Vacuum cleaner mouthpiece. The subject of the invention is a new suction mouthpiece for vacuum cleaners, which, in addition to the suction effect, has an additional knocking effect on the object to be cleaned, for example a carpet. The subject matter of the invention relates to such mouthpieces in which at least one body (resilient tongue or the like) is caused to vibrate by the suction air flow, and is characterized in that the vibrations are transmitted through the air to an oscillating knocking device arranged on the suction mouthpiece.
The Klopfvor direction is expediently resiliently mounted in the mouthpiece by means of a membrane connected to the mouthpiece body, for example made of rubber or metal.
Three exemplary embodiments of the invention are shown in the drawing. 1 shows a top view of a suction mouthpiece, the cover of which has been partially removed; FIGS. 2, 3 and 4 show sections along lines II-II, III-III and FIG. IV-IV of Fig. 1, Fig. 5 is a side view of the upper mouth piece part,
F'ig. 6 and 7 cross sections through two further embodiments of the subject invention.
The mouth pieces shown in the drawing consist of a cover 10 and a frame-like lower part 11 articulated to it at 12, which kidney 12 can be pivoted after Ent removal of the screws 13 to the hinge. In the interior of the mouthpiece 11 a knocking device is provided which consists of a rod-shaped body 14 made of metal, which is resiliently connected to the lower part 11.
For this purpose, a membrane 15 made of rubber or the like surrounds the knocking body and is part 11 with it and the mouthpiece by means of flanges 16 and screws 17 attached. The membrane 15, which also seals the knocking body 14 against the mouthpiece part 11, is provided with thickened Rän countries that are encompassed by the correspondingly bent flange cabinets. In addition, the hammer body is connected to the mouthpiece part 11 by means of two springs 24 at its ends.
The knocking body 14 has a longitudinal slot 18 for the passage of air, and the side of the knocking body facing the object to be cleaned is provided with an edge surrounding the passage opening on all sides. The lower flat edge of this edge ends when the vacuum cleaner is not working, a little above the lower edge of the mouthpiece.
On the top of the mouthpiece a hood 20 is provided, and in front of its opening an elastic tongue 19 serving as a vibrating organ is arranged, which is held firmly by means of screws 21 on the mouthpiece. On the hood 20, a pipe connector 22 for the suction pipe (hose) is mounted rotatably, which is attached to the sides of the hood by means of flanges 13 (FIG. 5).
The device is made so that when lifting the mouthpiece it is rotated down around the pipe socket 22, where through the passage opening between, the mouthpiece and the pipe socket, ah is automatically throttled so that the knocking effect decreases or. stops completely.
The lower edge of the mouthpiece is, as can be seen from FIGS. 2 and 4, corrugated in such a way that the inside of the mouthpiece is more corrugated than the outside, so that the outer edge of the mouthpiece is flat or at least almost flat.
The mouthpiece operates in the following manner. Assume that the mouthpiece is connected to a vacuum cleaner that is being put into operation. The tongue 19 is caused to vibrate by the suction effect of the vacuum cleaner, whereby it is bent slightly into the hood 20 and assumes the positions indicated by dash-dotted lines. The vibrations of the tongue are communicated to the air flow, which in turn acts on the large surface of the knocking device and thus sets it in a vibratory motion. The knocking body 1,4 it keeps an upward and downward movement through which the object to be cleaned, for example a carpet, is thoroughly knocked.
The dust particles, threads, etc. loosened and whirled up by the knocking effect are guided with the suction air through the opening 18 in the knocking body 14 to the dust bag. The intermittent flow of the suction air caused by the vibrations of the tongue 19 be a shaking of the object to be cleaned, which the cleaning effect still he increases.
The embodiment according to FIG. 6 differs mainly from the one described above only in that the air to induce the vibrational movement of the elastic tongue 19 is introduced directly into the mouthpiece through a number of openings 25 of the cover 10. The mouthpiece is provided with a recess 26 so that the tongue 19 can carry out its oscillations without hindrance. When the mouthpiece is in operation, air flows partly through the openings 25 and partly from the underside of the mouthpiece through the opening 18 of the hammer body 14 into the interior of the mouthpiece.
The vibrations of the tongue 19 are transmitted to the knocking device 14 by the suction air. This device makes the vibrating element 19 largely independent of the nature of the carpet in that a sufficiently strong air flow takes place through the openings 25 to actuate the tongue 19, even if the carpet should be so tight that only one relatively small amount of air is sucked through it.
In the embodiment according to FIG. 7, oscillating elements 19 are also provided, which are caused to oscillate by means of air introduced through openings 25 into the wall of the mouthpiece. However, the tongues are provided in front of the knocking device, which means that the air to operate the tongues is also used for cleaning. The free ends of the tongues are directed downwards, so that the air passing through the openings 25 is sent directly downwards and is used to loosen and swirl the dust.
As can be seen from the drawing, in addition to the tongues 19, a tongue 27 is arranged in the path of the suction air flowing in the mouthpiece, for the purpose of setting the tongues 19 in motion, which is particularly advantageous if the carpet to be cleaned should consist of very loose fabric.
