Ball winding machine. The subject of the invention is a ball winding machine which is set up especially for manual operation and intended for domestic use, by means of which yarns, cords and other threads are wound on a rotating, inclined spindle to form a ball that can be stripped off by the latter, the thread being wound over one , free end of a rotating,
said Spin del encircling winding fork is performed.
The machines of this type that have become known up to now have the disadvantage that the yarn or thread is exposed to harmful friction and tension on its way over the winding fork and as a result often breaks. This inadequate mode of operation is mainly due to the fact that the thread runs on the inner side of the fork arch, in the direction of a tendon of this arch, and forms a sharp, acute angle at the eyelet at the end of the arch, at which point the thread is usually tears,
especially if the gait of these machines is irregular and therefore not smooth during manual operation.
In the subject matter of the invention, these deficiencies have been remedied by the fact that the spindle and winding fork, whose relative speed of rotation is unequal, are driven by a common shaft, one relatively slow, by means of friction wheels, the other relatively fast, by means of belt or cord drive, whereby the thread on the outer side of the winding fork, preferably as the corresponding fork arm along which one free end of the latter is supplied.
This arrangement ensures that the machine runs smoothly and smoothly, that the thread is guided reliably, and it also offers the possibility of significantly limiting the dimensions of the machine, that is to say, to make the entire construction compensatory.
In the drawing, an embodiment example of the subject invention is illustrated, namely shows: Fig. 1 is a longitudinal section and Fig. 2 is a cross section of the same.
The drive shaft 4, which carries a flywheel 5 and can be set in rotation by means of a hand crank 6, is mounted on a frame 3, preferably made of cast metal. The following are also mounted on the frame: the semicircular winding fork 7, by means of the hollow spindle 8, as well as the inclined spindle 9. The spindles 8 and 9 lie in the same vertical plane; however, the spindle 9 is inclined kelgrade by 45 Win with respect to the horizontally mounted spindle 8. A wheel 10 is attached to the spindle 9, and a coil-like, slightly conical pin 11 is attached.
The drive of the spindle 9, or the pin 11 takes place through the drive shaft 4 by means of a rubber roller 12 on the latter, which drives the wheel 10 by friction and the pin 11 a relatively slow rotary movement, in a ratio of 6: 1, about its axis granted. The flywheel 5 transmits the rotary motion of the shaft 4 with six-fold translation to the spindle 8, mediating the Sai tenlaufes 13 and the roller 14, so that the winding fork makes 36 revolutions, while the pin 11 only rotates one revolution around its axis, wherein the two arms or branches of the fork V move in a circle around the pin 11.
The thread 17 of the skein of yarn, which is stretched on a reel, passes through the hollow spindle 8, emerges from the latter through an opening 1 5, runs along one arm of the fork 7, on the outer side of the latter, after the fork end, and ge finally reached through an opening 16 of the fork to the pin 11, where it is wound into a cylindrical ball 17 '. On the corresponding branch of the fork 7, the thread is guided in a channel 18 with one or more eyelets 19. Instead of eyelets, more or less wide stirrups that bridge the channel 18 could be provided.
The channel 18 is preferably formed by a corresponding, hollow-cone-shaped transverse profile of the fork arm.
From the drawing it can be seen that the thread 17 is guided approximately at a right angle from the fork to the ball 17 ', while in the known machines from the hollow spindle 8, on the inside of the fork, according to a chord of the corresponding Fork arm, after the end of the latter runs and then at a sharp, acute angle after the ball (indicated by dash-dotted lines in Fig. 1). According to the new arrangement, it is also possible to arrange the spindle 9 and Wicl fork 7 significantly closer to one another and consequently to build the machine more compactly, since the thread guide no longer forms an obstacle.
After the winding fork has been placed horizontally, the finished thread can be stripped from the slightly conical pin.
The drive of the spindles 8 and 9 by means of a common shaft is noiseless and ensures a constant speed ratio between the two spindles, or the production of a regularly wound, loose yarn ball.
