Dichtungseinrichtung.
Sealing device. The well-known stuffing box seals for piston rods, shafts or valve spindles have the disadvantage that they often leak in operation, even with proper maintenance. Losses of the gaseous or liquid bodies to be shut off are unavoidable. The stuffing box cannot be repackaged during operation, especially at higher pressures, or only imperfectly, which leads to significant losses, mainly in continuous operation.
The sealing device of the present invention enables repackaging during operation in that a stuffing box of a known construction, for example, is seen in series with another stuffing box or with a labyrinth or other seal. In the company, losses are either avoided entirely or at least reduced to a minimum.
In the drawing, for example, two types of embodiment of this Dichtungseinrich device are shown. To. the Figure 1 is a housing in which any gaseous or liq siger body is under pressure. The gaseous or liquid body escaping between the housing and the piston rod, shaft or valve spindle is prevented from flowing out into space i by a packing c of any kind.
The packing material c can be pressed together through the threaded ring d and against the housing a and the spindle b . e is the packing material of the upper stuffing box. The packing material e is pressed together by the screws f and the stuffing box flange g and against the spindle b and the stuffing box housing h. In operation, a Druckaus will occur between the space i and that of the housing a.
Due to the height of the pressure in space i, it is impossible for the substance to flow out of the housing a.
A pressure drop in room i can only occur if the liquid or gaseous body can flow out to the atmosphere, through leaky packing in the upper stuffing box. Since this packing can be reinserted during operation, losses are prevented.
The packing of the upper stuffing box is done in such a way that the locking pin k is removed, whereby the liquid or gaseous body under pressure in space i flows out through the channel opening l into the open.
The pressure in the room i drops to atmospheric pressure. The upper stuffing box is therefore no longer under pressure. By loosening the screws f and pulling out the gland flanges g, the defective packing can be removed and replaced with a new packing. This is again pressed together by the gland flange g by means of the screws f and the locking pin k is inserted.
In Fig. 2, a is the housing, b the spindle, c the packing, into the stuffing box flanges of the stuffing box, through which the packing c together with the screws n is pressed. In the bore of the housing grooves o a known labyrinth seal are screwed.
A loss due to leakage of the stuffing box seal will not occur even in long uninterrupted operation.
During operation, a new seal can be inserted into the stuffing box, in that the gaseous or liquid body flows out through the channel 1 by opening the locking pin k, thereby relieving the pressure on the stuffing box. By pulling out the gland flanges in , the defective packing c can be taken out and fitted with a new packing. By pushing in the stuffing box flange 7n, the packing is compressed by means of the screws n.
The locking pin 1c is inserted and the room is blocked from the outside.
