Der praktischen Verwertung dieser Er kenntnis würden sich jedoch bei dem augen blicklichen Stande der Technik ausserordent- liche Schwierigkeiten entgegensetzen. Der naheliegende Weg, einzelne für sich herge stellte metallische und nicht leitende Schich ten in abwechselnder Reihenfolge, beispiels weise durch Pressung, zu einem Kondensator zusammenzusetzen;
Das abwechselnde Aufbringen der züi schichtenden .Stoffe auf eine gemeinsame Fläche kann. zum Beispiel dadurch erzielt werden, dass die Stoffe von in .der Bewe gungsrichtung der Fläche versetzten .Stellen aus mittelst Düsen;
Method and device for producing a body particularly suitable as a capacitor. The invention relates to a method and a device for producing a body, particularly suitable as a capacitor, from a plurality of thin, alternately metallic and non-conductive layers.
The latest research has shown that the dielectric strength of thin layers increases when the thickness is less than 0.005 mm above the usual level of 3 × 10 volts / cm, and the thinner the layer thickness, the higher it is.
It has been found that, by reducing the thickness of the layer sufficiently, a dielectric strength of 1.5X10 $ volts / cm can be achieved, i.e. 500 times the normal value that has been achieved since then. One of several; alternating metallic and non-conductive layers composed of bodies would therefore with a thickness of the individual layers:
of less than 0.005 mm represent a capacitor which, with a very small volume, enables a much higher accumulation of electrical energy than the previously known capacitors.
However, given the current state of the art, the practical application of this knowledge would present extraordinary difficulties. The obvious way to put together individual herge made metallic and non-conductive layers in alternating order, for example by pressing, to form a capacitor;
, would be extraordinarily, difficult and expensive because of the low material thickness and the high number of layers usually required.
The invention makes it possible to manufacture such capacitors in a very simple manner in one operation. The method according to the invention consists in that the substances to be layered are never thrown alternately in rapid succession on a jointly moving and cooled surface.
The precipitation can take place from the gaseous state by condensation, from the liquid state by spraying. Depending on the nature of the substances to be deposited, one can. either use one or the other method or condense one substance and spray the other substance, for example the metal, on. In order to keep harmful gases away while performing the procedure, it may be advisable to carry out the procedure in a vacuum.
The alternating application of the züi schichtenden .Stoffe on a common surface can. can be achieved, for example, that the substances are offset in the direction of movement of the surface by means of nozzles;
or the like are condensed or sprayed onto a surface moving at high speed, for example the surface of a rapidly rotating drum, the number of changes taking place in the unit of time determined by the speed of the surface, for example the speed of the Drum, is intended.
The metallic connection between homopolar metal layers required for capacitors can be produced by arranging at least two outlet nozzles one behind the other in alternating sheets for each of the substances to be layered and offset them in such a way transversely to the direction of movement of the surface that the metal layers applied in between Laying insulation layers protrude alternately on one and the other side edge and lie directly on top of one another. come.
An embodiment of the device for carrying out the method according to the invention and a capacitor manufactured by means of this device are shown in the drawing.
Fig. 1 shows the device in axial section, - Fig. 2 in a section along the line 2-2 of Figs. 1; Fig. 3 shows schematically a capacitor produced by means of the device in cross section.
Within the housing a, a drum c driven by the disk b rotates at high speed. The outer surface of the drum c moves in front of the outlet nozzles d, e, f, g, two of which, for example d, e, the non-conductive material and two, for example f and g, the metallic Feed the fabric into the drum. Dasi housing a is verschlos sen on one end face by a removable disc 1a in which the pivot pin i of the drum c is mounted.
An adjusting ring k fastened to the end of the pivot pin i rotates with little play in an annular space formed between the nut Z and the washer h, so that an axial displacement of the drum is prevented. A line m with play is passed through the hollow pin i and is held in position by the nut l.
A coolant, for example the vapors of liquid air, is supplied to the hollow drum c through this line. The coolant is discharged through the other, also hollow pivot pin n of the drum.
The drive pulley b is rigidly attached to the end of the pivot n. In the hub part of the disk b protruding beyond the end of the pin n: a slide valve o is mounted, by means of which the outlet openings p for the coolant and thus the amount of coolant flowing through the drum in the unit can be regulated. The trunnions i and n get their lubrication through - the oils q and r. The housing is kept evacuated by a pipe.
The outlet openings of the nozzles d, e, f, g are expediently designed in the shape of a gap. The nozzles are offset from one another in the direction of the drum axis in such a way that 'the axis of one metal nozzle f on the one hand and the axis of the other metal nozzle on the other hand of the nozzles d and e, which are diametrically opposed to the axes for the insulating layers, are perpendicular Level lies.
This staggered arrangement of the nozzles ensures that the metal layers t applied by one metal nozzle, for example f, protrude beyond the insulating layers u applied by the nozzles d and e on their left side edges and are connected to one another in a metallic manner, while the through the other metal nozzle,
For example g, applied metal layers v protrude beyond the insulation layers u on their right side edges and also come to lie directly on top of one another. The thickness of each layer. depends on the speed of the drum and the amount of material to be stratified per unit of time.
After the desired number of layers are present on the drum; is, the drum is stopped, the disc f abge unscrewed and the drum c after Abneh men the drive disc b pulled out of the housing a. Then the spiral layers are separated in the axial direction and peeled off from the drum.
