Description
Large rectifier with metal anode protection tubes. For large rectifiers with metal anode protection tubes, it has already been proposed several times to attach metal surfaces as a grid within the anode protection tubes, insulated from them, as a grid for electrostatically influencing the arc. It is also known to use control grids to regulate metal vapor rectifiers by applying alternating voltages of different phases to these grids in order to delay the ignition of the anode by a certain time.
The invention relates to a large rectifier with a particularly favorable design of the power supply to the iso lated grid; this line is passed through the wall of the anode tube.
An exemplary embodiment is shown in the illustration.
The power supply to the anode 1 is surrounded by an insulator 2. On this, the electrically conductive protective tube 3 is suspended in the usual manner. A control grid 4 is located in the metal protective tube in front of the anode, and it is attached so as to be insulated from the metal tube 3. This grid 4 can be connected to an external power source through a line 5. The metal protective tube 3 is perforated so that the line does not come into contact with the tube itself. In order to reliably prevent such contact and also around the grid 4 with the aid of the conductor 5 in the To store the pipe, a special implementation 6 made of insulating material is inserted into the pipe wall.
In this way, the lead wire 5 to the grid 4 outside of the Ent charge path to the implementation from the vacuum vessel, which is advantageously housed on the cover next to the main inlet for the anode, are guided. The space between the grid 4 and the anode 1, which should be as clean and easily controllable as possible for reasons of operational safety, remains completely free of wire lines in this case.
