Die so erhaltenen Farbstoffe zeichnen sich durch eine besonders für Druckfarbstoffe erwünschte vorzügliche Löslichkeit, durch Klarheit des Farbtones und durch gute Echt heitseigenschaften aus.
Gegenstand des vorliegenden Patentes ist ein Verfahren zur Herstellung eines neuen Farbstoffes der Gallocyaninreihe durch Kon- densation von Gallussäure mit Nitroso-o- tolyltaurin.
<I>Beispiel:</I> 17 Gewichtsteile Gallussäure werden in 344 Gewichtsteilen Methanol heiss' gelöst, und zu der Lösung werden 37 Gewichtsteile Ni- troso-o-tolyltaurin in dem Masse gegeben, wie .die Gelbfärbung verschwindet. Der Farbstoff der Formel:

fällt aus. Durch Filtration wird er isoliert und kann in üblicher Weise in das Natrium- oder Ammoniumsalz übergeführt werden, in welcher Form er vorzüglich löslich ist.
Er gibt auf Baumwolle mittelst Chrombeize ge druckt klare, sehr gleichmässige, blauviolette Töne von guter Licht-, Chlor- und Seifen echtheit.
