-2, le planétaire 11 tourne toujours plus vite que le planétaire 16; il en résulte que l'axe du sa tellite 13 reste fixe; quand l'émission :cesse au bout :d'un temps t, le planétaire 11 s'arrête et l'arbre 32 se trouve alors entraîné par l'in- termédiaire du planétaire 16 en sens inverse de la flèche 41;
la came 33 revient alors en arrière, mais le levier 37 ne soulève pas le levier 29 et, par conséquent, les pignons 24 et 25 restent en prise. D'autre part, la came 42 revient -en arrière, mais les contazts 49 et 53 restent fermés puisque le bec 50 du le vier 47 appuie sur la périphérie de la -came 59; au moment où le doigt 34 vient appuyer sur la butée 35, l'arbre 32 s'arrête et le plané taire 11 est alors entraîné dans le sens de la flèche 12, par l'intermédiaire du satellite 13 qui tourne alors sur son arbre immobilisé;
Si, au lieu de superposer un courant sur la ligne 1-2 pendant un temps t,, on avait superposé ce même -courant pendant un temps t, supérieur à. T,, il est facile de voir que le bec 50 ne serait pas tombé dans l'encoche 60 puisque, au moment de cette coïncidence, le doigt 34 aurait encore été appuyé sur la bu tée 36 par suite du mouvement -du planétaire 11 et que la pièce 47 aurait-encore été soule vée à -ce moment par le levier 43;
Relay device intended for. be controlled by means of high frequency or musical current superimposed on a distribution network. We know how to control, by means of superimposed currents of musical frequencies, resonance relays, electric or mechanical, combined or not, to obtain at will such maneuver as one wishes. The selection between the different maneuvers can be obtained either by assigning a particular frequency or a special modulation to each maneuver, or by adopting a particular duration of the signal emitted for each maneuver.
The apparatus which is the subject of the invention belongs to the latter category, in the sense that its purpose is to perform each of the maneuvers for which it is intended, depending on the duration during which it is supplied; so that it presents, moreover, a great selectivity, on the one hand, one can use a vibrating member, tuning fork or vibrating blade, polarized, tuned to the frequency of the current which supplies the relay and, on the other hand , the electrical circuit for excitation of this vibrating member can be tuned to this same frequency, so that the device has a double tuning.
The work required of the vibrating member is not used to perform the maneuvers planned for the device, but only to usefully start a servo motor, consisting, for example, of a small electric induction motor, at a fairly constant speed, which has the effect of carrying out the maneuvers.
In addition, the device always returns to a determined starting point before performing any maneuver; this results in a significant advantage in the case where the apparatus is used as a current receiver superimposed on the distribution networks; in fact, if the current emission does not reach an appliance, as a result, in particular, of a momentary accident which has occurred on a transmission line, it is ensured that the first following emission which will reach this appliance will put it in position of correct maneuver, corresponding to this particular duration of mission.
The following description will give a good understanding of the apparatus forming the subject of the invention, the appended schematic drawing of which gives, by way of example, an advantageous embodiment.
In this drawing, 1 and 2 respectively represent two distribution conductors on which is superimposed, by any known process, a current of audible or musical frequency, by means of a generator 3 connected to this network by means of 'a capacitor 4; 5 is a winding which, together with the capacitor 6 is tuned to the frequency of the current generated by the generator 3; the winding 5 is mounted on the magnetic cir cuit 7, preferably polarized and excites a vibrating blade 8 also tuned to the frequency of the superimposed current;
9 is a connecting member, formed by a pawl, between the vibrating blade and a ratchet wheel 10; but one can use other known means (hammer or intermediate lever) to transform the vibrations of this blade into a rotational movement; the ratchet wheel 10, driven by the pawl 9 in the direction of arrow 12 under the influence of the vibration of the blade 8 is itself integral with the sun gear 11 of a differential;
the satellite 13 of this differential is, by intermedi.d'un appropriate demulti-folding gear train 14, 15, integral with cams, the role of which will be defined below; the second sun gear 16 of this differential can rotate in the direction of arrow 17 when it is driven by a motor 18, by means of a suitable reduction gear train 19-20. and a pawl 71.
The motor 18 is a small electric motor at a substantially constant speed and independent of the supply voltage of its load and, possibly, of the network frequency. In addition, it is, by means of a suitable train of demultiplier gears 21-22, integral with a shaft 23 which carries, at one of its ends, a pinion 24 capable of being engaged. or out of engagement with a toothed wheel 25.
Under the effect of a lever 28 which carries one of the ends 27 of the shaft 23, this shaft can pivot slightly around its end 26, without however the wheels 21 and 22 ceasing to be engaged; the lever 28 is integral with another lever 29, via a movable axis 30 and the assembly 28-29 can pivot about the fixed axis 31; in the position shown in the drawing, the pinion 24 is supported on the pinion 25 by the effect of gravity, the latter could be replaced by the action of a spring.
Furthermore, the gear train 14-15 attacks a shaft 32 on which a cam 33 is mounted; this cam 33 carries a finger 34 whose stroke is limited by two fixed stops 35 and 36; . a lever 37, movable around an axis 38, carried directly by this cam 33, is by means of a spring 39, supported on a finger 40 carried by this same cam 33, the lever 37 is made so as to be able to lift the lever 29 when the shaft 32 turns in the direction of the arrow 41 and, on the contrary, to escape, therefore, not to lift the lever 29, when the shaft 32 turns reverse; arb 32 carries a second cam 42;
a lever 43 movable around a fixed axis 44 supported on the cam 42 by means of a finger 45 and carries, at its other end, an insulated finger 46; an elastic part 47, fixed at a point 48, carries a contact 49 and, near its free end, a spout 50.
This part 47 presses on the finger 46 so as to make the finger 45 bear on the cam 42); a second elastic part 51, fixed at 52, carries at its free end a contact 53 fixed opposite the contact 49; the toothed wheel 25 is mounted on a shaft 54, movable in the direction of arrow 55, when it is driven by the motor 18 and movable, on the contrary, in the direction of arrow 56, under the effect of a spring 57, the two ends of which are respectively fixed to this shaft, and at a fixed point 58; movement of the shaft 54 in the direction of arrow 56 is possible only when the pinions 24-25 are not engaged.
59 is a cam fixed on the shaft 54 and which carries a certain number of notches such as 60, 61, 62; when the beak of the lever 47 falls into one of these notches, the electrical circuit established by the contacts 49 and 53 is open; on the contrary, when the beak 50. lifted by the finger 46, bears on the periphery of the cam 59, the circuit established by the contacts 49 and 53 is closed; in the first case, the motor 18 is disconnected; in the second case, it is, on the contrary, energized.
63 is a movable stop fixed on the shaft 54 and 64 is a fixed stop against which the finger 63 comes to rest under the effect of the spring 5 7 when the wheel 25 is no longer in engagement with the pinion 24; 68, 69, 70 are respectively three cams fixed on the shaft 54 and which respectively control the contacts 65, 66, 67; these cams are adjusted so that the contact 65 is closed when the spout 50 is in the notch 60 and open when the spout 50 is -in one: of the notches 61 and 62; the cam 69 is adjusted so that the contact 66 is closed when the spout 50 is in the notch 61 and open when the spout 50 is in one of the notches 60 or 62; the cam 70 is adjusted such that the contact 67 is closed when the spout 50 is in the notch 62 and open when the spout 50 is in one of the notches 60 or 62.
In the drawing, the device is shown in the off position, the contact 68 being closed. The operation of the device described is then as follows: The generator 3 is connected to line 1-2 on which a current of a determined frequency is superimposed for a time t, -, the electric circuit 5-6 tuned to this frequency is crossed by this current and ex cites the blade 8 which resonates, as known; the wheels 10 and 11 are driven in the direction of arrow 12 ansi that the axis of the satellite 13, because the sun gear 16 remains fixed, the motor 18 not being powered; shaft 32 is then driven in the direction of arrow 41;
the lever 37, carried by the cam 33. lifts the lever 29 and, therefore, the pinion 24 is disengaged from the pinion 25 for a sufficiently long time for the shaft 54., under the effect of the spring 57, is driven in the direction of arrow 56 until the moment when the finger 63 comes to rest against the fixed stop 64; the cam 33 continues to turn. until the finger 34 comes to press on the stop 36. In this last position, the lever 37 has escaped under the lever 29 and the pinions 24 and 25 are again engaged.
At this moment, the shaft 32 is blocked and, consequently, it is the same for the shaft of the satellite 13; the latter, rotating on its axis, then drives the sun gear 16 in the opposite direction to the motor sun gear 11, the pawl 71 allowing the sun gear 16 to turn in this direction, although the motor 18 is stopped; the cam 42 is driven at the same time as the cam 33 and, in its rotation, it causes the lever 43 to turn around its axis 44, by means of the finger 45; the finger 46, carried by the lever 43 then lifts the part 47, which has the effect of closing the contacts 49 and 53 and of pushing the spout 50 on the periphery of the cam 59;
the operations for disengaging the pinions 24 and 25, on the one hand, and for closing the contacts 49 and 58, on the other hand, can be carried out simultaneously or in any order; once they have been carried out, the motor 18 energized by the closing of the contacts 49 and 53 has the effect of driving, on the one hand, with the desired slowing down the shaft 54 returned;
at the start of the maneuver, in its starting position and, on the other hand, via the pawl 71., the sun gear 16 at a determined speed so that, throughout the duration of the current emission on line 1-2, sun gear 11 always rotates faster than sun gear 16; it follows that the axis of its satellite 13 remains fixed; when the emission: ceases at the end of: a time t, the sun gear 11 stops and the shaft 32 is then driven by means of the sun gear 16 in the opposite direction of arrow 41;
the cam 33 then returns back, but the lever 37 does not lift the lever 29 and therefore the pinions 24 and 25 remain in engagement. On the other hand, the cam 42 returns -back, but the contazts 49 and 53 remain closed since the spout 50 of the lever 47 presses on the periphery of the -came 59; when the finger 34 comes to press on the stop 35, the shaft 32 stops and the planetary 11 is then driven in the direction of the arrow 12, via the satellite 13 which then rotates on its immobilized shaft ;
the control system operated by the vibrating blade 8 then returned to its initial position; the motor 18 continues to rotate by dragging the shaft 54 until the moment when the nozzle 50 falls into the notch 60; : at this moment, contacts 49 and 53 open and motor 18 stops; in this position, the contact 65. is closed, while the contacts 66-67 are or green.
The operation which has just been described lets suppose, which is the case, that the time T, which the shaft 54 takes to turn from its starting position (finger 63 on stopper freezes 64) until the moment when the nozzle 50 falls into the notch 60 is sufficient so that, on the one hand, the emission of the superimposed current is terminated and, on the other hand, the motor 18 has had time to return to its position - from, starting (finger 34 on stop 35) shaft 32.
This time T ,. will obviously be longer than the duration t, of the emission, so as to give the operation of the device complete safety, in particular given that the speed of the sun gear 11 can vary within relatively large limits -and that, on the other hand, the speed of the motor 18 can also vary within certain limits:
If, instead of superimposing a current on line 1-2 for a time t ,, we had superimposed this same current for a time t, greater than. T ,, it is easy to see that the nozzle 50 would not have fallen into the notch 60 since, at the time of this coincidence, the finger 34 would still have been pressed on the stop 36 as a result of the movement of the planetary 11 and that the part 47 would still have been lifted at this time by the lever 43;
by interrupting the emission when the spout 50 is between the notches 60 and 61, it is then understood, and following the same operation as that previously described, that the shaft 54 stops after a time T, when the cradle, 50 falls into the notch 61. At this time, the contact 66 is closed, while the contacts 65 and 67 are open.
Finally, by superimposing a current on the conductors 1, 2 for a period t3 greater than T ,, it is understood that, in the same way, the contact 67 can be closed, the contacts 65 and 66 being open.
The apparatus shown has been described in the case where it is used to close contacts; it should be noted that this number of contacts can be any and depends only on the number of notches carried by the cam 59.
It should also be noted that the profile of the cams 68, 69, 70 may be arbitrary and therefore may or may not result in simultaneous closings or openings of the circuit.
Finally, with the apparatus described, it is possible to carry out direct mechanical commands and in particular: clutching and disengaging the minutes in the change-tariff counters.
The main advantages of this apparatus reside in its great sensitivity and great selectivity, both obtained by the fact of -double tuning; as a result, its application in remote control installations by means of currents superimposed on the distribution networks is very interesting since it allows, on the one hand, to reduce the voltage. of the perposed current. and, on the other hand, to superimpose, in a determined range of frequencies,
a relatively greater number of currents at different frequencies than could be the case with other systems and which, all other things being equal, it puts with greater certainty, this device shielded from any disturbing currents harmonics or others.
Without departing from the scope of the invention, it is of course possible to use any positive devices to effect either the momentary disengagement between the booster and the camshaft of use, or the closing and the opening of the contact which puts the current on the circuit of the servomotor used.
