Four-stroke internal combustion engine with supercharging. The invention relates to a four-stroke internal combustion engine with supercharging, in which the supercharging air can be pre-processed by means of at least one exhaust gas turbine and by means of additional power, and consists in that the exhaust gas turbine alone generates an average boost pressure which is lower than the average Exhaust pressure,
and that the boost pressure is increased at least at higher loads by additional force above the mean Atispuffdruck before the turbine. The additional force can be switched on between half load and overload or between full load and overload. One or more fans can be provided. Some of these can be operated by exhaust gases alone and the rest by additional power alone. However, all fans can also be operated both by the exhaust gas turbines and by additional power.
If there is only one fan, this has an exhaust gas turbine drive and an additional power drive. The drawing relates to Ausführungsbei games of the subject matter of the invention. FIG. 1 shows two indicator diagrams of the machine according to FIG. 2; Fil-. 3 and 4 are variants of FIG. 2.
In FIG. 2 a five-cylinder internal combustion engine 1 is shown in which the exhaust gases from the cylinders 2 into the exhaust line 3 and the exhaust gas turbine 4 be directed. The same is coupled to a blower 5 , which conveys fresh air for charging purposes through the line 6 into the cylinder 2 of the internal combustion engine.
The turbine 4 is designed in such a way, for example in that it has blades which correspond to a slight pressure drop, that the pressure of the charge air conveyed into the cylinders by means of the fan 5 driven by it is lower than the middle exhaust pressure. In order to increase the boost pressure above the mean exhaust pressure upstream of the turbine, a further fan 7 is provided, which is driven by an EI electric motor 8 becomes. The fan 7 is connected upstream of the fan 5 ; However, as can be seen from FIG. 3, it can also be connected in parallel with the fan 5.
Fig. 4 finally shows an embodiment in which the compression of the charge air takes place in a single blower 9 , for its drive an exhaust gas turbine 10 and an electric motor 11 </ B> are provided.
In the indicator diagram in Fig. 1 , the solid line a shows the course of the pressure in the cylinder when the supercharging air is pre-consumed by the turbine alone, the mean supercharging pressure p " is less than the mean charge pressure, kp ". The dashed line b shows the course of the indicator diagram,
if the pre-compression is carried out by exhaust gas turbines and by additional power. In this case the mean boost pressure is p., above the mean exhaust pressure _P "i.
The additional power can come from a generator driven by the motor 1 or from a special auxiliary unit. The auxiliary unit # can consist of a generator driven by an internal combustion engine or a steam engine. The fan operated by additional power can also be driven by direct coupling with an auxiliary power machine, for example a steam turbine.
