Description

Process for the preparation of a high polymer anetholsulfonic acid. We do not yet have any definite knowledge of the nature of blood coagulation. The few substances that are known to be able to inhibit blood coagulation are either not chemically defined at all or are so heterogeneous that no conclusions can be drawn about the mechanism of their action.

It is therefore a very surprising finding that substances with a strong anticoagulant effect are obtained if salt-forming groups, such as CH2COOH, SOaH, CH2CH2 N, are added to high molecular weight compounds that are formed by the polymerization of aromatic starting materials (C2H5) 2 introduces in a manner known per se and thus makes it water-soluble. In terms of their potency, the substances obtained in this way are the same as those of commercially available hirudin preparations, but, unlike these products, are completely stable and very little toxic.

Its anticoagulant effect is retained for a long time in the living organism.

The present invention relates to a process for the preparation of a highly polymeric anetholsulfonic acid, which is characterized in that sulfuric acid concentrated on polyarrethole is allowed to act.

The new compound forms alkali salts which are easily soluble in water. Sodium salt is a pale yellow powder that is easily soluble in water. Their salts are said to be used as a means of inhibiting blood clotting. Example 3 parts of polyanethol, which has been freed of low polymers by extraction with ether and has an average molecular weight of about 10,000 , are mixed with 13-20 parts of concentrated sulfuric acid with moderate cooling Knead until a uniform, deep red solution is obtained.

Blue lets stand in the cold for another 2 hours, then pours into water, the sulfuric acid precipitates by adding chalk, the neutral filtrate is mixed with soda solution until a weakly alkaline reaction, separates from the precipitating calcium carbonate and evaporates the filtrate. The sodium salt of the high-polymer anetholsulfonic acid is obtained as a pale yellow powder which is easily soluble in water.
