Overcurrent regulator for synchronous machines. It is known that synchronous machines that have fallen out of step can usually not be brought back into synchronicity without further ado when the excitation current rises rapidly again, whereas when the excitation rises very slowly. This is particularly the case with synchronous expansion joints that run without prime movers. With these, the drop in speed that occurs during a short circuit also depends primarily on the excitation state of the machine, because it is working as a generator at this moment.
So that the drop in speed of such a machine is as small as possible, and so that it can, on the other hand, be brought back into synchronicity very easily, it is advisable to reduce the short-circuit work if possible by reducing the excitation as quickly as possible, and after the short-circuit occurs In short, slowly increasing the excitement again.
According to the invention, this is achieved in that the armature of the controller is provided with damping that is coupled to the armature in only one direction of rotation, while the damping in the opposite direction is ineffective and the armature is freely movable.
In the drawing, a Ausführungsbei game of the invention is shown schematically, omitting the parts that are insignificant for understanding the invention. a is the armature of a fast regulator in the form of a disc or drum, which can be rotated in the magnetic field generated by the coils b, c. The rolling contact sectors n sit on the armature axis and roll on the resistors o in the excitation circuit. For example, the spiral spring d attached to the armature axis is used as the straightening force for setting the desired statics or astatics of the governor drive system.
The damper sector e, the toothed edge of which is in engagement with the pinion f, also sits loosely on the armature axis and is coupled to it by the spring i. On the axis of this pinion sits loosely under the action of the electromagnet g damper disk la, which is driven by the damper sector e. The ratchet wheel k is firmly connected to the damper disk and engages the pawl m, which is seated on the pinion shaft and is under the action of a spring.
Therefore, when the regulator armature a is turned clockwise, the armature with the damper disk is over the spring i, sector e, pin f, pawl m and ratchet wheel k elastically coupled, i.e. the regulating speed of the controller is influenced by the electromagnetic damping. When the armature a is rotated counterclockwise, however, the coupling between the armature a and the damper disk h is released; the latter can stop, and the pawl nz can slide over the teeth of the ratchet wheel k so that the controller deflection is not inhibited by the damping.
The regulating speed is therefore different in both cases.
Instead of uniting the ratchet wheel k with the damper disk and putting the pawl on the pinion axis, the ratchet wheel k can just as well sit on the armature axis and the pawl on the damper sector e. If necessary, omitting the damper sector, the clutch spring and the pinion, the armature with the damper disc by an inter mediate member, for example a spring-loaded pawl engaging in a ratchet wheel, or the like, be kup pelt only in one direction of rotation. Instead of the damper disc with brake magnet, piston damping or another similar damping can be used as well.
