Description
2), soit des pans coupés i (fig.
End-to-end assembly device for profiled metal parts. The object of the invention is a device for butt-joining profiled metal parts, such as single and double T, U, irons. angles, beams with wide or normal flanges, shoe rails.
The assemblies commonly executed by means of simple flat bars fixed to the web of the joists to be assembled may be sufficient when it is only a question of ensuring the, liai sound of two joist bars; on the other hand where it is a question of also transmitting the forces to which the beams are subjected, this method of assembly, because of its low rigidity, cannot. be applied, unless however also providing a connection .des wings.
These drawbacks are avoided according to the invention thanks to the fact that the device comprises at least one fishplate which has at least two parts forming an angle between them and the outer faces of which at least generally match the arrangement of those. of the faces of the metal parts opposite which they are located. The accompanying drawing shows, by way of example, several embodiments of the device.
Fig. 1. is a perspective view of a first embodiment; Figs. 2 to 9 each show in cross section another embodiment. The first embodiment (fig. 1) is used to assemble two beams a, b having a double cross section T, in which the web and the flanges to their births have about the same thickness. It comprises for this purpose two ribs c, having a section in U and consequently having three plane outer faces d, e, f forming angles between them; these three faces exactly match the arrangement: those of the faces of the beams a, b on which they are applied.
The fishplates c are riveted at g to the joists a, b. In this way, a very rigid assembly is obtained capable of transmitting from one joist to another the stresses that one of them undergoes, without it being necessary to place flat connecting bars on the beams. exterior faces of the beams of the joists.
According to fig. 2 and 3 the ribs c marry exactly the arrangement: joists such as a, except at the angles where they present either - leaves h (fig. 2), or cut sides i (fig. 3); their angles have rounded shapes whose radii of curvature are substantially equal to those of the rounded edges existing between the internal faces of the beams. In fig. 2, fishplates and joists are joined by bolts j. Souls: dustbins here are thinner than the thinnest parts of the wings.
According to fig. 4 the fishplates c are joined to the joists by welding in k in the holes l and will go to the lateral ends of the flanges of these joists.
The ribs n in fig. 5 also have a U, section but also have flanges o resting laterally on the edge p-of the flanges of the joists. Therefore their cores q are at a short distance from the webs r of the joists.
The fi-. 6 shows fish plates s whose outer faces quite exactly match the arrangement of the corresponding faces of the joists a, but whose flanges t nevertheless have a slightly greater inclination than the flanges 2a of these joists. During assembly, they are therefore forced between the wings u, which further increases the rigidity of the assembly.
According to fig. 7 it is a question of assembling two irons v in U, which takes place by means of a 2o splice in U matching very exactly the arrangement of the internal faces - joists, while however having fillets h at its angles. The connection between trellis and fishplate takes place by means of bolts joining two by two the webs, on the one hand, and the wings, on the other hand.
According to fig. 8 x joists to be assembled have an inverted T section. There are two fishplates y which have the form of angles and whose outer faces exactly match the arrangement of the inner faces of the wings and the faces of the webs of the joists.
Finally, fig. 9 shows the assembly of two angles z by means of a joint 9 exactly matching the arrangement of the internal faces of the angles.
The ribs can be made of butted flat bars or be rolled to the desired profile; they can be obtained either in profiled bars: of normal length, greater than theirs, or in parts having their length.
