Description
Briefumschlag.
Envelope. The present invention relates to an envelope which is intended to offer a certain degree of security against unauthorized opening. It is characterized by the fact that it is formed by a sheet of paper that has been folded and glued together with its upper and lower edges and that the edges of its glued together have been processed using tools for the purpose of fraudulently opening and re-closing the letter by the Almost inevitably occurring distortion of the processed margins to be made visible.
The accompanying drawing represents an exemplary embodiment of the subject matter of the invention. Therein Fig. 1 is a diagram of a paper sheet prepared for the production of the envelope, Fig. 2 is a view of the sheet folded for the production of the envelope, and Fig. 3 is a view of the closed envelope (back with Flap).
According to the drawing, FIG. 1, the sheet 1 intended for the envelope is prepared by a rubber coating 2 indicated by hatching and then folded and glued at the folds 4. The side edges 3 come to rest on one another and are also glued. The side edges thus combined are then processed with a suitable tool, for example provided with a perforation 5 any arrangement. The envelope shown in FIG. 3 then arises.
If you try to open the envelope by unauthorized persons, you have to loosen the rubber coating on the upper and lower edges. no use, but the release of the closure of the margins. However, it will be very difficult to close these edges again after loosening them in such a way that the perforated areas are precisely covered so that any unauthorized opening made beforehand would be easily recognizable.
Instead of perforation, the side edges could also be processed in a different way, for example in that the closed edges are provided with cutouts or with an embossing or ribbing. A restoration of the originally machined side edges could also be made more difficult in that the side edges provided with perforations, cutouts, embossing or ribbing would still be provided with paint or a coating that could easily be destroyed by moisture.
