Automatic switch-off device for the drive chap of drawing drums on wire drawing benches. In the hitherto common wire drawing banks, a foot pedal or similar arrangement is usually seen for each drawing drum, through which a clutch on the drive shaft can be turned off to interrupt the rotation of the drawing drum for any reasons.
The main reasons for malfunctions in wire drawing are: 1. if the wire has run off the reel and passed through the die, 2. if the wire is torn due to material defects before or after the die, 3. if the wire has a The loop has formed and lays it against the drawing iron, 4. when a few turns of wire have become entangled on the reel, so that it no longer rotates.
Since each worker usually operates several drawing drums, he, the machine. Pay the utmost attention to quickly disengaging the pulling drums in question in the event of malfunctions, as a free swinging wire end on a rotating pulling drum can cause great damage both to the rest of the wire and to the machine.
repairs are often very time-consuming. A foot pedal or similar arrangement is also generally unsafe to operate and the loading is also time consuming and inconvenient.
The present invention relates to a disconnection device for the drive coupling of pulling drums in wire drawing benches without the use of a foot pedal or the like, whereby the drive is automatically triggered and the rotation of the pulling drum is interrupted if any of the malfunctions described above occur.
This arrangement consists in the fact that the wire, during normal operation, while the wire is being drawn through the drawing iron to the drawing drum, engages a pivotable or displaceable holding device which is in releasable engagement with a with handle provided switch-on rod is. This rod is linked to a lever influenced by weight or spring, which is connected both to the clutch for the pulling drum and to a brake shoe that acts on a brake drum that stops the pulling drum.
If malfunctions of the type mentioned above occur, or the train of the wire stops, the holding device is brought out of engagement with the switching rod, so that the lever attached to it rotates under the influence of the weight or the spring, what makes the drive clutch is triggered and the brake assembly comes into action at the same time, whereby the pulling drum is stopped.
An embodiment of the invention is illustrated, for example, on the accompanying drawing, namely: Fig. 1 a pulling drum and a reel in side view, Fig. 2 is a front view of a pulling drum, Fig. 3 details of a Auslösevorrich device in front view and to a larger extent rods, Fig. 4 Details of another release device in plan view and on a larger scale.
In the embodiment according to the drawing, 1 denotes the draw bench, 2 the drive shaft, 3 the drawing drum, 4 whose vertically arranged shaft, 5 a bevel gear fastened to this be, 6 a bevel gear loosely arranged on the drive shaft 2, which is connected to the Bevel gear 5 is engaged. 7 is a brake drum made in one piece with the bevel gear 6; 8 is the release rod of the coupling 9 wedged on the drive shaft 2, by which the pulling drum 3 is set in rotation or brought to a standstill. 10 is the reel with the wire 11, which can be displaced in a guide or is arranged on a pivotable frame.
12 is a console on the draw bench with lugs 13, which carry the drawing iron 14. In addition to the approaches 13, which are not shown in Fig. 2, a rotatable, pivotable or ver slidable holding device 15 is arranged. This holding device is provided with a nose 16 (Fig. 3). 17 denotes a rod with a handle 18, which is arranged approximately vertically, the switch rod, which is guided through a visual loop 19 and has a recess 20 or another arrangement fulfilling the same purpose, which is used to accommodate the wet 16 of the holding device 15 serves.
The rod 17 is articulated to a lever 21 which is influenced by a weight 22 or a spring. The lever, which is bent at an angle and is provided with two arms 21 and 24, is rotatably mounted on the pin 23 on the frame of the draw bench 1. The approximately vertically arranged arm 24 is arm-free end formed into a fork which is ver in the usual manner with the release rod 8 of the coupling 9 connected.
On the arm 24, a lever 25 is also arranged, which is articulated to a brake shoe 26 which is seen to engage with the brake drum 7th before.
As can be seen from Fig. 2, the holding device 15 is in releasable engagement with the raised switch rod 17, wel che holds the lever 21 in the raised position. The brake shoe 26 is out of engagement with the brake drum; the clutch is switched on. The drawing drum 3 rotates and the wire runs in a tensioned state between it and the drawing iron and acts on the holding device 15 through its tension caused by the tension so that it cannot rotate.
The switch rod 17 and the lever 21 influenced by weight or spring are held by the nose 16 of the holding device 15. If the tension of the wire decreases and thus its tension, the holding device 15 rotates as a result of the weight of the rod, whereby the nose 16 is brought out of engagement with the recess 20 of the switch rod 17. The lever 21 rotates as a result of its severity and the influence of the weight 23, or a Fe of the pin 23, the lever 25 presses the brake shoe 26 against the brake drum 7 and the lever 24 pushes the release rod 8 to the side, whereby the The clutch is switched off and the movement of the drawing drum 3 stops.
In the event that the reel cannot rotate as a result of the wire being entangled on the same and thus an increased train is exerted, which can result in a break in the wire, a device is provided which automatically triggers the switch-on rod 17 thus causing the drawing drum to come to a standstill. For this purpose, the reel is arranged to be displaceable or pivotable so that the wire pulls the reel against the draw bench, this or the frame of the reel actuating a rod 28 arranged between this and the draw bench.
This rod is rotatably hinged to a lever 30, 31 which is arranged on the console 12 or on the edge of the draw bench and is bent around a pin 29 (Fig. 4), which is arranged either on the console 12 or on the draw bench , turns. Here, the bent lever rotates 30, 31, and the sen arm 31 pushes against the switching rod 17, whereby it is pushed to the side. The engagement with the nose 16 of the holding device 15 is thereby released. Further, as written earlier, the lever 21 rotates and the rotation of the pulling drum stops.
In any case, it is the wire itself that actuates the clutch for driving the drawing drum.
If the pulling drum is to be set in motion again, the switch-on rod is grasped on the handle and lifted up until the nose 16 of the retaining device comes into engagement with the recess 20. The brake pad 26 and the coupling 9 come into intermediate positions and the pulling drum 7 can be turned by hand, which is particularly important when starting up.
Other embodiments are also conceivable within the scope of the invention. The bevel gear 6 can, for example, be firmly attached to the drive shaft 2 and the clutch 9 and the brake drum 7 can be attached to the vertical shaft of the pulling drum or to the edge thereof.
The holding device 15 can also be provided with a roller on which the wire slides. The holding device 15 with or without a roller can be arranged to rotate in the longitudinal direction of the wire.
