Description
Kältemaschine. Gegenstand der Erfindung ist eine Kälte maschine, welche unter sehr hohem Vakuum arbeitet und bei der eine Verdampfungs- flüssigkeit verwendet wird, die bei sehr tiefen Temperaturen siedet.
Bei derartigen Anlagen können die bis lang üblichen Schmiermittel, wie Glyzerin und dergleichen nicht verwendet werden, da sie weder den hohen Kältegraden standhalten, noch unter der Einwirkung der Verdampf ungs- mittel unzersetzt bleiben. Es muss daher ein besonderes Schmiermittel gewählt werden, welches diese Übelstände nicht besitzt. Als solches hat sich nach eingehenden Versuchen Äthylenglykol oder eine Mischung von Äthylenglykol mit Glyzerin bewährt, welche Schmiermittel mit dem Verdampfungsmittel keine Verbindung eingehen, sich mit ihm nicht mischen und bei der tiefen Kälte nicht gefrieren.

In systems of this type, the lubricants that have been customary for a long time, such as glycerine and the like, cannot be used since they neither withstand the high degrees of cold nor remain undecomposed under the action of the evaporation agents. A special lubricant must therefore be selected that does not have these drawbacks. As such, ethylene glycol or a mixture of ethylene glycol with glycerine has proven itself as such, which lubricants do not combine with the evaporation agent, do not mix with it and do not freeze in the deep cold.
