Device for generating X-rays. The invention relates to a device for X-ray generation, in which for those in the room in which the device is located, the possibility of touching high voltage Füh-generating parts is practically excluded.
In the device, the X-ray tube is surrounded by a grounded, conductive sheath which at the same time surrounds the high-voltage line up to a point out of reach and is held essentially perpendicular by a carrier.
Some embodiments of the device are shown schematically in the figures in longitudinal section.
In a on the ceiling (Fig. 1) or, as it is in some cases, for example, if the ceiling is not strong enough, he wishes, on a wall of the room (Fig. 2) attached box a, possibly made of porcelain housed the transformer feeding the X-ray tube. At the exit point of the high-voltage line from the transformer housing a is located - in the embodiment according to FIG. 2 with the mediation of an arm, q - a carrier (ball joint) b,
on which the remaining part of the device, including the X-ray tube c, hangs. But you can also attach the ball joint to the ceiling and to it the high-voltage line from one about. Insert the transformer attached to the wall.
One of the two parts of the ball-and-socket joint, which can also be replaced by a cardanic joint or any other articulation device that moves in all directions, carries a metal tube d on which, surrounding it, an insulating tube e is attached. On the insulating tube e a electrically connected to the earth metal housing f is firmly attached, which encloses the X-ray tube c and can be made impermeable to X-rays except for a window intended for the exit of the rays to be made usable.
In order to protect the people in the vicinity of the device from contact with the high voltage, the earthed cover is raised so far that it still leads up beyond the reach of people standing on the floor. The cover / 'can be provided with a shell or a protective cage at the top.
As is known per se, the X-ray tube can be connected to earth with one of its electrodes. To cool the anti-cathode you can (compare Fig. 1) with a massive stem g, wel cher absorbs the heat flowing from your inti-cathode mirror, the through the interior of the upward leading, at the same time the supply line on the high-voltage side forming metal pipe d rises and is carried away by the chimney effect.
But you can also provide the anticathode with a large surface cooler. (Fig. 2), which is attached in the corresponding wide Ren tube d in .Abstand.
Instead of using the ball suspension on the ceiling or wall, you can also use the new device, as shown in FIG. 3, in one embodiment, in conjunction with a tripod that is part of the way, as it is also known per se , is attached to a box i containing the high voltage transformer.
In. In some cases it proves to be expedient to use the X-ray tube c with its housing f and the insulator c, in the cases of FIGS. 1 and 2, for example. by means of a telescopic design of the suspension device that can be moved up and down along the tube d. It is also advantageous to mount the X-ray tube c together with its housing f so as to be rotatable about the vertical axis.
In addition, the X-ray tube in the exemplary embodiments according to FIGS. 1 and 2 can be brought into all settings made possible by the ball joint, in the embodiment according to FIG. 3 with the stand arm 7, pivot about its axis of rotation, the sheath f in the serving as a carrier Sleeve a and the 4rm 1c on the stand 1 can be moved up and down.
This threefold mobility of the X-ray tube makes it possible to set the X-ray tube as desired in a convenient manner; namely directly at the point of handling, i.e. close to the X-ray tube itself.
In some, especially in dentist-borrowed X-ray applications, there is a need to be able to adjust the main direction of the X-ray rays as desired in a wide angle range.
In order to achieve this well, you can on the Ge housing f (Fig.4 and 5) on the one hand in front of the anticathode of the X-ray tube a movable union in a corresponding guide, except for an opening ri serving for the passage of the X-rays Attach the used X-ray opaque sliding cover o. The cover slide o can be connected to the diaphragm tube p inevitably.
Advantageously, to facilitate the movement of air through the shaft formed by the interior of the pipe d, the Füh tion is attached to the cover slide at a distance from the grounded housing f.
