Es sind Unterschlagpicker bekannt, bei denen eine oder mehrere der den Picker bildenden Lederschichten bis in die Mitte des Pickerkopfes durchlaufen. Um dem Pickerkopf hierbei die erforderliche Stärke zu geben, hat man in solchem Falle beid- seits der freien Kante Beilagen angeordnet und diese mittelst eines darüber gelegten Lederstreifens und einigen Nieten mit den durchlaufenden Lederschichten verbunden.
Eine solche Ausführungsform der Picker kann den ausserordentlich grossen Stössen, de nen der Picker ausgesetzt ist, nicht auf die Dauer standhalten. Die Beilagen werden vielmehr nach kurzer Zeit abspringen oder mindestens sich teilweise ablösen.
Dies wird um so leichter eintreten, als es sich bei Web- stühlen mit Steiglagen nicht vermeiden lässt, dass im raschen Wechsel nacheinander Web- schützen mit verschieden hoch liegenden Schützenspitzen vor den Picker eingestellt werden und dieser infolgedessen nicht immer nur mit seinen durchlaufenden Lederschich ten auf die Schützenspitze auftreffen kann.

Fig. 1 ist die Seitenansicht eines Unter- schlagpickers; Fig. 2 ist eine Stirnansicht; Fig. 3 stellt ihn im Grundriss dar; Fig. 4 ist ein Schnitt durch den Picker- kopf.
Der Picken besteht aus dem Kopf ?, dem Mittelteil 2 und dem Pickerspindelfüh- rungskopf 3 mit der Durchtrittsöffnung 4 für den Schläger.
Der Picken ist in der Hauptsache aus zwei Lederlagen hergestellt, nämlich aus einem laugen Lederstück 6 und einem kür zeren 7. Beide Lagen ergänzen sich in der Stärke derart, dass eine genügende Dicke des Pickens, insbesondere im Mittelteil, erreicht wird. An und für sich können die Lagen verschieden stark sein und aus gleich oder verschieden gegerbtem Leder oder sonstigen Materialien bestehen. Die kürzere Lage bildet die Pickerspindelwand 5, läuft dann durch den Mittelteil 2 hindurch und endet in der Mitte des Pickerkopfes 1.
Diese Lage 7 dient in erster Linie zur Übertragung der Kraft vom Schläger 9, beziehungsweise der zwischen den Schläger und den Picken ein geschalteten, als Schoner bezeichneten Bei lage 10 auf den Pickerkopf 1 und die Schüt zenspitze.
Die freie Kante der bis in die Mitte des Pickerkopfes reichenden Lage 7 wird von einer Einlage 11 reiterartig umschlossen. Diese Einlage zusammen mit der Einlage 7 ergibt den Pickerkopf. Um die Einlage 11 zuverlässig an ihrer Stelle festzuhalten, ist in den Pickerkopf 1 eine Vertiefung 14 ein gepresst. Die dadurch bedingte Verlagerung der Lederschichten in der Mitte des Picker- kopfes 1 sichert die Einlage 11 gegen eine Verschiebung.
Die Lederlage 7 zusammen mit der Einlage 11 wird umschlossen von der längeren Lage 6, die somit die äussere Wandung des Pickens bildet. Durch Nieten 16, die ausschliesslich im Mittelteil des Pik- kers vorgesehen sind, werden alle Lederlagen fest zusammengehalten, ohne dass eine wei tere Nietung oder andere Hilfsmittel er forderlich sind. Der Picken kann daher bis zum letzten Rest beidseitig abgearbeitet werden.
Für die Zuverlässigkeit der Kraftüber tragung ist es ferner von wesentlicher Be deutung, dass die Schlaglochwand 9 völlig flach und nicht in der sonst üblichen Weise gewölbt ist. An diese flache.Seitenfläche 9 des Schlagloches 4 legt sich die Auswölbung 15 der Beilage 10, gegen deren freie Kante 17 der Schlagstock arbeitet. Hierdurch wird erreicht, dass die Schlagkraft sicher nur auf die mittlere Lage des Pickens übertragen und eine nennenswerte Relativbewegung. welche zu frühzeitiger Abnutzung Veranlas sung geben würde, vermieden wird.
