Plaque indicatrice de rues. L'objet de cette invention est une plaque indicatrice de rues, caractérisée par une boîte lumineuse renfermant une source de lumière et dont au moins une des faces est consti tuée par un panneau de matière transparente portant le nom d'une rue, de sorte que ce nom est visible pendant le jour par la lu mière du jour et pendant la nuit par l'éclai rage intérieur du panneau.
Elle est particulièrement avantageuse aux endroits mal éclairés qui donnent lieu à des inconvénients ou des pertes de temps dans la recherche des adresses. Ces plaques peu vent remplacer celles usuelles figées au murs, ou elles peuvent être supportées par des poteaux ou consoles.
Le dessin ci-joint, donné à titre d'exem ple, représente quelques formes d'exécution de l'objet de l'invention.
Fig. 1 est une vue en perspective d'une maison de coin, deux plaques indicatrices de rue étant appliquées à deux- murs de cette maison. Fig. 2 est une vue en perspective d'un coin de trottoir, deux plaques indicatrices de rue étant portées par un poteau.
Fig. 3 est une vue en perspective d'une maison de coin, une plaque indicatrice de rue étant supportée par une console.
Fig. 4 est une élévation d'une boîte lumi neuse et 5 montre, en coupe schématique verticale, un ensemble de boîtes lumineuses. A la fig. 1, 1 indique l'angle d'une mai son de coin. Chaque face de cette maison porte une boîte rectangulaire pour l'indica tion de la rue, la boîte comportant un cadre métalliqde 2, lequel porte un panneau en verre transparent 3 muni du nom de la rue respective. Une source de lumière, par exem ple une ou plusieurs lampes électriques, est logée dans l'intérieur de la boîte pour illu miner le panneau pendant la nuit. Le nom de la rue est donc visible pendant le jour et pendant la nuit.
La boîte rectangulaire 2, 3 porte une boîte ovale 4 ayant un pan- neau en verre transparent 5, de couleur différente du premier, et muni d'autres indi cations d'utilité publique.
Les fig. 4 et 5 montrent un exemple de construction des boîtes lumineuses représen tées en fig. 1.
Le cadre rectangulaire 2 formant les côtés de la boîte porte un châssis 6 solidaire du cadre et présentant une fente sur un de ses côtés latéraux pour passer le panneau en verre transparent 3, guidé par des cou lisses 7 inférieure et supérieure formées par le cadre et le châssis. Le cadre de la boite ovale supérieure porte également un châssis 9 fixé au cadre par des vis et encastré dans celui-ci. Pour l'application du panneau 5 au moyen de pattes, on détache le châssis 9.
Dans chaque boîte lumineuse est disposé un certain nombre de lampes 11 pour l'éclai rage des panneaux en verre, transparents, 3 et 5.
La fig. 2 montre un coin de trottoir 11 avec un poteau métallique 20 supportant des boîtes lumineuses 30 et 40 dont l'une est rectangulaire pour l'indication de la rue, et l'autre polygonale pour une autre indication d'utilité publique. Les deux panneaux des boîtes lumineuses 30 et 40 sont en verre transparent et peuvent être illuminés par les lampes logées dans les boîtes. Les boîtes lumineuses possèdent donc deux faces trans parentes portant des indications de rues, etc., de sorte que les indications soient visi bles des deux côtés. La construction des boîtes peut, être analogue à celle décrite en regard des fig. 4 et 5.
Le fond 3' de la boîte rectangulaire 3 est également formé par un panneau de verre transparent de sorte qu'il puisse éclairer une troisième pla que 5, en forme de flèche et en matière quelconque, préférablement en tôle, simple ment suspendue par une chaîne à la boîte 3 et portant une indication locale, telle que "téléphone", "pompiers\, <B>etc.</B>
La fig. 3 montre encore l'angle 1 d'une maison de coin dont les deux faces portent une boîte lumineuse 21 en forme de coin et munie de panneaux transparents, sur chacun desquels se trouve l'indication de la rue respective. Une deuxième boite lumineuse circulaire 31 munie de panneaux transparents est portée par la boîte 21, et pourvue d'au tres indications. Ainsi que dans les exemples d'exécution déjà décrits, les faces des deux boites sont éclairées par transparence par des lampes qu'elles renferment et leur con struction permet le remplacement des pan neaux en verre sans les démonter complète ment.
Street sign. The object of this invention is a street sign, characterized by a light box enclosing a light source and at least one of the faces of which is formed by a panel of transparent material bearing the name of a street, so that this name is visible during the day by daylight and at night by the interior lighting of the panel.
It is particularly advantageous in poorly lit places which give rise to inconvenience or loss of time in finding addresses. These plates can replace the usual ones fixed to the walls, or they can be supported by posts or brackets.
The accompanying drawing, given by way of example, represents some embodiments of the object of the invention.
Fig. 1 is a perspective view of a corner house, two street signs being applied to two walls of this house. Fig. 2 is a perspective view of a sidewalk corner, two street signs being carried by a post.
Fig. 3 is a perspective view of a corner house, a street sign being supported by a console.
Fig. 4 is an elevation of a light box and 5 shows, in vertical schematic section, a set of light boxes. In fig. 1, 1 indicates the angle of a corner sound. Each side of this house bears a rectangular box for the indication of the street, the box comprising a metal frame 2, which bears a transparent glass panel 3 bearing the name of the respective street. A light source, for example one or more electric lamps, is housed inside the box to illuminate the panel at night. The name of the street is therefore visible during the day and at night.
The rectangular box 2, 3 carries an oval box 4 having a transparent glass panel 5, of a different color from the first, and provided with other indications of public utility.
Figs. 4 and 5 show an example of the construction of the light boxes shown in fig. 1.
The rectangular frame 2 forming the sides of the box carries a frame 6 integral with the frame and having a slot on one of its lateral sides for passing the transparent glass panel 3, guided by the lower and upper smooth necks 7 formed by the frame and the chassis. The frame of the upper oval box also carries a frame 9 fixed to the frame by screws and embedded therein. For the application of the panel 5 by means of tabs, the frame 9 is detached.
In each light box is arranged a number of lamps 11 for the illumination of the glass panels, transparent, 3 and 5.
Fig. 2 shows a sidewalk corner 11 with a metal post 20 supporting light boxes 30 and 40, one of which is rectangular for the indication of the street, and the other polygonal for another indication of public utility. The two panels of light boxes 30 and 40 are made of transparent glass and can be illuminated by the lamps housed in the boxes. The light boxes therefore have two transparent faces bearing indications of streets, etc., so that the indications are visible from both sides. The construction of the boxes may be similar to that described with reference to FIGS. 4 and 5.
The bottom 3 'of the rectangular box 3 is also formed by a transparent glass panel so that it can illuminate a third plate 5, in the shape of an arrow and in any material, preferably sheet metal, simply suspended by a chain to box 3 and bearing a local indication, such as "telephone", "fire brigade \, <B> etc. </B>
Fig. 3 also shows the corner 1 of a corner house, the two faces of which bear a light box 21 in the form of a wedge and provided with transparent panels, on each of which is the indication of the respective street. A second circular light box 31 provided with transparent panels is carried by the box 21, and provided with other indications. As in the examples of execution already described, the faces of the two boxes are illuminated by transparency by the lamps which they contain and their construction allows the replacement of the glass panels without completely dismantling them.
