Description

Cylinder covers for internal combustion engines. In the case of cylinder covers for internal combustion engines that are soldered together from individual parts, the individual parts are expediently of a simple shape in order to achieve tight and reliable soldered seams at all points of contact. For complicated cylinder covers, e.g. B. for four-stroke machines, in which meh eral valves and guide walls for the coolant are available, the achievement of tight soldered seams is not easy.

Cylinder covers for pulp engines are already known which have a cast cover body and a cover plate which closes the cover body off from the combustion chamber. The valve tubes, reinforcement ribs and guide walls for the coolant are cast into the cover body. Cast steel was used for the cover body and a heat-resistant metal for the cover plate. In these Zylin derdeckeln the cover plate is screwed or welded to the cover body.

The invention relates to cylinder cover of this type; According to the same, the cover plate is pressed into the cast steel piece and soldered to it. By pressing a, the production of a tight and reliable solder seam between the cover body and the cover plate is secured. The design of the cover body, which is open towards the combustion chamber, avoids casting stresses and enables the core to be cast and removed easily. The use of a special cover plate enables the choice of a material for the plate that is particularly resistant to heat.

Finally, the manufacture of the cylinder cover is easy.

The drawing illustrates the invention using an exemplary embodiment.

Fig. 1 is a vertical section through the cylinder cover taken along line C-D of Fig. 2; Fig. 2 is a horizontal section along the line A-B of Fig. 1. The force-absorbing cylinder cover body a is made of cast steel. It has a cooling chamber that is open towards the combustion chamber. This space is closed off from the combustion chamber by a cover plate b, which is pressed into the cylinder cover body and soldered to it, which the drawing does not show.

The cover plate is made of a heat-resistant metal, e.g. B. from boiler plate.

Short sleeves c are provided at the breakthrough points for the valves. The bushes c can be pressed or screwed into the cast steel body. Their external shape is expediently chosen so that they press the cover plate b onto the cast body when it is pressed in or screwed in. These bushings are expediently soldered together with the plate b and the cast steel body a. In this way, a cylinder cover is created that is free from casting stresses, can withstand operating temperatures and is easy to manufacture.
