Electrical switch actuated by pressure in liquid or gas lines. The present invention relates to an electrical switch which is intended to be actuated as a function of the pressure prevailing in liquid or gas lines, for example to close the electrical circuit of a motor, an apparatus or a group switch. to interrupt. This function is also briefly referred to below as "switching on or off".
For example, the task may be to switch an electrical machine or an apparatus on or off. switch off when the machine resp. the pressure of the liquid or gas lines on which der.Apparat is closed, drops below a certain level (minimum) and turns off or again. switch on when the pressure (minimum) is exceeded again.
Known switches for similar purposes all have springs, rings, etc., which counteract a lever system unterworfe the liquid or gas pressure. These structural parts will show signs of fatigue or breakage over time. Furthermore, these switches are often under the influence of the fluids or vapors flowing through the apparatus, whereby the individual parts of the apparatus are subject to rusting and the like.
The switch according to the invention, which has a pressure membrane, remedies these disadvantages, by inevitably transferring the membrane movement to the circuit dominating contact elements are provided that counteract the liquid or gas pressure by gravity without the use of any springs, with at least one movable Part of this transmission means is designed as a carrier for the con tact organs.
Using two examples shown in the accompanying drawings, the switch according to the invention will be explained in more detail. Fig. I shows the switch in elevation, partly in section. 1 is the switch housing, which in the lower part connects the connection 2 to the liquid or. Gas network and top left the junction box 3 with a terminal board to which the entering Netzleitun conditions, as well as the outgoing lines to an apparatus or motor are connected.
The liquid or gas connection has a bore 4 through which the pressure liquid or the pressure gas enters and fills the space 5. The latter is sealed against the switch housing by the disk membrane 6 so that the liquid or the vapors cannot penetrate into the mechanism of the switch. If a certain pressure of the gases or the liquid acts on the membrane, it transfers the pressure force on it to the membrane plate 7.
This itself acts through its spindle 8 on the transmission lever 9, which at the other end passes on its movement to the levers 10 and 11. Lever 11 is designed as a carrier plate for the circuit breaker 12 finite the pivot point 13, so that the current is interrupted when the rods 8-11 go up. The circuit breakers 12 are Q, silver switching tubes; however, other suitable contact organs can also be attached in their place.
In order to oppose a sufficient restoring force to counteract the pressure of the minebrand, the lever 9 also carries an additional weight 14, which can be fixed or adjustable on the latter. This weight returns the switch to its rest position; as soon as the membrane pressure has decreased sufficiently. The circuit is then closed again. By choosing the counterweight and the lever ratios it is achieved that only after certain below or. upper pressure limits the contact organs on or. turn off.
On a segment-shaped dial 15 control and warning markings can be attached so that the switching device, not only as such; but also serves as a display device.
Fig. II again shows the housing with the connections 2 and 3 for the gas or the liquid and for the power cables. The membrane 4 is designed here as a bellows membrane on which the membrane plate 5 with the spindle 6 rests in the interior. The lever 7 is designed as a heavy weight lever, on which, however, an additional weight 8 can be placed if necessary. As in the example according to FIG. I, the membrane movements are transmitted to the circuit breakers 11 by means of levers 7, 9 and 10.
Hel) el 10 is designed as a lever plate, which can have any appropriate shape, for example circular shape 16; instead of in the vertical plane, it can also swing around a horizontal axis of rotation as a horizontal plate. The lever plate 10 also carries one or more circuit breakers, which can be arranged one above the other or also lying next to one another. Next, the movement of the lever plate 10 is transmitted through a toothed segment 12 which engages in a gear 13 on which the pointer 14 is fastened. The pointer positions and thus the respective liquid or gas pressure as well as the switch positions can be read on a scale 15.
The pointer device can also be actuated directly from the lever 7 without transmission through levers 9 and 10.
Since lever connections can be replaced by gears and racks; Thus, instead of using levers 7 and 9, the membrane movement can also be transmitted by a suitable combination, either using a rack and gear, or directly to the carrier plate 10, with the force of gravity causing the reset.
In Fig. III and IV switches are shown for two different types of use. According to Fig. III, a switch is provided which switches off when a pressure minimum is reached.
The connection to the pressure network is made with the aid of a piece 2. Before and after the same there are two throttle valves 3 and 4, which are set for certain flow rates and at the same time generate a back pressure in the tea piece 2, in which, measured from the entry point of the pressure medium, the second valve is throttled more than the first. If the initial pressure falls to near or below the normal mean pressure during operation, the entire lever device is lowered as a result of the weight effect until the electrical switching device finally reaches the lower end position and interrupts the circuit of an apparatus which indicates the amount of liquid flowing through.
In this way, the switch works as a quantity control device for the liquids or gases flowing through the pipes, depending on the liquid or gas pressure.
According to FIG. IV, a switch 1 according to FIG. II is connected to a liquid reservoir 2. As the liquid level in the reservoir changes, the membrane pressure also varies; Depending on this, the switch sets, for example, a pump group 3 for feeding the Re reservoir in and out of operation.
Furthermore, the switch according to the invention can be designed in such a way that it can regulate certain limits via increasing gas or liquid pressures by switching off the device generating these pressures, or in such a way that it sends a signaling device under the influence of the gas or liquid pressure prevailing in the lines actuated, in which a signal circuit is closed when a maximum pressure is reached.
