Description

Cannula for saliva suction pump. The object of the invention is a cannula for a saliva suction pump, used by dentists and surgeons.

The accompanying drawing shows, by way of example, an embodiment in metal.

Fig. 1. is a cut; Fig. 2 is a front view with part in section.

The cannula shown has an elbow tube A at the end of which is fixed by an internal screw B, a cap C, riveted to part B.

Tube A has two slots slightly exceeding the length of part B, screwed in this embodiment, and terminated by a cone.

The cap C, riveted to the screw B, is drilled with several holes D around the periphery. The cannula described allows saliva which freely enters the cap to be sucked into the tube without the mucous membranes being sucked against the walls of the cap.

The means for fixing the cap screwed into the tube and allowing saliva to pass through, prevents this cap from being able to free itself from the tube and be accidentally swallowed by the patient during an operation.

The dimensions and construction details of the cannula described could vary, but it will be practical to employ as a means of securing the cap a part which screws into the interior of the tube.
