Automatic coupling for trailer vehicles. The usual automatic couplings in trailer vehicles are based on the application of a coupling pin which is vertically movable in the coupling housing of the towing vehicle and which engages in a horizontally presented pull ring of the trailer vehicle, as shown in FIG. 1 of the drawing.
This type of coupling makes it necessary, with regard to the ease of coupling and the unevenness of the roadway, that between the elements to be coupled, that is, between the elements. Between the coupling housing <1 and the pull ring B on the one hand and between the coupling bolt C and the pull ring B on the other hand, there is a considerable amount of play in the clutch housing. A moves up and down or back and forth, with which rapid wear and tear of the coupling parts goes hand in hand. The game also results in unavoidable impact and shock effects in the clutch. The present invention is intended to avoid these evils.
The automatic coupling for trailer vehicles, which is their subject, is characterized by the fact that a coupling housing to be attached to the towing vehicle, which is set up to retract an upright pull ring of the trailer, is pivotable about two vertical coaxial pins and has two horizontal coupling bolts that fit into the tension ring without significant play and which tend to jump into the retracted tension ring from both sides under the action of a spring, but when the coupling is disengaged are held back by a track trap reaching between them,
until this locking latch is released when the pull ring is retracted and the released coupling bolts can then jump into the pull ring from the side.
2 to 6 of the drawing illustrate an exemplary embodiment of the subject matter of the invention; Fig. 2 and 3 are two vertical sections of the same with coupled coupling elements; Fig. 4 is a horizontal section to Fig. 2; 5 shows the coupling elements in the ready-to-be-coupled state; Fig. 6 is a horizontal section along the line VI-VI of Fig. 3 on a larger scale.
On the tie rod a a gabelförmi ger carrier b is provided with two vertical pins c, which penetrate the top and bottom of a cross-like housing d and form a vertical axis of rotation for the same. In the horizontally lying arms of the housing d, two horizontal coupling bolts g provided with slots are guided. Two angle levers h, which are mounted at h 'and are under the influence of tension springs, intervene, the horizontal arms of which lie in the range of motion of a vertically movable release bolt i that can be actuated from below, as well as in the area of horizontally displaceable mounted in the housing d Locking sleeves j, which are under the influence of pressure springs against each other.
The release pin i is guided in the lower pivot pin c and provided at the top with a cone which engages under the facing ends of the horizontal arms of the angle lever h. A hand lever k is used to operate the release pin i.
Below the upper pivot c a dome bolt locking latch m is pivotably suspended in the housing d, which hangs down between the coupling bolts g when the coupling pin g is ready for coupling, but when the upright pull ring n of the trailer is retracted through the pull ring n in the one shown in Fig. 2- Position is pivoted upwards. On the housing d, a mouth dl for the automatically zukup pelting pull ring n and the mouth d 'opposite a bearing o for a vertical coupling bolt p is seen.
By turning the housing d by 180 from the drawn position you can bring this Kuppelbol zen p in such a position that you can easily attach a horizontal pull ring, a rope, a chain, etc. to it.
The mode of operation is as follows according to FIGS. 2, 3, 4 and 6, where the towing vehicle and trailer are connected to one another and the decoupling is to be carried out, the following: The decoupling lever 1c is raised; as a result, the release bolt i with its cone first pushes the two locking sleeves j, which rest against the ends of the horizon tal arms of the angle lever h, back outwards, as a result, the angle lever h are free. These can now deflect under the influence of the release bolt i raised by lever k, with the result that the vertical arms of the lever h push the coupling bolts g outwards.
As a result, they are moved out of the pull ring n, after which this can be extended from the clutch housing d. During the extension of the ring n and the pushing apart of the two coupling bolts g by the angle lever h caused by the release bolt <I> i </I>, the locking latch na falls down between the bolts g and locks them in the disengaged position, after which the lever k released who can.
The locking latch 7n maintains its locking position despite all the vibrations to which the towing vehicle and trailer are exposed as a result of the unevenness of the roadway, because the tension spring angle lever h, the coupling bolt <I> g </I> try to push inwards so that the same clamp the locking latch m between them (Fig. 5).
If coupling is to take place, the upright pull ring n is retracted into the coupling housing d and the consequence of this is that 'the locking latch 7n on the part of the ring 7i. is lifted out between the coupling pin g.
Finally, under the influence of the tension springs waving on the angle levers, h, these snap into the opening of the pull ring n from both sides, the coupling bolts g being designed so that they fit at least approximately coherently into the opening of the pull ring n, so that there is no noticeable margin between train ring n and coupling bolt g in the coupled state of the coupling. The clutch is closed; it is locked in the final state in that the locking sleeves j grip over the wagrech th arms of the angle lever h.
The advantages of the coupling described are as follows: The rotatability of the upright. standing pull ring n on the horizontal dome bolt b and the pivotability of the coupling housing d on the vertical pin c allow a kind of universal joint movement in the coupling when maneuvering, lerunterfollowing the play between the coupling elements avoided and therefore any impact or impact who can be eliminated .
The pull ring n of the trailer car can be coupled in any position of the coupling housing d, in which this can be turned on its pin c to the sides; for example, coupling the trailer to the towing vehicle is still possible if the two vehicles together form an angle of about 90; the clutch housing d is simply rotated far enough to the side ge. This is a great advantage when maneuvering in narrow streets. The coupling device o can be used by rotating the coupling housing through <B> 180 '</B>.
