Zelluloseester in echten Tönen färben.
Preparation for the textile industry. The present invention relates to the utilization of a previously troublesome by-product of cellulose production, the black liquor - the waste liquor from the opening of the wood with sodium hydroxide. It relates to a preparation for the textile industry, which is characterized by a content of black liquor.
It has been found that the black liquor has the surprising property of being remarkably good for the production of preparations for the textile industry.
For example, it has the property of canceling the damaging effect that alkalis have on animal fibers such as wool and silk. It can therefore be used as a protective agent in all cases where such fibers bezw. alkaline substances, such as caustic alkalis, alkali carbonates, sulphurous alkalis, caustic alkaline vats, etc. come into contact. If it is dried for this purpose - a solid preparation is more pleasant to handle and to be shipped - the preparation thus obtained has the unpleasant property of being very hygroscopic.
It has now been found that if the black liquor is first neutralized with acids and only then evaporated, products are formed which do not lose their effectiveness as protective agents and are only very slightly hygroscopic.
It has also been found that when dyeing with vat dyes, the addition of black liquor also has a favorable influence on the leveling capacity of the dyes, in that the dyeings are significantly more level when the dyes are difficult to level. At the same time, calcium deposits are prevented in hard water.
The black liquor, as such or after its neutralization, also has the surprising property of being remarkably well suited to be used as an auxiliary in the production of dye preparations in which the dyes must be present in finely divided form will.
The preparations obtained in this way can be used as pastes; they can also be converted into dry preparations by evaporation, if appropriate after the addition of other protective colloids, such as, for example, sulphite cellulose waste liquor.
The new dye preparations can be used for a wide variety of purposes. Who, for example, azo dyes, indophenols or anthraquinone derivatives, which have affinity for acetate silk, rubbed with usual Licher or neutralized black liquor, emulsions are formed which, with or without the addition of soap, acetate silk respectively. Color cellulose esters in real tones. Furthermore, thick dyestuff doughs are generally converted into thin pastes by adding the relevant solutions, which is of great technical value.
When the preparations are finally dried, solid products arise which can be pulverized and which disintegrate in the presence of water with the formation of fine dye emulsions.
In the case of hüpen dyes - these belong to the indigoid, anthraquinoid or other types of lending - finely divided pastes can also be produced with the help of black liquor. provide, which in turn, possibly with the addition of further auxiliaries, such as sulfite cellulose liquor, can be converted into solid preparations.
The black liquor can also be used successfully for the production of vat preparations in that it has an extremely strong protective effect on leak compounds of the vat dyes, which otherwise can be very sensitive when evaporated.
If dyes are finally precipitated in the presence of black liquor, they precipitate in an extraordinarily fine form. This is valuable for the production of dye preparations or luminescent pigments: The following examples explain the invention without, however, limiting its scope. .
Example Z: 100 parts of black liquor are precisely neutralized with hydrochloric acid and then evaporated. The product obtained in this way is characterized by its air resistance and is a valuable protective agent. Example 2: 50 parts of a press cake. which contains 30 parts of the dye 5-nitroanisidine -i diethyl aniline are ground with 100 parts of black liquor neutralized with hydrochloric acid until a fine paste is obtained which, when water is added, gives a stable, homogeneous suspension of the dye.
This paste works well for dyeing acetate silk.
Example 3: 20 parts of dry 1,4,5,8-tetraamino-anthraquinone are ground with 30 parts of neutralized black liquor until the paste is very fine and unstable upon addition of water, a homogeneous suspension which can be added to a dye bath for dyeing acetate silk can be produced. If you want to convert this paste into a solid preparation, it is advisable to add as much black liquor or lime-free sulphite cellulose waste liquor and dry it in a vacuum at a low temperature.
Example .4: 20 parts of dichloro-N-dihydro-1,2,1 '; 2'-antrachinonazine are reprecipitated from concentrated sulfuric acid and the moist Pxesskuchen with 1000 parts of black liquor on the boiling water bath Evaporated to dryness. The powder obtained in this way is distinguished by its emulsifiability.
Example 5: A leuco vat preparation which contains 292 parts of the leuco compound of 2.5-dianilidobenzoquinone and 129 parts of black liquor with a content of 6.2% free caustic soda is in a vacuum at a temperature of 45 -60 'evaporated to dryness. The leuco vat preparation is obtained in the form of odorless, yellow-brown crusts which dissolve smoothly in water mixed with a little hydrosulphite and ammonia and produce normal dyeings of good fastness properties on wool.
Example 6: A leuco vat preparation containing 361 parts of the leuco compound of 2,5-di-p-chloroanilidobenzoquinone and 83 parts of black liquor is evaporated to dryness at 50-60 in a vacuum. A leuco vat preparation is obtained in the form of yellow-brown rusts. It dissolves quickly in water mixed with hydrosulphite and ammonia to form a vat from which wool is dyed in yellow tones of good fastness.
Example 7: A leuco vat preparation containing 2.98 parts of the leuco compound of thioindigo; and contains 157 parts of black liquor is evaporated to dryness in vacuo. Brownish-yellow crusts are obtained which dissolve smoothly in a bath that has been sharpened with sodium hydrosulfite and ammonia before sharpening, from which wool is dyed in red shades of good fastness.
The amount of black liquor can vary within wide limits, and the black liquor can also be used in conjunction with colloids, such as, for example, glue.
Example 8: 7000 parts of indigo press cake (of 30 dry content) are mixed with 50 to 100 parts of black liquor in 2000 parts of water and the mixture is stirred for 1 to 2 days. Then paste in the usual way.
Instead of indigo, other dyes can also be used, for example N-dihydro-1,2,1 ', 2'-anthraquinone azine, flavanthrene.
