Piston for small bore pumps. The present invention is a piston for pumps of small bore, making it possible to have a seal .de dimensions Te latively large and therefore more robust and easy to change.
In the accompanying drawing, FIGS. 1 and 2 show in section an embodiment of the invention, given by way of example.
The piston is mounted with play on a movable rod and therewith forming a suction valve.
The piston itself is elongated in shape and has two parts offset with respect to one another in the direction of its axis.
The first part forms with the piston rod a suction valve and the second part carries the seal with the cylinder wall. These two parts are connected together and form a single organ which is the piston.
The first part is formed by a plug traversed with play by the rod of the screw 3 screwed to the end of the piston rod 2. This plug 1 is itself screwed into the piston body 4 of the second part. .
The body 4 is provided with an entirely free axial channel and carries the sealing gasket 6 which is held by the nuts 5. This gasket will obviously be of a material suitable for the fluid to be pumped.
The end of the piston rod 2 is provided with a gasket, for example a leather washer, intended to form .soupape, obstructing the hole in the plug 1 during delivery.
The stopper 1 is provided at f (fig. 2) with one or more notches in order to allow the passage of the fluid to be pumped during the suction stroke.
The lining 6 can be any, either washers, segments, stamped leathers, etc. and can be held in place by nuts as in the drawing or in any other way.
At G is an excavation larger than the head of the screw 3 to allow the passage of the fluid. FIG. 3 represents, by way of example, a sprayer pump, provided with the pistou according to the invention.
This pump consists of the cylinder 8 carrying at one of its ends a check valve 14 provided with a spray member 15 placed in a stopper provided with the outlet hole 9.
The rod 2 passes through the stuffing box 13. At 10 is a mouthpiece pierced with a hole g through which the fluid to be pumped is sucked. This mouthpiece is connected to a tank whatever conch.
The piston has a slight play on the rod in the axial direction, which allows the fluid to pass through the piston when the rod 2 is moved in the direction of the arrow (fig. 1).
By maneuvering the rod in the direction of the arrow (fig.3), the piston rests against the rod 2. The washer 7 producing the seal, the liquid can no longer pass through the piston, it is then driven into the pump body 8 and passing through the valve 14 will exit through the orifice 9.
