Au dessin annexé -donné uniquement à titre d'exemple: La fig. 1 représente, en coupe verticale, une boîte en carton embouti -dont. le montage est effectué automatiquement par la machine objet,de l'invention; La fig. 2 est une vue schématique en élé vation, avec coupes partielles; d'une forme d'exécution de la machine objet de l'inven tion; La fig. 3 en est la vue en plan;
La fig. 4 est une coupe verticale de cette machine suivant la ligne 4-4 de la fig. 3; Les fig. 5 et 6 représentent, respective ment en élévation et en plan, le dispositif d'entraînement de la boîte en cours de mon tage aux points où s'effectuent les diverses opérations; La fig. 7 est une vue en élévation avee coupe partielle du même dispositif; La fig. 8 représente schématiquement en élévation le mécanisme de commande des or ganes mobiles -de la machine;
Sur la face extrême de ce tourniquet 16 est fixée une came étoilée ou croix de Malte 19 dans les branches de laquelle s'en gage successivement un maneton 20 -d'un pla teau manivelle 2i1. Ce plateau 21 étant animé d'un mouvement de rotation continu, par un mécanisme décrit plus loin, le tourniquet 16 prend ainsi, comme connu, un mouvement de rotation discontinu. Un dispositif placé en avant du tourniquet 16 permet de régulariser l'arrivée des em boutis A dans les rainures 18 de ce tourni quet;
(fig.
Machine for mounting stamped cardboard boxes or similar material. The present invention relates to a machine making it possible to carry out the automatic assembly, from their elements, of stamped cardboard boxes or similar material, such as, for example, cold boxes.
These boxes are generally made up of two identical cardboard elements forming the box and its cover and a cardboard strip or groove applied against the internal wall of the lower stamping, wider than the height of this wall, and on which comes to fit the cover or upper bouti. The box further comprises an inner bottom of corrugated cardboard occupying the bottom of the lower stamping.
The assembly of each box therefore includes several. essential operations consis both to successively place the groove and the corrugated bottom in the lower stamping and, em box on said groove the upper stamping.
According to the invention, the machine is arranged in such a way that each assembly operation is carried out by one of the members of which at least a part works -simultaneously and of which each is driven by a single reciprocating movement in one direction: determined.
In the appended drawing - given only by way of example: FIG. 1 shows, in vertical section, a stamped cardboard box - including. the assembly is performed automatically by the object machine of the invention; Fig. 2 is a schematic elevation view, with partial sections; of an embodiment of the machine which is the subject of the invention; Fig. 3 is the plan view;
Fig. 4 is a vertical section of this machine along the line 4-4 of FIG. 3; Figs. 5 and 6 show, respectively in elevation and in plan, the drive device of the box being assembled at the points where the various operations are carried out; Fig. 7 is a partial sectional elevation view of the same device; Fig. 8 schematically shows in elevation the control mechanism of the moving parts of the machine;
The- fig. 9 and 10 are respectively plan and end views of the same mechanism; Figs. 11 and 12 are detail views showing, on a larger scale, respectively in elevation and in plan, the device for absolute application -de the groove or circular strip of the box against the walls of this box.
The machine described below, by way of example, is more particularly suitable for mounting boxes such as that shown in FIG. 1. This box is essentially formed of two identical elements A and B of stamped cardboard, for example, or other suitable material, one of which A constitutes the bottom and the other B the cover. Against the internal walls of the stamping A is applied a strip or groove C, preferably of smooth cardboard, extending beyond the stamping A and on which the cover B. A base < I> D, preferably in corrugated cardboard, is placed at the base of the stamping A and inside the groove C.
According to the exemplary embodiment shown, the machine comprises a longitudinal frame. 1, in the form of a parallelepiped-box, resting at its ends on two bases 2. This frame contains the control mechanism for the boxes mounting organs (fig. 9 and 10) and serves as a support for these organs (fig. < B> 2,3 and 4).
On the frame 1 is disposed a channel 3 in the form of a slide (Fig. 2 to 4), the width of which is slightly greater than the diameter of a box, so as to ensure the guidance of the stampings constituting said box. This channel 3. comprises two parallel branches 3a and 3b running the length of the frame 1. One of the branches 3a of said channel communicates laterally with the base of a basket 4 in which are placed the stampings A and B serving when assembling the boxes.
The bottom of this basket 4 is formed by a platform 5 made of perforated sheet metal. A .guide .6 (fig. .3) placed in the middle of the "branch 3a of the channel, ensures the division of the stampings coming from the platform 5 to direct them towards the two ends of this branch.
In the example shown in FIGS. 3 and: 4, the displacement of the stampings A and B in branch 3a is obtained by means of conveyor belts 7-7a passing over pulleys 8-8a . These belts 7-7a are, for example, twinned and the pulleys are driven in a direction such that the stampings A and B carried by the belts move towards the ends of the channel 3.
The. pulleys 8-82 are wedged on shafts 9 and 9a driven respectively in opposite directions from each other by drive pulleys 11 and 11a (fig., 3, 4 and 9), themselves controlled by a mechanism described later.
At each end of channel 3, the internal edge of this channel is formed by the peripheral surface of a drive roller 1.3. or 13a mounted on an axis 14 or 14a passing through the center, of curvature of the channel $ (fi-. -3). The axis 14 or 14a is actuated, via the intermediary of bevel gears 15 or 15a, by the drive shaft 9 or 9a of the conveyor belts 7 or 7a (fig. 9 to 11).
On the channel 3, on the side opposite to the basket 4 and in the vicinity of the drive roller 13 is interposed (fig. 2 and, 3) a turnstile 16 bringing the stampings A, which must form the bottom, of the box, in the position suitable for undergoing the various assembly operations carried out in the second branch 3b of the channel 3.
The turnstile 16 is constituted by a drum rotating around an axis 17 and provided with slots or deep longitudinal grooves 1.8 in which the em-boutis can engage. AT.
On the end face of this 16 turnstile is fixed a star cam or Maltese cross 19 in the branches of which is successively a crank pin 20 - of a crank plate 2i1. This plate 21 being driven by a continuous rotational movement, by a mechanism described below, the turnstile 16 thus takes, as known, a discontinuous rotational movement. A device placed in front of the tourniquet 16 makes it possible to regularize the arrival of the em boutis A in the grooves 18 of this tourniquet;
this device consists of a shutter 22, mounted oscillating at 2,3 and moving intermittently towards the turnstile 16 under the action of a cam 24 against a return spring, not shown.
Following the turnstile 1.6, the front branch 3b of channel 3 is at a lower level than that of the others. parts of this channel. The positive-say for driving the stampings A. In this branch 3b comprises a tubular shuttle 215, disposed under the branch 3b and provided with tabs 26 engaging in said branch via a longitudinal slot 27 ( fig. 5 to 7). The number of tabs 26 depends on the number of operations to be carried out on the stampings A '(eight in the example shown).
The shuttle 25 is capable of receiving a reciprocating longitudinal movement combined with a reciprocating vertical movement - so as to move the stampings A ode intermittently in the direction of arrow f 1 (FIGS. 3 and 5). For this purpose, a connecting rod 2.8, articulated on the shuttle 25 (fig. 5) is connected, by a lever 29 mounted to oscillate at 30, to an eccentric 31 mounted on a shaft 32. receiving its movement from a transmission ap property.
The shaft on which the tubular shuttle 25 is threaded is articulated by its ends on two angled levers 313 articulated on two fixed axes @ 34 and interconnected by a rod 35.
A spring 36, bearing, on the one hand, on a part 37 fixed on the frame 1 Pt. On the other hand, on a collar 38 of the trin gle 3.5, tends to return the shuttle 25 in the direction - of the arrow f '. One of the angled levers 33 is rotatably attached to a finger 39 (fig. 5 to 7) submitted. to the action of a vertical pusher 40 sliding in the frame 1 and controlled by a cam 41 wedged on a longitudinal shaft 42 housed in the frame 1 (Fig. 4 to 9). The pusher 40 also controls the cam 24 of the oscillating wing 22 by means of levers not shown.
The -various assembly components are carried by the frame 1 and -disposed above the channel 3b after the turnstile 16 and one after the other in the order of the operations to be carried out.
A glue (fig. 2 and 3) makes it possible to reduce the internal edge of the stamping A which forms the base of the box. This glue is formed by a cylindrical reservoir 43 pierced at the base of lateral orifices 44. In the lower part @de this reservoir, larger in diameter than the upper part, a piston 45 moves vertically above which is located. glue.
Thus the piston 45 being -in the high position, the cylinder 43 rests on this piston by its narrow upper part and the glue cannot descend into the lower part.
Subsequently, the glue is placed a positive device for cutting the cylindrical strip or groove C (fig. 1) and introducing the said groove, in the stamp A coming from the glue 43 .
The cutting device comprises two rollers 46 (FIG. 1) between which passes a strip of smooth cardboard .47 coming from a roller 48 placed on a spindle 49 removably mounted on the longitudinal frame 1. The rolls 46, are wedged on two axes carried by a fixed auxiliary frame in front of the longitudinal frame 1 and can receive an intermittent rotational movement. For this purpose, one of the rollers 46 carries a pawl meshing with a ratchet wheel 51 mounted loose on the axis of said roller.
This ratchet wheel 51 is so lidaire of a lever connected to a rod M sliding in slides. The rod 53 is actuated by a cam 54 wedged on a shaft 55 receiving its movement from a mechanism described below. The shaft 55 is housed in a transverse frame .56 fixed on the longitudi- nal frame 1.
A horizontal knife 57 (fig. 2 and 3) enabling the cardboard strip 47 to be cut to the desired width, can slide perpendicular to said strip in a slide 58 immediately above the rollers 46. Two vertical knives 5.9 slide in. slides 60 perpendicular to the rollers and fixed on the auxiliary frame, below these rollers. The distance between these knives 59 is equal to the length that we want to give. throat or band C.
A system of levers allows -these knives to print a native alter rectilinear movement from a cam 61 wedged on the shaft 55; a lever 6'-2, actuated by the cam 61 is integral in rotation with an axis 63. This axis 6.3 carries two double levers 64 acting through one end on the horizontal knife 57 and through the end fault on two levers 65 mounted to oscillate on an axis 66 and each of which controls one of the vertical knives 59.
The device for inserting the strip cut into the stamping Coming from the glue 43 comprises (fig. 2 and 3) a piston 67 provided at the upper part with a shoulder 68 and movable vertically in -a circular guide 69 fixed on the edges of the channel '3h. Sufficient clearance is provided between said piston 67, including. the diameter is smaller than that of the stamping A, and the guide 69 to allow the introduction of the strip C.
The entrainment of this band between the piston 67 and the guide 69 is ensured by two rollers- 70 and 71 (fig. 3 and 10) -disposed on either side of the band C, and one of which 71 (fig. 3) is sensibly tangent to the circular guide 69.
These rollers 70, and 71 are fixed on des- axes 72 and 73. (Fig. 10), receiving ro- movements. tation in the opposite direction, from a shaft 74 by means of pulleys 75 and 76 of a belt 77 and a cross belt 78 (fig. 9 and 10).
A groove expander 79 making it possible to perfectly apply the strip or groove C against the internal edge of the stamping! 1 is placed above the channel 3b following the positive insertion device of said strip (fig. 2 and 3). This throat expander comprises (fig. 11 and 12) several circular segments 80-80a-80b (four in the example shown each forming a quarter of a circle) and of diameter slightly less than the inside diameter of the stamping.
Each segment 80 is part of a part 81 which is mounted oscillating on a horizontal axis 82 fixed on and inside a cylinder 79 (fig. 2 and 3) itself, fixed on the edges of the channel. 3b, this axis & 2 being perpendicular to the median plane of the corresponding segment 80. The edges of the segments 80 are bevelled and partially overlap, so that there is no discontinuity between them when they are applied to the cut strip C.
The control of segments 80 comprises a rod 83 carrying rollers 84 in a number equal to the number of segments 80. Each roller 84 is movable in a slide 85 formed in the corresponding part 81, so that a vertical movement of the rod 83 from top to bottom causes the simultaneous rotation of the segments 80, around their axes 82 in the direction of the arrows f2 and vice versa.
The machine comprises, following the throat extender 79, a device for setting up the D corrugated cardboard bottom (fig. 1) as well as a device for cutting this back. background.
The corrugated bottom is obtained by a device -double cutting fixed on the transverse frame 56 @. This device comprises -teux cylin dres 86 (Fig. 4) in which. two pistons can be moved vertically. 87 each carrying @ at the upper part a punch 88. At the base of each piston 87 is mounted a roller 8,9 with a horizontal axis, in contact with a cam 90, wedged on the shaft 55.
A die holder plate 9.1 is attached to the upper part of the cylinders. 86, an interval being formed between said cylinders and the die, so as to allow the passage of two strips 92 of corrugated cardboard coming from rolls 9.3. These rollers are placed on the same removable spindle 94 fixed on the longitudinal frame 1.
The advancement of the strips 92 of cardboard is dulated between the punches 88 and dies 91 is obtained by means of: a. trailing gripper system (fig. 2 to 4). The upper jaws 95 of these clamps are interconnected and fixed on a lever 96 articulated on a fixed axis 99 (fig. 2) and actuated by a cam 97 (fig. 3, 9 and 10) wedged on the shaft. 55.
The lower jaws 98 are fixed on an axis mounted idle on the lever 9: 6 and whose oscillation is controlled by means of a system of the viers, by a cam 100 wedged on the shaft 55, which ensures 'intermittently tightening the bands 92; of corrugated cardboard between the upper 95 and lower 98 jaws of the grippers.
A shuttle 101 (fig. 3 and 4) carrying two tabs 102, and movable between -two slides 103, makes it possible to bring the bottom D of corrugated cardboard, obtained by the cutting device described above. above, above the stamp A which is placed in the channel 3b. This shuttle 101 is connected by a connecting rod 104 to a plate my level 105 wedged on a vertical shaft 106 dragged by the shaft 55 by means of a bevel gear 107 (fig. 4, 9 and 10 ) .
A disc-shaped piston 108 is movable vertically in a reciprocating motion above the channel 3b (fig. 2 to 4) opposite the shuttle 101 and enables the corrugated cardboard bottom D to be pushed inside. from em bouti A.
Following this piston 108 is placed a device for correcting the position of the groove C and the corrugated bottom D inside the stamping A. This device consists of a piston 109 (fig. 2 and 3). the diameter of which is slightly less than the diameter of the groove C. The piston 109 comprises a shoulder 110 in which is, preferably, a circular groove or groove which is applied to the strip or groove C of the box A. The distance between the shoulder 110 and the base of the piston 109 is substantially equal to the height of the band C minus the thickness of the corrugated bottom D.
At the end of the channel 3b which is opposite the turnstile 16 (fig. 2 and 3) and in the vicinity of the drive roller 1'3a is disposed a piston 111, movable vertically above a cylindrical guide 112 flared from preferably funnel-shaped at the top. The rounded end of the channel 3 stops abruptly in front of the guide 112 and above this guide, so as to allow the arrival of the stampings B, forming the lids of the boxes, below the piston 111 and above. above the stamping A which has undergone the grinding operation.
A suitable device then makes it possible to mark and count the finished boxes and to correct their closing, if necessary. In the example shown in FIGS. 2 and 3, this device comprises a piston 11, 31 carrying a wick wick .114 whose wick 1.15 is flush with the base of the piston. This piston 113 is pierced with an opening through which passes a key 116 actuating a counter 117.
The branch 3b of the channel 3 is terminated by a slope below which is arranged a horizontal gutter 118 fixed to the longitudinal frame 1 (Figs. 2 and 3). A piston 119 is movable horizontally, with an alternating movement, in a slide carried by the longitudinal frame 1, below the channel 3b. This piston 119 is actuated by an arm 120 of a double lever, the other arm 121 of which is in contact with a pusher 122 controlled by a cam 128- wedged on the shaft 42 (fig. 2; 8-and 9 ).
The control mechanism of the various mounting members described above is shown schematically in FIGS. 8 to 10. This mechanism comprises a pulley 124 connected to a motor 125 by a belt 126. This pulley is mounted loose on a motor shaft 127 to which it can be secured by an appropriate clutch device 128.
The motor shaft 127 controls by pulleys 12.9 and belt 130 (Fig. 8 to 10) the intermediate shaft 74. This shaft 74 is connected on one side by pulleys. 131 and belt 132 ,, to the shaft 9 and -on the other hand, by pulleys the 33, and cross belt 134, to the shaft 9a, these shafts 9 and 9a driving, as we have seen, the conveyor belts 7 and 7a and the drive rollers 13 and 1.3a. On the intermediate shaft 74 is also fixed the pulley 75 transmitting their movement to the rollers 70 and 71: for driving the cut strip C of smooth cardboard.
The motor shaft 127 also drives via a reduction gear 135 the transverse shaft 55 on which the control eccentric 3.1 of the longitudinal blade 25 are wedged, the cams 6.1, 90, 54 , M and 100 respectively controlling the -cutting of the strip 47 of smooth cardboard and the strips 92 of corrugated cardboard, the advancement of these strips, the clamping -of the pieces, 9 , 5-9-8 as well as. the bevel gear 107 for controlling the transverse shuttle 101.
, On the transverse shaft 55 is also wedged a bevel pinion 13; 6 ensuring the drive of the longitudinal shaft 42, which is -di referred to in two parts, by two pinions 137. On this longitudinal shaft 42 are wedged cams 13.8, (fig. 4.8 and 9) which actuate the pistons 45, 67, 108, 109, 111 and 113 and the control rod 83 of the groove expander, ensuring the successive operations @de assembly.
Each of these pistons is integral with a rod 130 (FIGS. 2 and 4) fixed on an arm 140 carried by a pusher 141. This neck pusher smooths vertically in a guide 142. fixed on the frame 1, said pusher being. in contact with one of. cams 13.8. On the longitudinal shaft 42'-is also wedged the cam 12'3 actuating the stacking piston. 6 The transverse shaft 55 also controls the crank plate 21 which drives the turnstile 16.
For this purpose, the crank plate 21 is wedged on a shaft 143. (-f-; g. 8. To 10) connected by chain 144 and toothed wheels 145, to the transverse shaft 515.
The operation of this machine is as follows: The stampings A and B are placed on the platform 5 of the machine (fig. 3), so that they. rest on this platform by their edges and not by the bottom. These em boutis are engaged. manually on the belts 7 and 7a which drive them towards the two ends of channel 3.
The left-hand stampings A leaving the conveyor belts 7 are driven by the roller 13 and pushed by the following stampings, towards the turnstile 1.6. The turnstile 116 rotates intermittently in the direction of the arrow f3 (fig. 2), marking a stop-time when a groove 18 of this drum passes at the level of the channel 3. At this time, the oscillating flap 22 has moved outwardly to channel 3, - so as to let an em bouti A which. enters groove 18.
This stamped A is then pushed by the shutter 22 which takes the position shown in FIG. 3 under, the action of the cam 24 .. Thus at as a groove 18 of the drum 16 passes at the level of channel 3, a. stamped A is introduced into this groove.
Turnstile 16 turns them over. stamped A and deposits them successively on the front branch 3b of the channel @ 3, where the tabs 26 of the shuttle 25 present them successively below each assembly device, thanks to the double reciprocating longitudinal and vertical movement of said shuttle 25.
Thus the boat 25 being lifted by the pusher 40 while it is moving in the direction of the arrow fl (fig. 5), the tabs 26 engage in the slot 27 of the channel 3b and drive the stampings A During the return trip; the shuttle 2.5 lowers and the tabs 26 disengage from the slot 27, leaving the stampings A at the points where they had been drawn.
The first operation undergone by each stamped A, after it has passed through the tourni quet 16 is gluing. The stamped A being under the cylinder 43- (fig. 2), the piston 45 of the ash under the action of the cam 13,8 which controls it, and the cylinder 43. which rests on this udder also descends. until it comes to rest on the bottom of the stamping A. At this time, the piston 45, continuing its stroke, drives out the glue which is located below it through the orifices 44.
When the piston 45 rises again, a certain quantity of glue passes below it until it closes the upper reservoir. The piston 45 then drives the cylinder 4S in its upward movement. The glue maker is thus ready to operate in order to coat the inner edge of the next stamp with glue. It should be noted that if there is no box in channel 3b below cylinder 43, the gluing device does not work.
Indeed, the cylin-, dre 43 being able to descend freely follows the downward movement .du piston 45 and there is no relative movement between these two members, however small it may be, capable of driving out the glue by them. orifices 44. The stamping A which comes from: the glueer is driven by the shuttle 2.5, under the device for introducing the strip or groove C, which the knives 57 and 59 have previously cut out of the strip of smooth cardboard 47.
The rollers 70 and 71 drive this strip: cut out in the direction of the arrow f 4 and push it between the piston @ 6-7 and the circular guide 69 where it thus takes the appropriate shape. At this moment, the piston 67, controlled by the corresponding cam 138, descends, driving the groove C (thanks to a small circular shoulder: of this piston) to the bottom of the grinder, A.
The strip or groove, C thus placed in the stamping A is applied in a manner made against the edges:: of this stamping, by the expander device: of the groove under which the stamp A is then driven by the shuttle 25.
The segments 80 of this device are loose. In the high position (shown only for two of them 80b and 8-0e, in fig. II and 12) when the stamp A comes into position under cylinder 79 (fig. 2! and, 3). When the rod 83, driven by a reciprocating movement, descends, the rollers 84 slide in the slides 85 driving the segments 80 which pi vote around their axes 82 in the opposite direction to the arrows, f2. In this movement, the segments 80 gradually penetrate the interior of the stamping A, starting with their central part. So there is no risk of hanging.
The segments 80 apply the groove C against the walls: of the stamping A in an absolute manner, since there is no: discontinuity between them, and make their ends join exactly (position shown for, two segments only 80 and 80a in fig. 11 and 12).
When the rod 83 goes up, the rollers 84 cause the segments 80 to oscillate in the direction of the arrows f2.
The stamped A, thus provided -de the groove C, is driven by the shuttle 25 under the piston 108 to receive the bottom D of corrugated cardboard. This bottom is cut by the punches 88 from the corrugated cardboard strips 92, the simultaneous intermittent advance of which in the direction of the arrow f is produced by the bone movement of the driving grippers 95-98.
The corrugated bottom D is raised by the punch 8.8: cutting up to the horizontal drive plane towards the channel 3b. Shuttle . 10-1, driven by a reciprocating back and forth movement, drives this bottom D above the stamping A placed under the piston 10, 8. At this time, the piston 108 lowers and pushes the bottom D inside: of the stamping A, then it goes up.
The longitudinal shuttle 2; 5 then drives this stamped A below: of the next piston 1019 which, while lowering, applies the bottom on dulé D and the groove C on the bottom of the end piece A.
The stamped thus prepared forms the box which then passes under the piston 111 to receive its cover. This cover is one of the stampings B driven by the conveyor belts 7a and the roller 13a. This roller successively engages each stamp B under the pis ton 111 above the funnel of the cylindrical guide 112. The piston 111 pushes the end B into the cylindrical guide 112 and thus covers the lower stamp A.
The box closed by the piston 111 passes ,,, where the next piston 113 which; in. lowering, presses on the cover B and thus ensures, if necessary, the perfect closing of the box. At the same time, the bit 115 marks the cover key B and the key 116 activates the counter 117.
The marked and counted box is driven by the: last cleat 216: of the shuttle 25 on the slope, of the channel 3b from where it slides: in the gutter. The piston 119 ensures the stacking: boxes which arrive successively in this gutter.
This machine has, on known machines: for automatic assembly of stamped cardboard boxes, the advantage of having a much greater throughput without the duration of each operation being reduced.
In fact, in these machines, each assembly operation is carried out by a single organ which must consequently be animated by several movements in: different directions. This is how, for example, the establishment of the bottom D in corrugated cardboard is obtained, in these machines, by a nozzle which lifts the bottom, transports it horizontally above the stamping, then deposits it. inside this stamping. The squeegee then resumes its initial position by movements in reverse.
This nozzle therefore successively performs three reciprocating movements. two-stroke to set up a single corrugated cardboard bottom.
Far against, in the machine described above, each assembly operation is carried out by one or more members each simultaneously driven by a single reciprocating movement. This is how the corrugated cardboard bottom D is brought by the punch 88, movable vertically, into the horizontal plane where the shuttle 101 moves, which drives it below the piston 108.
This vertically movable piston 10.8 pushes the corrugated cardboard bottom D into a stamped A placed below. Thus, the three bodies @de establishment of the corrugated bottom, working simultaneously, every second of their movement, on three successive funds, 'the establishment.-of one. of these funds requires only a period corresponding to two times - of the movement - of these organs.
As a result, for the same speed, displacement of the mounting members, the machine described performs the establishment of a. melts three times faster than known machines. It is moreover - the same for the other assembly operations and consequently the throughput of the machine is considerably increased.
Another advantage of this machine results from the double cutting device which allows continuous feeding of corrugated cardboard rolls without the need to stop the machine.
In fact, when the corrugated cardboard roll which feeds the machine draws to its end, it suffices to start feeding the machine on the second cutting cylinder, with the second roll without stopping the machine. introducing the free end of this roller between the driving clamps 95--9.8. In addition, thanks to the throat expander device,
this one is applied in a perfect way against the internal wall (of lower stamping, because there is no -discontinuity at the joints of the four circular segments of this expander and the pressure of the segments on the groove is maximum timely.
In addition, when the machine is supplied with stampings, it is not necessary to distinguish those of these stampings which must form the bottom and the cover of the box. Indeed, these stampings are identical and it suffices that they are all placed in the same way on the platform of the machine, the turnstile turning over those of them which must form the bottom of the box.
Of course, the invention is in no way limited to the details of the embodiment shown and described which have been chosen only by way of example.
