Letztere zum Beispiel wurden bisher von Hand verpackt, was einen unver hältnismässig grossen Arbeits- und Material aufwand erforderte: Gemäss dem Verfahren werden in ein Band aus prägbarem Material für jeden zu verpackenden Gegenstand zwei Vertiefungen eingepresst, die so gross sind, dass sie zusam men dem Volumen des einzuwickelnden Ge genstandes entsprechen; darauf wird nach Einlegen des Gegenstandes in die eine Ver- tiefung der Bandteil mit der andern Vertie fung über den Gegenstand geklappt und dann die Randpartien der Verpackung luftdicht miteinander verbunden;
Process for the packaging of easily deformable objects that change in contact with the air. The subject of the present invention is a method for the packaging of easily deformable objects which change through contact with the air.
Such objects include, for example, certain products from the food and beverages industry, for example sugar, chocolate products, and also those chemical-pharmaceutical products which are marketed as molded objects, for example vaginal balls, gelatine preparations and suppositories Consideration.
The latter, for example, were previously packed by hand, which required a disproportionately large amount of work and material: According to the process, two indentations are pressed into a band of embossable material for each item to be packaged, which are so large that they come together Correspond to the volume of the object to be wrapped; Then, after the object has been inserted into one recess, the band part with the other recess is folded over the object and the edge portions of the packaging are then connected to one another in an airtight manner;
at the same time the packaging including the object is cut from the tape.
An embodiment of a device to carry out the method, specifically especially suitable for packaging suppositories, is illustrated schematically in the accompanying drawing.
Fig. 1 is a view partly in section; FIGS. 2 to 4 illustrate three different phases of the method, and FIG. 5 shows a package made with the device.
The device has a roller 1 on which a tape 2 of embossable material, preferably made of metal foil, for example stan niol, aluminum foil, caclllerte aluminum foil, or made of cellophane. Paper, etc., is wrapped. The strip 2 is guided between two guide rollers 3 into an embossing device. The latter has a die 4 and an associated, vertically movable male die 5.
The former has two recesses 6, 7, each of which speaks ent of one half of the item to be packaged. Between the two recesses 6, 7 a semicircular cross-section groove 8 is attached. The patrix 5 has elevations 9, 10 respectively. 11, the wells 6, 7 respectively. the groove 8 correspond.
In addition to the recess 7 respectively. the He increase 10 is in the male mold and in the Ma trize each a rectangular frame 13 respectively. 12 used, which frame have teeth 14 on the facing end faces. The frame 12 protrudes slightly above the surface of the die, while the frame 13 is set back slightly against the surface of the male die.
In the male mold a surrounding the frame 13 Schneidevor device 15 is arranged, while in the Ma trize around the frame 12, a groove 16 runs ver into which the cutting edge of the device 15 engages when the male mold is lowered. In each frame, an insert 17 is arranged, which has a recess 18, the shape and size of the recesses 6, 7 is similar.
The operation of the device is as follows: The tape 2 is drawn into the embossing device until it hits the protruding edge of the frame 12. The male mold is then lowered and two depressions 19 and 20 (FIG. 2) and a fold 21 are formed in the band.
The male mold is lifted and the object to be packaged was placed in the recess 19. The free end of the tape with the recess 20 is folded along the fold 21 over the Ge object (Fig. 3). The tape is then drawn into the device so far that the object is inserted into the recess 18 of the die. As a result, a new part of the tape comes over the recesses 6, 7 to lie. Now the patrix is lowered again.
As a result, on the one hand, two new recesses 22, 23 are produced in the band for receiving another object; on the other hand, the edge portions of the packaging parts preformed in the previous operation are simultaneously pressed together by the frames 12, 13 and embossed by the teeth 17 in such a way that they have interlocking elevations and depressions (indicated schematically in FIG. 5 at 24), which firmly connect Ensure that the edges of the packaging do not stick.
Simultaneously with this embossing by the serrations 17, the finished packaging is also cut from the tape by the cutting device 15, which also, if necessary, cuts the entire remaining edge of the packaging.
The shape of the frames 12, 13 can of course be different depending on the shape of the object to be wrapped.
Instead of connecting the edge parts of the packaging to one another in an airtight manner using the toothing described, this could also be done by gluing or folding.
The waste of packaging material that occurs in this way of working is extremely low. In addition, the method results in an airtight seal for the packaging, the latter nevertheless being easy to open.
