Method and device for removing dust from items of clothing. The invention relates to a drive and a device for removing dust from clothes. The method according to the invention consists in that the item of clothing is placed on a cleaning plate, exposed to a stream of compressed air from the contact side and, at the same time, loosened from the other side.
So far, the procedure has always been to send the flow of exertion through the garment as a suction flow. If there is a base with perforations underneath, the item of clothing is pressed firmly against it, with the result that between the perforations of the base, sections arise within the item of clothing through which air cannot pass at all. Therefore, at best, only a dust removal could be noticed at the points of the garment that are located directly above the perforations of the cleaning plate.
A disadvantage of these known methods is the fact that the surface of the garments is still being brushed on the side where the suction air flow exits the garment. This only presses the garment even more onto the plate and narrows the passageways for the air flow.
In the method according to the invention, on the other hand, the item of clothing is placed on a cleaning plate and a compressed air flow is set from the support side. As a result, the item of clothing is pressed slightly from the cleaning plate, so that the entire surface of the item of clothing is hit by the flow of compressed air. As a result, the item of clothing is traversed everywhere by the compressed or cleaning air. From the other side, the item of clothing is loosened up, for example brushed, so that the compressed air flow actually carries along the dust particles contained in the item of clothing and removes them from the item of clothing.
Tests have shown that - that a high cleaning effect will be maintained that could not be achieved with the known methods.
The device according to the invention for carrying out the method has a frame equipped with a perforated plate which has a connection for compressed air.
Several embodiments of the device for performing the method according to the invention are shown in the accompanying drawings. They show: FIG. 1 schematically a first dust removal device, FIG. 2 a side view of a modified dust removal device, FIG. 3 a rear view of the dust removal device according to FIG. 2,
FIG. 4 shows a simplified dedusting device with a connection option for existing vacuum cleaners; FIG. 5 shows the dedusting device according to FIG. 4 in a rear view; Fig. 6 and 7 show a further imple mentation in side view and front view with the table top folded up; 8 and 9 show a hanger pad in longitudinal section and in plan.
In Fig.1 a ver provided with perforations hollow cleaning plate 1 is per se be known design, which is arranged on feet 2 to, shown. A tube ä is combined with the cleaning plate, through which compressed air is sent in the direction of the arrow. The compressed air is evenly distributed within the closed Ge housing under the support surface of the cleaning plate 1 and passes through the perforations 4 of the cleaning plate upwards.
The item of clothing 5, which is placed on the cleaning plate, comes under the influence of the compressed air jets and is slightly lifted off the cleaning plate 1, so that the compressed air exiting the perforations 4 reaches all points on the surface of the item of clothing 5. As a result, compressed air also penetrates every point of the garment. The brush 6, which moves back and forth, ensures that the structure of the item of clothing is loosened and that the compressed air actually entrains all dust particles that are in the item of clothing to the outside.
According to FIGS. 2 and 3, the perforated hollow cleaning plate 8 is detachably attached to the floor frame 9 in any suitable manner. The foot part 10 of the floor frame is made long enough to give the machine the necessary stability. Two rollers 11 on the base are provided to facilitate transport. At the upper end of the frame there is a motor 12 which is combined with a fan 14 of conventional design, which is housed in the frame. At 13 a dust collector or dust bag is indicated, which can be designed in a similar way to known vacuum cleaners.
The pressure side of the fan 14 is connected to the hollow cleaning plate 8 by a pipe bend 15. The suction side 16 stands through a flexible pipe 17 with a brush 1,8. in context. The dedusting process takes place in such a way that the item of clothing is placed on the cleaning plate 8. The compressed air passes through the cleaning plate from bottom to top and penetrates the garment. During this process, the item of clothing is loosened by means of the brush 18.
The amounts of dust driven out by the compressed air are passed through the pipe 17 into the dust bag.
Two fans can also be seen, one of which always supplies fresh compressed air and the other removes the dust-enriched air.
The embodiment according to Fig. 2 and ss can be modified in such a way that the frame is shortened so that it can serve as a table frame. In this case, the foot part 20 is detachable, as is the cleaning plate 8, so that the remaining part of the frame can be used as a vacuum cleaner, of course after the elbow 15 has been removed. A clamping device 21 is used to clamp the base 20 to any work table.
4 and 5, a simpler dust removal machine is shown. 24 is the cleaning plate, 25 the table frame, 26 the base of the frame. The cleaning plate and also the foot can in turn be designed to be removable. The cleaning plate 24 has a connection for compressed air at 27; this can be generated, for example, by a vacuum cleaner of commercially available design. The device is most advantageously clamped firmly on a table by means of clamping device 2.8.
The embodiment according to FIGS. 6 and 7 has a table 30 of rectangular, elongated shape which is equipped with a table top 31 which can be folded up. On the underside of the table top 31 there is a fan or blower 32 with the pressure side 33 and the suction air side 34. The blower 33 is connected to two connection lines 36 and 37 via a slide device 35. The connection line 36 leads to a section or component 38 of the table top 30, which is clearly delimited in FIG. 6 and which is used for treating men's legwear and the like.
It can be seen in FIG. 7 that, in accordance with the delimitation indicated in FIG. 6, a wall 40 extends parallel to the lower surface of the table top 31, so that a cavity results under the support surface for the trousers etc. The connection line 37 extends to an opening 39 inside the table, and this opening serves as a connection for ironing devices of known design connected to the dust removal device, one of which, for example, an ironing pad 57, is shown in FIGS. 8 and 9 .
The slide 35 is equipped with three connecting channels 41, 42 and 43, so that depending on the setting of the slide, as will be discussed further below, different connection paths between the fan 32 and the connection lines result. The slide 35 is under the influence of an articulated lever system 44 which 'runs into a handle 45. It can be seen without further ado that the slide 35 can be set differently by adjusting the handle 45.
As indicated by dashed lines in FIG. 7, a perforated hollow container 46 can be connected to the connecting line 36, the base area of this container roughly corresponding to the area intended for receiving legwear. The table frame carries a dust collector 47 which, on the one hand, can be connected to the blower via a flexible line 48 and, on the other hand, leads to a cleaning brush 51 via a flexible line 50. The flexible line 48 terminates in a mouthpiece 52, which can be brought into connection with a suction nozzle 53 of the blower 32.
The suction connection 53 has a cover which is suspended from an upper pivot point 55.
If a piece of clothing or the like is to be dedusted, you can, for example, use the already air-permeable, be limited surface 3.8 of the table by adjusting the slide so that the channel 41 is a connection between the connection line 36 and the pressure side 33 of the fan manufactures. The compressed air then penetrates the item of clothing placed on the surface 318 from below, and at the same time the item of clothing is loosened by a brush or the like, so that the air takes away the dust located in the item of clothing.
The dedusting effect is even more favorable if, as indicated in FIG. 7, the perforated container 46 is brought into connection with the connection line 36. Then the compressed air passes unhindered through the holes in the container 46 and into the garment, with the result that the amounts of dust are driven out of the garment.
If the dust is not to be whirled up in the air, but to be collected immediately, it is only necessary to treat the item of clothing with the loosening brush 51 after the connection line 48 has been connected to the suction nozzle 53 of the fan with the aid of the mouthpiece 52 is. The bracket pad shown in FIGS. 8 and 9 can be connected to the connector 39.
If you want to remove dust from clothing on this ironing pad, the slide is set as illustrated in FIG. The compressed air then enters the connection line 37 from the fan 32 via the channel 42 and in this way reaches the ironing pad. and to the garment. At the same time, the cleaning and loosening brush 51 is used. The dust is collected in the collector 47. The table top is naturally only folded up if any adjustment has to be made with regard to the fan, etc.
The table 30 can now also be used for ironing.
For example, if you want to iron a man's leg on section 3.8 of the table top, then you set the slide 35 so that the channel 42 of the slide connects between the connecting line 36 and the suction side 34 of the fan 32 . manufactures. The fan then sucks the moisture that develops when ironing the trousers via the connection line 36, the channel 42 and the suction side 34 of the fan 32.
If a component of the garment is to be ironed with the aid of the ironing cushion given again in FIGS. 8 and 9, this ironing device is respectively inserted into the 'opening 39 of the table 30. its plate 31 is set, and the slide is adjusted so that the channel 43 establishes a connection between the connection line 37 and the suction side 34 of the fan. The moisture generated during ironing is then sucked off through the connection line 37 via the channel 43 to the suction side 34 of the fan.
So that the suction air can reach the item of clothing to be ironed, the ironing device is equipped with a cavity 518 and is covered by a perforated metal plate 59 at the top. Over this metal plate is a layer 60 made of cork, tow or the like, over which a conventional fabric cover 61 is placed. The ironing device can also have a different shape, for example as a sleeve ironing board, lapel pad and the like.
Not only two connection lines but more than two can be provided, for example in the event that even more ironing devices are to be attached to the dust removal device. The individual connection lines cannot be operated one after the other, but all or some of them simultaneously. All that is required is a slightly modified version of the slide. It is also conceivable to provide a special fan for each connection line or connection point.
This will prove to be particularly useful if the dust collector is used as an ironing table in larger tailor shops, clothing stores and the like.
