Device for thawing frozen water pipes. The invention relates to a device for thawing frozen water lines.
According to the invention, the device has a transformer, the primary winding of which is provided with different taps, which can be optionally connected by means of a plug-in contact to enable connection to networks of different voltages and whose secondary winding is divided into two halves, which can also be connected in series and in parallel by means of plug contacts.
The drawing shows an example embodiment of the device according to the invention and schematically its application when thawing a water pipe.
The transformer housing 1 (FIGS. 1-1 and 1b) provided with a support element 2 is equipped with an ammeter 3, the fuses 4 and the socket 5 </ B > for connection to a light or Equipped power network. In the side view of FIG. 1b, these fittings are not shown for the sake of clarity.
On the right-hand side, the housing shows the plug contacts 6 of the primary winding for the connection values 110, 125, 145, 220 and 250 volts voltage. <B. > 7 is the cable with the plug contact 8 for the choice of the appropriate tap. The transformer is thus switched according to FIG. 111 for connection to a 110 volt network. The plug contact pairs 9/10 and 11/12, which are connected to the connections of the secondary winding, which is divided into two halves, are arranged on the left of the housing.
The contact pair 9/10 is through the plug contact 13 of the line 14 and the contact pair 11/12 through the plug contact 15 of the line 16 bridged. The halves of the secondary winding are thus connected in parallel according to scheme 211. If the two halves are to be connected in series according to FIG. 211, the contacts 13 and 15 are turned into the dotted position, in such a way that they only outer with the two Contacts 9 and 12 are connected, while contacts 10 and 11 are bridged by the contact clip 17 .
Fig. 3 shows a water pipe 18, which is led under a street into the building 19. She was frozen. To thaw this line 18 , the secondary winding 8 of the transformer is connected on the one hand to the water pipe inside the building and on the other hand to the slide 20 outside the building. The transformer transforms the mains voltage and allows, for example, loads of up to a secondary current of 300 amps.
