Reading box with cube-shaped symbol carriers. The invention relates to most reading boxes with which the small students to be introduced into the reading and writing art with the letters and the composition of the letters into words should be made known to whoever.
In a manner known per se, the reading box is to be provided with cube-shaped characters that are put together in the guest to form a square that forms the top view area.
The difficulty is to limit oneself to the number of letters, digits and characters that are just sufficient for teaching and to distribute these letters, digits and characters over the cube surfaces in such a way that the most important letters are in the viewing area. the hidden characters are easy to find.
According to the invention, the reading box is limited to 25 equal-sized cubes, on whose 150 surfaces the vowels A, E, I, O and U seven times each, the umlauts Ä, Ö and Ü, the numbers from 1-9 and 0, as well as the characters X and -I- and = each once and all other letters, with the exception of the missing Y, which is replaced by a J, and the g, which is only present four times, are each present five times. These characters are now distributed according to the invention in such a way that when the 25 cubes are put together to form a square, the cubes of the alphabet with the exception of Y, which is replaced by J, appear in alphabetical order on the viewing surface.
By folding the horizontal cubes in a row <B> 90 '</B> forwards. a new view area can be created in which the numbers 1-9 and 0 in the two top rows, the 'vowels twice in the third and fourth row and in the bottom row the characters X, -f- and the three umlauts times appear.
The four other copies of the alphabet lying in the viewing area lie staggered on the cube areas of the same horizontal row, where the letter g is replaced by a _ only once.
This results in a small box, especially for the youngest pupils, and there is an extremely simple rule for finding the numerous hidden characters, which is very important because only 25 of the 150 characters are always in the child's field of vision can be.
The drawing illustrates an exemplary embodiment, namely: Figures 1 and 2 show the cube in the upper left corner of the viewing surface; Fig. 3 shows the face of the cubes united to form a square; Fig. 4 shows the viewing surface that it can be generated when the horizontal rows of cubes are turned over in sequence by <B> 90 '</B> forwards.
In the illustration, the upper left corner cube in the viewing area shows the letter A with a point that is attached to all letters of the alphabet that are to be located when classifying the cube in the viewing area according to FIG. On this left corner cube there are also, as FIG. 1 shows, the letters B and D and, as FIG. 2 shows, the letters C and E and the number 1.
In order to look for the four more pieces for the cube of the alphabet that are in the viewing area, all you have to do is to note that the four other copies are always in the same horizontal row. So if you want to look for a second A for the A on the left corner cube, then this is on the cube with the horizontal row to the right, which is marked with the letter .B.
The third piece is on the cube, which is marked with .C in the viewing area and the fourth is on the cube, which is marked .D in the viewing area, and finally the fifth copy is on the cube, which is in the viewing area with: E denotes. The letter B is also found five times on these five cubes, i.e. four times in addition to the letter .B in the field of vision.
The arrangement of the other letters in the five horizontal rows is analogous. Instead of the Y, which has been left out, the more important J has also been inserted to hold the number of 25 alphabet letters.
Furthermore, the letter X, since it occurs so rarely, is only four times, that is to say apart from those in the viewing surface the and with. marked letter X is still present three times in the bottom horizontal row of letters and one of the surfaces is provided with an = symbol, which is located on the surface marked with .Z in the viewing surface. So it is extremely easy for even the smallest student to look up the five copies of the letters in the cube box.
The numbers that exist once from 1-9 and 0 are just as light, as well as the five vowels that are available twice because they occur so frequently, and the three umlauts that exist once and the characters X and to find the sign. In order to make these accessible, it is only necessary that the horizontal row of cubes, as it appears in Fig. 3 with the letters .A, .B, .C, .D, .E, is simply folded forward by 90. The series of numbers 1-5 then appears in the new viewing area, as shown in FIG.
Likewise, the numbers from 6-9 and 0 appear when the second horizontal row of dice is tilted forward by 90, and in the two following rows on the right as shown in FIG Finally, in the tilted bottom horizontal row, the X sign, + sign, as well as the umlauts Ä, 0 and Ü.
