Fig. 2- zeigt ein Ausführungsbeispiel des Erfindungsgegenstandes.
Lightning protection device for low voltage. A lightning protection device for low voltage, i. H. Voltages up to 1000 volts, has the task of diverting induced overvoltages and static charges on the lines, which can often assume a dangerous level for the insulation, to earth, as well as the transfer of high voltage to the low voltage network in the event of transformer breakdowns by earthing the system parts to limit a harmless measure.
There are arresters known in which a resistor is connected in series with a spark gap, but also electromagnetic arresters which have a double interruption of the current path of the leakage current, both a spark gap and an electromagnetic interrupter actuated by the leakage current. The scheme of such an apparatus is shown in FIG. The apparatus consists essentially of an induction-free bleeder resistor Rs, to which a coil 1 is connected in parallel, the movable core 2 of which is connected to one end of the resistor Rs.
When the arrester is de-energized, the movable one often rests on the bottom of the apparatus, while the spark gap 3 normally isolates the apparatus parts described above from the line. The spark gap 3 is set in such a way that it responds to an overvoltage of a certain level, regardless of the frequency, whereupon the leakage current flows through the apparatus to earth.
The low-frequency mains current following the flashover is mainly limited in size by the induction-free resistance Rs; in the shunt to this, however, a current also flows through the coil 1, the core 2 of which is thereby lifted from the earth contact 6, whereby an interruption of the current path takes place and the current flowing from the network is immediately interrupted by the resulting air gap; then the apparatus returns to its rest position, i.e. H. contact 2/6 is closed again.
The quality of such an arrester lies on the one hand in the lowest possible response voltage so that poor network insulation can be protected and on the other hand in the permissibility of the largest possible leakage current. Despite the low response voltage, the spark gap should safely extinguish and interrupt the break contact controlled by the electro-magnet properly. The less the mains and response voltages differ from one another and the greater the leakage current, the more fire pearls can arise at the spark gap.
After a number of responses, these fire pearls can lead to a bridging of the spark gap, as a result of which the electro-magnetic part becomes so tired that the device can become defective after a long time and a permanent earth fault occurs. This risk is to be remedied by the present invention.
The subject of the present invention is therefore a lightning protection apparatus which has an electrothermal device which is designed in such a way that it is heated when there is a ge know. of the control unit of the electrothermal release device puts the apparatus out of operation through the diverted current. However, this mechanism should only work if both the extinguishing spark gap and the electromagnetic interruption device have become defective and ineffective due to the circumstance described above, so that an earth fault and the related consequences are avoided.
Fig. 2- shows an embodiment of the subject matter of the invention. For a better understanding, the electrothermal release mechanism is shown on a larger scale in FIG. It means 3 (Fig. 2) the spark gap, Rs the induction-free resistor, which has a tubular shape and in whose bore the core 2 'actuated by the coil 1 is located.
In the isolated lead out ground terminal 4 is the release device 5, be standing from a steel or resistance material soldered to the power contact 6 spring 7, at the bottom of which a metal pin 8 is attached. The spring 9 tends to pull the metal piece 8 downwards. As soon as a larger current flows through the apparatus for a long time, the copper contact 6 and the spring 7, which was inserted into the copper piece 6 by means of an easily fusible solder, heats up on the one hand as a result of the interruptions occurring.
The solder becomes liquid after a while, the spring 9 pulls the pin 8 down, whereupon the apparatus is disabled and a permanent earth fault and thus destruction of the apparatus is prevented. As soon as the device has triggered, the pin 8 becomes visible outside the device. The device can be made usable again by simply heating it with the soldering iron.
So that the arc quenching of the spark gap is as good as possible, spark gaps with plate-shaped electrodes, so-called plate spark gaps, can be arranged, which electrodes are separated by spacer pieces made of mica or other non-combustible spacer pieces; this means that a response voltage that is as uniform as possible can be achieved.
In order to be able to achieve a large leakage current, the resistance Rs must be chosen accordingly low; the coil current is conditioned by the resistance Bi of the coil and the additional resistance R2. Ri -f- R2 should always be greater than Rs, so that the derivation takes place mainly through the non-inductive resistance Rs.
